Avatar n tn I have suffering with lots of pulling pains and cramps for a while BUT this week (Thursday) the pains got so bad its waking me in my sleep i went to the doctors who sent me straight to the gyno department the same day. After many internals and scans i was told that my cervix is closed, they can't make out if its blocked or stitched and that i have been having periods but because of the cervix being closed its just sitting there.
Avatar f tn would they not know the extent of the cancer from initial tests that were done, or at least from the time of the operation itself? We are very concerned for him and would be grate for your opinion.

Avatar f tn I have never had a stitch on my cervix but I have had a biopsy taken from my cervix ehich is where the clip off a piece of skin and send it to the lab to be observed. It honestly didn't hurt it was the tiniest pinch. Our cervix doesnt have a lot of feeling. Im sure its well worth it to get the stitch.
Avatar m tn Bow legs or genu varum can be corrected in adults by surgical remodeling. The exact type of surgical technique would depend on the severity and the exact location of the defect. Temporarily orthotic devices may be used to provide symptomatic relief, though a permanent cure may require a surgery in adults. It would be best to consult an orthopedician for a detailed review and appropriate management.
Avatar m tn What are the possiblities of conceiving after surgical abortion? It was done last year August and now I'm ready to conceive and I've been trying since January.
Avatar m tn I live in Delaware. I had a Sphincter of Oddi operation last month. The doctor made a 12 mm cut. I am still having some pressure in the upper right abominal region and want all the pain to go away. Can your recommend another medical procedure that will completely stop this upper right abdominal pain? Will any other medical procedure get rid of this stupid disease? They also ballooned the biliary tubes.
Avatar n tn an abdominal hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus with or sometimes with out the cervix. a BSO bilatreral ( meaning both side) salpingo ( meaning tubes) and ooperectomy( meaning surgical removal of ovaries). So in conclusion you have had you uterus , tubes and ovvaries removed,,,I dont understand the "leave the uterus part" the removal of the uterus is a hysterectomy..
Avatar n tn by definition a hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus with or without the cervix, a seperate operation is called a bilater salphigo Ooperectomy which is the removal of the fallopian tubes and ovaries, they are sometimes removed during a hysterectomy but not technically a part of a hysterectomy. Hyster means uterus in medicial terms.
Avatar m tn Every surgical operation has its risks depending on your age or if you have other comorbid conditions (hypertension, diabetes, stroke, etc). Complications include difficulty of breathing, heart problems, kidney problems during or after the operation, though these can be minimized with proper pre-operation evaluation (usually by an internist, or cardiologist).
Avatar f tn I understand your concern regarding this situation, but the best person to ask regarding this would be the person who will be operating on you. Any operation carries its own risk. May it be the risk of aggravating the pain or condition or developing complications such as infection of heart and lung problems. These risks can be present even at the hands of the most experienced surgeons. However, this risk should be balanced with the potential benefits that you could get from the operation.
1060769 tn?1254977492 Also, if you can postpone your operation, you may be able to take advantage of advanced surgical technology later on. If you have the valve replaced now, you are stuck with the artificial valves and surgical techniques that are available now. The technology is getting better all the time. You probably have been advised that you need to be monitored by a cardiologist from now on. Keep your appointments, so you will know when it is truly time.
Avatar n tn I cannot say whether your mother is cleared from a cardiac standpoint for an operation because I do not take care of adult patients; this will be up to her primary care physician as well as the anesthesiologist and the surgeon. I can say, though, that good cardiac surgical centers frequently perform cardiac surgery in patients much older than 60. Unfortunately, I am not familiar with India to be able to tell you the location of a good cardiac surgical center in Hyderabad.
Avatar n tn If the percentage is less than 29%, a surgical operation is at a high risk and a surgeon may not recommend an operation as the risk may exceed the benefit. Or the estimated dimensions of the heart may be insignificant, and your mom is relatively good health and the risk is minimal.

489786 tn?1255692879 A D&C is a surgical procedure where the doctor dilates your cervix and using either suction or scraping (sorry for the graphic word), removes the products of conception. Usually you are under some type of anesthesia, but that depends on your doctor. I had a D&C on August 6, and the actual procedure was pretty easy.
Avatar m tn Sections reveal fragments from both ecto and endo cervix. Ecto cervix shows no dysplasia. Endo cervix shows foci of papillary endocervicitis, a few cystic glands and inflammatory cells. Multiple sections from the endometirum show complex glands, closely packed, enlarged and with foci of papillary infoldings and budding. The lining neoplastic cells show marked enlargement, nuclear pleomorphism, prominent nucleli and psedo stratification. Areas of necrocis seen.
Avatar f tn But, surgical modalities may have some complications depending upon size of cyst. Before opting for surgical procedures, you should evaluate both the pros and cons with the help of a neurosurgeon. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn A few years ago I had a bowl operation (required because of severe ulcerative colitis) to completely remove my large intestine. I was left with a large scar along my lower abdomen / along my hips (suspected cause of problem), resulting in surgical damage to part of my reproductive organs. I now have an ileoanal pouch / J Pouch. Current Sexual Health: I still have full function in terms of erection and orgasm, however no sperm ejaculates.
Avatar n tn I have a 'dropped surgical clip' in front of my bladder and have a lot of pain like a kidney stone stuck in the ureter. I had a ct scan to look for a stone and if I hadn't gotten my own copy of the report I might never have known it was in there. The report said no stone, so I have to wonder if the clip is causing the pain. If you know someone in the medical field, find out if there's someone they can ask. I have several nurses in my family I'm going to ask.
Avatar n tn Since your bone surgery is extensive, it may take you around six months, at the very least, to recover from the operation. Even if your surgical wound has already healed, you will probably need a lot of physical therapy sessions to restore the function of your knee, and to reduce the pain. The fact that you're 62 also means that healing will be slower, compared to someone who is say, in his twenties or thirties, and had the same surgery.
Avatar m tn Your child will need to be followed by a cardiologist very early, including after birth, to determine the severity of the heart abnormality and then decide about timing of intervention. Fortunately the prognosis for surgical repair of both of these things is quite good.
