Avatar m tn I have been diagnosed since surgery with PAD, disease of the aorta arch, gallbladder is swollen and has possible cholecysitis, nerve damage, free fluid of unknown origin and so on. I have a surgical clip that appears to be pressing into my aorta in my abdomen, the report says "the surgical clip appears to be adjacent to the aorta". Several other scans confirm the presence of this clip,it's about 2 1/2". I also have several surgical clips in my presacral location.
Avatar n tn If the percentage is less than 29%, a surgical operation is at a high risk and a surgeon may not recommend an operation as the risk may exceed the benefit. Or the estimated dimensions of the heart may be insignificant, and your mom is relatively good health and the risk is minimal.
Avatar n tn Hello, Repair of the hernia will be done by a gastro surgeon and diastasis of the abdominal wall(tummy tuck operation)will be done by a plastic surgeon. Both are not very complicated procedures but it should be remembered that no surgery even if a minor one is full proof.Complications can arise in any.A partial abdominoplasty (Mini-Tuck Abdominoplasty) can be completed between 1 to 2 hours and a complete abdominoplasty can take 1 to 5 hours.
248382 tn?1274938634 I was diagnosed with an abdominal wall hernia when I had my liver CT back in 2006. It doesn't bother me either and I have yet to have it fixed. I just make sure I'm a bit on the careful side.
Avatar f tn Umbilical (around the bellybutton) can cause abdominal discomfort. Surgical repair is generally avoided unless there is severe pain suggesting the intestines or tissue may be pinched or twisted along with a persistent bulge from the hernia. Best of luck to you and your relative!
Avatar n tn He has existing COPD and a AAA (abdominal aortic aneurysm) He is on a variety of medications. My question is how much higher is mortality when there is comorbid disease present? Also, what is the likelyhood of complications? We are very concerned that if he proceeds with such an invasive surgery that his post surgical quality of life could be diminished. We are uncertain if our concerns are valid. Any information you could provide us with would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.
Avatar m tn Now he is surrering from heavy body edema except two arms and head. Local hospital can not do a surgical operation due to the location of aneurysm. Which hospital in the world can do the surgical operation? Is there any medicine can control further expanding of the aneurysm? Please give me help!
Avatar f tn Laparoscopic hernia repair involves the placement of a mesh inside the abdomen without abdominal wall reconstruction. The mesh is fixed with sutures, staples, or tacks. The recurrence rate of the laparoscopic repair is reported as equal or less than that done with the open approach. So, discuss the possibilities with your doctor. Regards.
Avatar f tn Since you have pain where the stitches are, and you have proof they did not use dissolvable stitches, AND no one will touch the situation, you can most certainly take this up with the people who did the operation, that doc could remove the stitches probably as an outpatient in his office, depending on what else might be going on in that spot.
Avatar m tn I just had a CT done on my abdomen and it showed a surgical clip in my right mid abdomen and one in my lower abdomen. Is this normal?
Avatar f tn I understand your concern regarding this situation, but the best person to ask regarding this would be the person who will be operating on you. Any operation carries its own risk. May it be the risk of aggravating the pain or condition or developing complications such as infection of heart and lung problems. These risks can be present even at the hands of the most experienced surgeons. However, this risk should be balanced with the potential benefits that you could get from the operation.
Avatar m tn At least you are over all the hormone part of it, and can concentrate on the surgical recovery only. Best of luck, and rest rest rest.
279234 tn?1363105249 It grew to the size of a grape fruit and relocated to where my uterus use to be, attached itself to my abdominal wall, bladder, and bowel. I was on blood thinners at the time (warfarin) because of a DVT, and my doctors believe that the cyst was the cause of the DVT because it sat on the arteries and slowed the blood flow to the left leg. In 2010, I had bladder surgery to repair a prolapse. The surgeon found and removed a 7cm cyst on my last remaining ovary (the right).
Avatar f tn It could cause pain in the entire pelvic area because it is inflamed and pulling on things. To be honest I don't remember much about my endometrioma being removed in 2007 however my right ovary is embedded I to the pelvic wall along with my tube and uteter and the pain is all over the right side all the way up to my ribs. Everyone is different and it could be that you have scar tissue all over just not around your endometrioma there is no way to know unless you had surgery unfortunately.
Avatar m tn This term refers to the protrusion of a part of abdominal content (usually intestine) through a weak spot on the abdominal wall. Surgical correction of the abdominal wall defect is usually required. Please have a surgeon evaluate you quickly. All the best, and God Bless!
Avatar n tn The bladder is decompressed. The vaginal cuff and rectum are unremarkable. No evidence of pelvic hematoma or fluid collection to indicate an abscess. Adnexal regions are within normal limits. There are no enlarged lymph nodes. No free pelvic fluid. Bone window examination is unremarkable. Impression IMPRESSION: 1. No acute changes in the abdomen and pelvis following hysterectomy. No evidence of hematoma or abscess in the surgical bed.
Avatar f tn This strange-sounding surgical procedure (which involves the removal of a wedge of the cyst wall and stitching up the rest of the wall to prevent recurrence) is so named because the resulting opened-out cyst resembles the pouch of a kangaroo! Bartholin's cyst is not known to cause cancer. Please relax. Additional information may be available at the link below: http://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Bartholin's+Gland+Cyst All the best, and God Bless!
Avatar m tn If there are any symptoms attributed to this aneurysm - it may be better to undergo an operation. This is because the associated mortality for a planned operation is 1-2% only, if the operation is done as an emergency due to the rupture - the risk for death is 50%. If on the other hand - you don't feel anything - a 2.
Avatar m tn I visualize the inguinal canal as a cylindrical passage, starting inside my abdomen, passing downward through the muscles of my lower abdominal wall, and ending at the top of my scrotum. Can someone explain where the mesh was placed in each of my surgeries? My first thoughts were that it was over the open ends, but now I'm not so sure.
Avatar m tn I live in Delaware. I had a Sphincter of Oddi operation last month. The doctor made a 12 mm cut. I am still having some pressure in the upper right abominal region and want all the pain to go away. Can your recommend another medical procedure that will completely stop this upper right abdominal pain? Will any other medical procedure get rid of this stupid disease? They also ballooned the biliary tubes.
418466 tn?1207114132 Do NOT attempt to remove this drain by yourself. I can understand another vet wanting the surgical report, but it shouldn't stop them from treating your dog. That doesn't sound right to me at all. If you're having problems finding a competent vet, you could try starting with your local SPCA or Humane Society. Explain the situation to them and I'm sure they'll come up with a vet who will happily get this thing safely out of your dog's ear.
