Common Questions and Answers about Sumatriptan tylenol

imitrex

Avatar f tn 2 times in a day, only twice in a week). My mom has her own medical problems, which include migraines, so I'm switching to her neuro. I've been waiting about 6 months for my appointment, which is finally coming up in March. This guy is very popular, so getting your first appointment is a long wait. I used to feel like my migraines were controllable; they didn't own me, I owned them kind of thing...
Avatar f tn Person who schedules procedures for the surgeon's office gave me the list and told me to check it with what I take. I specifically asked about the Imitrex, but she wasn't sure. Pharmacist said sumatriptan wasn't on list so it should be okay, but I'm still not sure. My mistake about naproxen. It is on the list as naprosyn. So I won't take any aleve. Thanks.
Avatar f tn My doctor prescribed me trazodone hydrochloride for anxiety, sumatriptan succinate for migraines, zopiclone for sleep, I've been told I can take the trazodone with zopiclone, but I have the new sumatriptan tablets, it says in the medical pamphlet that it is an MAO-A inhibitor and can't be taken with antidepressants/anxiety tablets. Would it be ok to take both the trazodone hydrochloride and the sumatriptin succinate together?
Avatar f tn It seems to help most of the time. I am also on sumatriptan for migraines. This was the first time I experienced this constant pain right behind my left eye. Thought the pain was from migraines so I took sumatriptan . So migraines are a throbbing pain on one side?
Avatar f tn I used to take a lot of OTC like Tylenol and Advil to kill the pain. None of these gave me complete relief, and often made my headache worse. I was amazed when Sumatriptan came out in the 90's, as this is the only medication that really works for me. I take it in the form of Imitrex and Maxalt. I wish you and your son the best.
Avatar n tn Apo-Indomethacin and Pms-Sumatriptan was prescribed to me by my doctor. I am also on progesterin to help reduce the amount of headaches, I have been using nasal sprays as well. Month six, no change. Blood tests shows no diabetes, Thyroid, liver or kidney problems. I have been sleeping about 13-14 hours a day. I have a swollen gland on the left side of the back of my neck and has been swollen for about five years, I don't know if it is related.
Avatar f tn Welcome to the forum. I am very sorry to hear you are having bad migraines. I have a long history of migraines and so had to have a med I could take on treatment. I opted for Imitrex because it is okay with the Peg, Riba, and Incivek. Interestingly enough, I have not had any bad migraines on treatment but I think that is because I know most of the migraine triggers and have avoided them like the plague.
Avatar f tn I have had these stabbing pains in the side of my head that feel like an ice pick and they go away after a short time, and my doctor said they are tension related. Does it feel like that? Have you been under stress since these started? Does it help to massage it and then goes away or do they last all day? If they stab you and you massage it and it goes away it is usually tension. If it lasts all day it may be a migraine headache.
Avatar m tn If I was you I would discuss the headaches with my doctor and ask the doctor what would be the best thing to take. Many people take Tylenol for their headaches, but not more than 2000 mg total a day. (Keep in mind, many over the counter medication contain Tylenol, so be sure to read labels.) Because of the previous esophageal bleeding, aspirin should be avoided because aspirin can cause bleeding. Here are a couple of links that may be helpful: http://www.hcvadvocate.
Avatar f tn I should also note that the very first time i started getting these facial pain attacks, my first doctor thought it was migraines and prescribed me Sumatriptan. And the sumatriptan did take the pain away. And I have learned that sumatriptan helps with cluster headaches. Is there any other trigeminal neuralgia sufferers out there, who suffer the same symptoms as I do? Help me please I am very confused about this condition!!! Sarah.
Avatar f tn m having is a nausiating headache that will NOT go away! I usually get a headache after my shot but after tylenol it dissapates, but since last weeks shot this is not the case. In fact, I couldn't get out of bed for four days because of it last week. Has anyone else experienced headaches like these? (Btw I have only had migranes twice in my 31 years and it's been over a year) definitely calling doctor on Monday but wanted to check with you all as well!
Avatar f tn I have a migraine of some degree about 28 days of the month. I get Botox injections, am on Topomax, Sumatriptan, anti nausea meds...the whole works. My life was changed in an instant. I am wondering if anyone has had a similar incident, and recovered??? None of my doctors can say if I will ever be free of these migraines...
Avatar n tn I wanted to know if it is ok to take my amitriptyline after i took my sumatriptan.? Can someone please help me? I took bith pills and i don't know if i was supposed to i can't remember what my doctor said.
Avatar f tn I have tried many prescription medications to help with the migraines and have found that sumatriptan has been the best so far. My GP (and my own research) says that hormones levels can be a contributor to migraines. By the way, I am also one of those people who do not have aura before the migraine and very little really seems to irritate me (eg., light, noise).
Avatar f tn I would like to know how long after taking Sumatriptan/Imitrex could any drowsiness side effect be considered to have worn off for when I get a migraine away from home and have no reasonable option to get home without driving myself. A few years ago, I got a migraine while some distance from home. I do not drive with a migraine.
1102283 tn?1257817472 But, due to cost constraints, I would suggest getting a prescription for the cheapest generic triptan which is called Sumatriptan tablets. The Sumatriptan tablets work well for many people, so if they work well for you then that would be excellent and you can just stick to them as your only prescription. Although, due to the extremely low bioavailability of Sumatriptan tablets, they do not always work well for everyone (although Sumatriptan is still the most prescribed triptan on the market).
Avatar m tn What is going on in there and is there anyway to head it off before it starts. I take sumatriptan, it helps but after its already started.
Avatar f tn What type of headaches did the doctors say you had? This sounds like you might be suffering from "cluster headaches". Cluster headaches are the worst pain that exists pretty much... so, your description of being shot makes me think of that. Also, they are on one side of the head, and usually around the eye. So... the starting point of your headache sounds like it is in the right place for a cluster headache. Also, them waking you up in the night sounds like cluster headaches too.
Avatar n tn have you tryed sumatriptan for the pain? i have the same thing your describing, but i do have periods of remmission.. maybe only a few hours at the most. for the most part i take sumatriptan for the pain. i have no idea why it works but it works for me. if you've been on it than maybe it doesnt work, but if you havent been on it, ask your doc about it. hope any of this helps!
Avatar m tn The thought behind being cool is that the pain is a result of swelling in the nasal cavity/sinuses that presses against a nerve or something and keeping cool means the swelling doesn’t happen. He can take Sumatriptan tablets, which help reduce blood vessels, and these seem to work but he's limited to 8 a month. The feeling he has is that there is a blockage or the nasal valve in the right nostril has collapsed or malfunctioned.
Avatar f tn I am trying to note the pattern and symptoms to see if it is a migraine. I take tylenol and that dulls the pain but it is still there. I do not have a history of migraine in my family, Previous history - I had a meningioma removed from my brain 2.5 years back and have some balance problems, but i never had headaches except for the firs tmonth after the surgery. - 1.
Avatar n tn Hi, How are you? Sumatriptan or Imigran tablets may or may not be taken with food. There are no special considerations with regards to alcohol but this may trigger or exacerbate migraine attack. Avatar n tn Mri and labs checked out ok. Darvocet, tylenol, ibuprofen dont seem to help much. Dr gave me a shot in my neck which helped for two days but also left me with flushing. The same Dr gave me Naproxen and hydracodone but i cannot take the hydracodone as it upsets my stomach and basically does not allow me to function. The front and back of my head hurt as do my neck and jaw. My vision is fuzzy at times and it is difficult to do my job which requires much detail and work on a computer.
Avatar f tn Some people have success treating migraine with ibuprofin (such as advil). For me nothing works except sumatriptan (such as imitrex) for you need a prescription.
Avatar f tn I am now taking sumatriptan injections which masks the pain and also have gone oxygen. I am still suffering daily and have had no success with any medication . I am still under a neurologist who are still not sure why I am getting these horrendous headaches , I have told them I get them when hot . My body overheats and doesn't cool like my temperature gauge is broken.
