Avatar f tn Swollen ankles, short of breath, kicks to the guts...I'm so ready to have this baby!
Avatar f tn I have had the edema on and off, and my Endo used to check my ankles when I had an office visit, so with Hashi's it is common, although I have not had shortness of breath.
Avatar f tn So I have been sitting at an Xmas gathering for my family today for about 3 hours got home was relaxing in my recliner. Walked up stairs to talk on my phone and looked down and my ankles are huge! Its mostly the back and the inside of my ankle. I'm worried bcuz I looked up preclampsia sorry if that's spelt wrong. And another side effect is shortness of breath and I have had that for the last 4 weeks. I'm only 21 weeks.
290018 tn?1240365868 Smelly feet... It can't be that bad... Did you know that due to all the relaxation caused by progesterone that our feet can grow a half to a whole size while we are preggos. And unfortunately, this is one side effect that does not go away after birth. You might try getting your feet measured and invest in another pair of shoes in a good fit.
Avatar n tn However, pretty soon after, she displayed signs of fatigue, shortness of breath, and her legs/ankles being persistently swollen. Does anyone know what this might imply? Is this a common symptom in patients post mitral valve replacement? What should we do next?
Avatar m tn Few days back he started having the problem of swollen ankle, sleeplessness and shortness of breath. then he was hospitalized for couple of days where doctors gave him Dubotamine along with lasix, after 2 days his wait was reduced by 6 kg and the breath and ankles were ok, but now again his ankles are swollen. Kindly need you advise on what to do? Other than this heart problem, he has no other problem.
Avatar n tn Sometimes lying down with legs elevated can reduce the swollen ankles. I was admitted to ICU just based on shortness of breath, it is very telling for congested heart failure. I felt well and was shocked 6 years ago to hear I had had a heart attack and CHF. Currently, my heart has returned to normal size and the heart is pumping normally. The bypass may be failing and/or there are other occlusions and that may take a CT angiogram to determine.
Avatar f tn m worried about my 75 year old grandmother, she has had some common symptoms of right sided congestive heart failure. She has shortness of breath when talking, noticably swollen legs and ankles, weakness, neck vains exposed etc. She has extremely low blood pressure but also very high cholesterol. Can anyone confirm that this is in fact congestive heart failure, I'm very worried about her but she doesn't want to see a doctor!
Avatar f tn Exhaustion, insomnia, nesting, frequent urination, shortness of breath, increase watery discharge, cervical pain, pelvic pressure, cramps, back pain.
Avatar f tn Over time, the organs soon fail, resulting to shortness of breath, fatigue and weakness, swelling of the legs, ankles and feet, persistent cough or wheezing with white or pink-blood tinged phlegm, swollen abdomen (ascites) and weight gain. If he experiences chest pain, fatigue and weakness, rapid or irregular heartbeat and shortness of breath, bring your husband to a nearby hospital for prompt evaluation and management. A few minutes delay of management may put your husband’s life at risk.
Avatar f tn Hasn't your baby dropped yet? Usually the shortness of breath is normal when the baby is still not low. Doesn't mean anything is wrong but still I would at least call my doctor. In regards to the swelling make sure your blood pressure is okay and try elevating your feet.
Avatar m tn If you have taken stress tests and have not had to stop the tests early due to shortness of breath, the odds are *great* that the shortness of breath you report is NOT related to heart disease. In fact, most of the symptoms you report, such as lower back pain, transient high blood pressure--in the absence of other known, genuine heart symptoms--have nothing to do with heart trouble. You do not have to worry about 'misleading' your doc.
Avatar f tn t had a thing wrong with him in his whole life up until now. He went into hospital last week with shortness of breath and swollen ankles and tiredness. They said he had phneumonia and a crackle on his lung which he is being treated for; and also they have said he has heart failure. They've given him a fair few kinds of medication to take and have sent him home with his discharge notes.

615166 tn?1282303497 Reading an entire thread of swollen ankles has prompted me to respond. Do you know that your doctor will not diagnose you with Heart Failure until your heart enlarges, and then it is too late to do anything about it. If you have swollen ankles, you are dealing with fluid overload and the long term result will be weakening of your poor tired heart. Heart Failure ain't for sissies, you may want to build health before you get there.
Avatar f tn If left untreated it can cause fluids in lungs, shortness of breath, liver complications and serious cardiac conditions like cardiac arrhthymias, pulmonary edema, atrial fibrillation and heart failure etc which may be life threatening. I would suggest an immediate medical intervention and investigations like ECG,echocardiography and blood tests.Either coax her or use force, your mother needs to be evaluated by a cardiologist as soon as possible. I hope that helps.
329994 tn?1301663248 Has anyone on here had shortness of breath with CFS/EBV? I have had several pulmonary function tests and I have a low oxygen diffusion level and they can't figure out why. I had the tests originally because of having the breathing problem. It isn't bad, just sometimes, at rest or when I exercise. Since I am finding out that alot of my other symptoms are symptoms that people have with CFS, I am wondering if this is one too? Thanks for any input.
Avatar n tn My husband's 1st pacemaker was nearing its 10 yr. warranty time in March 2022. We had testing done in November 2021 so we could be prepared in advance for a replacement when the time came in 2022. The technician did some tests and insisted his pacemaker had maybe 12 - 18 months left before it needed replacement. We protested the findings so they scheduled a 6 month appt for June 2022.

Avatar f tn So for the past week and a half I've been having shortness of breath & can't find a comfortable position to sleep in at night. I have also been having lower abdomen and back cramps that will sometimes last most of the day. Kinda been feeling under pressure especially when I urinate. What could this mean???
Avatar m tn Now at 25, over the past week, 1) My awareness of my heartbeat, which has always been there (but less so) since age 18 has increased again 2) I had a morning of off swollen ankles (well, swollen tops of feet where feet connect to legs) along with itchy bumps on legs, all which went away after a few hours. 3) I have been feeling really under the weather. 4) I have had little appetite, which is odd for me 5) I have developed vision that is occasionally blurry, especially at the end of the day.
Avatar f tn If there is anything you can think of that is differant or had changed please add that as well. I hope I can help you or give you some ideas. I had been having alot of shortness of breath as well and did alot of research plus I love to do that as well. Part me thinks I should have been a doctor! I love to research. I think its great for patients to be proactive about their health. I always research my car problems as well. Its best to be knowledgable. I think you get treated better.
