My doctor prescribed me trazodone hydrochloride for anxiety, sumatriptan succinate for migraines, zopiclone for sleep, I've been told I can take the trazodone with zopiclone, but I have the new sumatriptan tablets, it says in the medical pamphlet that it is an MAO-A inhibitor and can't be taken with antidepressants/anxiety tablets. Would it be ok to take both the trazodone hydrochloride and the sumatriptin succinate together?

I should also note that the very first time i started getting these facial pain attacks, my first doctor thought it was migraines and prescribed me Sumatriptan. Hello Im sorry your husband is going through this. First how do you know its cluster headaches? Has your husband been to a headache specialist? Where do u live? Google headache specialist in your area. I had 2 cluster headache cycles in my life and they are no joke almost makes migraines a piece of cake. I have a migraine of some degree about 28 days of the month. I get Botox injections, am on Topomax, Sumatriptan, anti nausea meds...the whole works. My life was changed in an instant. I am wondering if anyone has had a similar incident, and recovered??? None of my doctors can say if I will ever be free of these migraines...

I have tried many prescription medications to help with the migraines and have found that sumatriptan has been the best so far. My GP (and my own research) says that hormones levels can be a contributor to migraines. By the way, I am also one of those people who do not have aura before the migraine and very little really seems to irritate me (eg., light,noise).

I would like to know how long after taking Sumatriptan/Imitrex could any drowsiness side effect be considered to have worn off for when I get a migraine away from home and have no reasonable option to get home without driving myself. Cannot tolerate side effects. Sumatriptan injection quickly aborts but only allotted so much per month. Almost out of injections and has no pain relief. Neuro dropped her as patient and advised to find another neuro. He states cant do any thing more fr her. Been to ER. No help. Referred to neuro. Can't get in for 3 weeks. They feel no urgency. But, due to cost constraints, I would suggest getting a prescription for the cheapest generic triptan which is called Sumatriptan tablets. The Sumatriptan tablets work well for many people, so if they work well for you then that would be excellent and you can just stick to them as your only prescription. Although, due to the extremely low bioavailability of Sumatriptan tablets, they do not always work well for everyone (although Sumatriptan is still the most prescribed triptan on the market).
