swollen ankles one side

t see my ankles being those round balls on the side of your feet, does that mean my feet are swollen. I only just noticed it today and I really hope I am not swelling because I haven't had it with my other kiddies. I will take a picture and try and load it up. How can I make the swelling go down??

ve always felt I had very sexy ankles lol!!! I have *never* seen my ankles that swollen before and it was just freaky! As for the preeclampsia thing ...I did read about that on a few of the things I looked up last night. That has actually been my biggest concern with my pregnancy ...that and getting gestational diabetes. I'm so concerned, that on my library days (Thurs) I stop by Wal-mart to check my blood pressure (not to mention pick up a Vitamin Water and Dove Dark Chocolate!!)!

Anyway, very swollen ankles are NOT good. Also you unsteadiness should not be taken too lightly. Call your doctor asap.

My body ankles and legs keep on swelling and the doctors cannot find the answer. My ankles swell to the point where I do not have any shoes I can put on, it does not matter a whole lot if my pressure is regular, or if it goes high.

Did you know that due to all the relaxation caused by progesterone that our feet can grow a half to a whole size while we are preggos. And unfortunately, this is one side effect that does not go away after birth. You might try getting your feet measured and invest in another pair of shoes in a good fit.

I am at work at the moment and all of a sudden my foot started stinging. After about 30 seconds the stinging was quite dull but i looked down at my foot and it was huge!!! i elevated it but it just got bigger. I'm on 50mg Imuran and 25mg Prednisolone daily. Wondering if either of these could be contributing but swollen feet and lower legs is supposed to be a rare side effect of Imuran but I've had swollen feet and legs since I started taking it...

The usual answer looking at Amalodipine side effects is swollen feet or/and more common is swollen ankles. I find that this is not the case with me, and want to know my problem. I get spongy feet, where I feel the part of my feet between underside of foot and the underside of bone feels spongy when I walk, it is very uncomfortable, it does not happen all the time but is uncomfortable about 3 days in 7.

I am 46 years old. For the last week or so my ankles have been very swollen. I have a rash, kinda looks like a razor rash, it hurts to the touch. My feet, ankles and lower legs tend to swell most days, especially if I'm up on my feet all day (at work for example). But the doctor isn't concerned. I puff up all day and piddle all night. Perhaps it's just my old blood vessels aren't working as well as they used to. Don't have varicose veins so who knows? I follow a low sodium diet just because it's the smart thing to do. I have noticed that when I take it I get swelling in my ankles. I know that urinary retention is a side effect for the morphine ER, but didn't notice dependent swelling noted. I went off of the drug for a while and had very little swelling, but as soon as I restart it notice swelling to start in my ankles.

Agree w above.. I never had swollen feet/hands w my 1st 2 pregnancies. My 3rd however, I started swelling around 25wks. I couldn't wear my wedding bands. My ankles also would be swollen. I didn't gain a lot of weight only 30lbs total for the entire pregnancy. What I noticed helped me was wearing my tennis shoes, if I did my ankles would not swell. I think having my feet better supported. But my hands stayed swollen the entire pregnancy I had to stop wearing my wedding rings completely.

m on Lithium 300mg twice a day but my doc cut me down to 1 a day because my ankles and legs are swollen up like an elephant. Has anyone else had this happen, does it go away after you are on it for awhile? I;ve been on it 2 weeks and aside from shaking a lot that's the only side effect. I also take Geodon 120 mg. a day. Don't think it was Geodon because it didn't happen until I started the Lithium. I try to drink a lot of water to flush my system out but it's not helping.

however, I have gradually gone off the topamax and have quit taking it for approximately 4 - 5 days. Today I am still stiff (shoulders, knee, wrist and ankles) and my ankles are swollen. Do you think this is still a side effect of Topamax in my system?

lol I got them real bad one night when I was working overnights and my feet, ankles and calves were swollen... I normally have to lay down, prop my feet up to where my legs are above my heart and put an ice pack under my ankles.. Hope that helps.
