Surgical operation positioning

Common Questions and Answers about Surgical operation positioning

operation

Avatar n tn feeling on my left toe right after surgery I had a couple of weeks ago (nothing relating the the spine) I have no idea how this happened, all I know is that I had no such problem before the anaesthesia and operation, but woke up having it. I could not have developed gout or diabetes within the five hours of the operation, for sure, and it is definitely not a case of tight shoes. Help, please!!!
Avatar m tn I am 18 years old and I had a surgical termination on April 4th 2008. Since then I have been bleeding on/off and had two heavier bleeds which i assume were periods. These started around the May 9th and then again around May 22nd. I then bled on/off again but this stopped last week. How soon will my periods regulate, or does this sound like a more serious problem? I read that you return to normal after 6-8 weeks but i dont feel normal. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Back pain after hysterectomy seems to be common. Surgical positioning can cause it. I hope it doesn't last long!
418466 tn?1207114132 Do NOT attempt to remove this drain by yourself. I can understand another vet wanting the surgical report, but it shouldn't stop them from treating your dog. That doesn't sound right to me at all. If you're having problems finding a competent vet, you could try starting with your local SPCA or Humane Society. Explain the situation to them and I'm sure they'll come up with a vet who will happily get this thing safely out of your dog's ear.
Avatar f tn Surgical positioning can cause back pain. Sometimes it just takes some time to resolve but there can be some permanent damage. Hopefully, yours will resolve.
Avatar f tn Sorry for the late response. Surgical positioning can cause back as well as leg pain and problems. I'm curious what type of hysterectomy you had - robotic, laparoscopic, abdominal, vaginal? Has the back pain improved?
Avatar f tn And for the first operation, I had to maintain the position for 3-weeks, for the second - two weeks. That positioning was a lot more bothersome. For those procedure I chose to rent what looked like a massage chair that had a large donut looking cushion to keep my head properly positioned. It was well worth the price. For sleeping I rolled pillows/towels into a 'U' shape to help me keep the face down positioning. Not comfortable but tolerable.
Avatar n tn My mother-in-law lives on her own and is to have an operation for a macular hole, should she come and live with us to help her recovery, as she wants to stay on her own but I think she need to stay here with us. If she does can you tell me for how long and what I need to do to help her.
Avatar f tn I followed all instructions regarding positioning. 10 days after the operation, my doctor told me that the hole was closed, the gas bubble is more than halfway down but I am still not able to see clearly. On top of blurry and slightly distorted images I see a small light dark spot , which flashes when I blink. Can you tell me if this isnormal part of recovery, or something else is wrong? I am 57 and otherwise very healthy.
10869131 tn?1430198496 Went for a version today to try to get baby to go head down and it didnt work, doctor said the positioning wasnt going to let him move. It was really painful tho, they have to push really hard I was so glad when they stopped. So we scheduled a c section for 5-5-15 I like knowing the date! Still nervous about the operation but im sure everything will be fine! Hope everyone is doing well! 2 more weeks and my baby boy will be here!
Avatar f tn I would think your pain should be pretty much gone by 4 to 6 weeks post-op. The back pain may be from surgical positioning. Hope you feel better soon!
Avatar f tn When was your surgery? If it was recently, the hip pain could be from surgical positioning and may just take some time to resolve. I had pain in my right hip not long after surgery and it finally resolved but then transferred to my left hip which also eventually resolved. However, as time went on, my hips started hurting again from the gradual skeletal changes that occur after hysterectomy. My hips hurt especially after sitting too long.
Avatar f tn 100% compliant with post surgical positioning, post surgical instructions, and application of eye drops. Gas bubble has disappeared in the last few days, however, continue to see wavy type lines and black spot in center of eye. Is this normal? Followup with doctor after surgery was very positive upon examination. What should I expect?
7469043 tn?1391055959 Please follow your doctor's advice about your face-down positioning. Don't mess around with this - you may get a better result from your procedure if you follow the instructions. The gas bubble was probably put there to help press your retina back into place to try to make the hole smaller. If you don't hold your head in the right position, the bubble may not push against the right area of your retina and it won't work as well as it should.
Avatar m tn Every surgical operation has its risks depending on your age or if you have other comorbid conditions (hypertension, diabetes, stroke, etc). Complications include difficulty of breathing, heart problems, kidney problems during or after the operation, though these can be minimized with proper pre-operation evaluation (usually by an internist, or cardiologist).
Avatar f tn The procedure takes about 15 minutes, setting up with exrays and positioning took awhile. I know it is hard not to worry, I had my good days and bad while waiting. Thinking of you and wishing you good results.
Avatar f tn they advice for a surgical procedure to relief the pain......how sure iam that surgery would be the best management and what are the precutionary measures,disavtantages..since have hypertention and osteoporosis grade 1..how surgical treatment really be benificial..and how assure iam that it would be successfull...need help bec..there are some cases i knew...sometimes surgical procedure can aggreviate the contidions and there are some...die....
1060769 tn?1254977492 Postponing the operation as long as reasonably possible is a good thing. You avoid unnecessary surgical risks by doing that. A few people actually die during heart surgery. It's not like having your tonsils out. It's a lot more major than that. It's not something to jump into, just to "get it over with." Also, if you can postpone your operation, you may be able to take advantage of advanced surgical technology later on.
Avatar n tn If the percentage is less than 29%, a surgical operation is at a high risk and a surgeon may not recommend an operation as the risk may exceed the benefit. Or the estimated dimensions of the heart may be insignificant, and your mom is relatively good health and the risk is minimal.
Avatar m tn hi i m 26 years old.before 10 month i got surgical operation of varicocele, bith side (grade 2).after operation in mt rt testis infection was seen .i took levoflox500 mg .now my both testis is shrinking while standing.if i lying on bed i do not feel pain..i am wearing tight underwear..i m feeling discomfort....
Avatar f tn Therefore, surgical intervention is essential to remove the large cyst and if permanent damage needs to be avoided. Craniotomy, needle aspiration and cerebral shunts are common surgical treatment that may help. But, surgical modalities may have some complications depending upon size of cyst. Before opting for surgical procedures, you should evaluate both the pros and cons with the help of a neurosurgeon. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn Bow legs or genu varum can be corrected in adults by surgical remodeling. The exact type of surgical technique would depend on the severity and the exact location of the defect. Temporarily orthotic devices may be used to provide symptomatic relief, though a permanent cure may require a surgery in adults. It would be best to consult an orthopedician for a detailed review and appropriate management.
Avatar f tn It was then removed surgically He has not yet been told whether he is to have further chemo sessions. The consultants say they will know in about 2 weeks from operation date. Is this a 'bad sign'; would they not know the extent of the cancer from initial tests that were done, or at least from the time of the operation itself? We are very concerned for him and would be grate for your opinion.
