Avatar f tn My doctor prescribed me trazodone hydrochloride for anxiety, sumatriptan succinate for migraines, zopiclone for sleep, I've been told I can take the trazodone with zopiclone, but I have the new sumatriptan tablets, it says in the medical pamphlet that it is an MAO-A inhibitor and can't be taken with antidepressants/anxiety tablets. Would it be ok to take both the trazodone hydrochloride and the sumatriptin succinate together?
Avatar n tn I used both, and found that side effects are similar; tiredness, weight gain, and a slow pulse. Side effects are more pronounced as the dosage is increased. I had dosages from 25mg to 200mg. daily. Other reported effects are loss of libido, tightness in the chest, itching, irregular breathing, and irregular heartbeat. If you have any further questions, I'd be happy to respond based on my experience with the drug.

Avatar f tn I would like to know how long after taking Sumatriptan/Imitrex could any drowsiness side effect be considered to have worn off for when I get a migraine away from home and have no reasonable option to get home without driving myself. A few years ago, I got a migraine while some distance from home. I do not drive with a migraine.
Avatar f tn I am glad you have found some relief. As far as side effects, I sometimes have felt sleepy and if I can have a short nap and when I wake usually feel somewhat better. I find also the pill has a bitter taste which can leave a heartburn-like feeling but that is rather short-lived. I once had someone suggest I have my glasses checked as they felt perhaps the prescription could be even slightly off thus resulting in eye strain and headache. Hope all is getting better. Take care.
4319578 tn?1352739861 You asked this question yesterday and Dr. O answered it. Not proven, certainly are side effects.
Avatar f tn t any medications that could help, or, the side effects were as much a problem as the condition I was trying to make better.
Avatar m tn It is succinate, btw. is the succinate supposed to be extended release? It doesnt seem to be releasing at all.
Avatar f tn My problem now is that I read that beta blockers interact with SSRIs and cause the side effects of the beta blockers to become worse. This would cause low blood pressure, slow heart rate, and other problems that result from a lower heart rate. I'm already dizzy from the beta blocker and I cut back my dosage from 50mg to 25mg. Is there anyone else who takes these two meds together? What were the side effects for you? Do you still take them together?
Avatar f tn Can I take Metoprolol Succinate and Indole 3 Carbinol without any drug interactions? I have been taking Metoprolol Succinate for tachycardia for a few years now and have gained weight I was watching the Dr. Oz show and he recommended takig Indole 3 Carbinol for people who carry more weight on the bottom half of their body. It just being vegetables wouldnt seem to effect anything, but I'm juat asking to be on the safe side. I have tried doing my own research but I have not found anything.
Avatar m tn So, I am not a doctor, but one of the side effects I am reading about from Topamax is an increased ammonia level in the blood. Then I read that heightened ammonia in blood can lead to kidney stones, hair loss and confusion...all side effects of Topamax. So, my thinking is that adding water and maybe some milk thistle or other liver supporting supplements may help tip the balance back.
Avatar f tn s typical for me to have migraines on the back of my head rather than my left/right side of my head. Sumatriptan/Imitrex will work, but not how it used to. My migraines are worse than how it used to be, and I'm scared to take sumatriptan because 1) It may or may not work. 2) if it doesn't work, I am now 1 sumatriptan short. My gut feeling says something isn't right, but I don't know how to go about it. Yesterday morning I woke up around 4am with another migraine.
Avatar f tn It seems to help most of the time. I am also on sumatriptan for migraines. This was the first time I experienced this constant pain right behind my left eye. Thought the pain was from migraines so I took sumatriptan . So migraines are a throbbing pain on one side?
Avatar f tn I should also note that the very first time i started getting these facial pain attacks, my first doctor thought it was migraines and prescribed me Sumatriptan. And the sumatriptan did take the pain away. And I have learned that sumatriptan helps with cluster headaches. Is there any other trigeminal neuralgia sufferers out there, who suffer the same symptoms as I do? Help me please I am very confused about this condition!!! Sarah.
Avatar n tn The cardiezem did not seem to help as I had taken a dose 1 hour before my afib actually began. I was struggling with side effects from Cardiezem and asked to have my medicine changed, so I was put on 50 mg Metroprolol Tartrate per day, but began to suffer some nasty side effects--headaches, dizziness, nausea, abdominal cramps, lucid dreams, runny nose, and my heart rate dropped from 75-85 bpm to 45 to 55 bpm's depending on what I was doing.
1102283 tn?1257817472 But, due to cost constraints, I would suggest getting a prescription for the cheapest generic triptan which is called Sumatriptan tablets. The Sumatriptan tablets work well for many people, so if they work well for you then that would be excellent and you can just stick to them as your only prescription. Although, due to the extremely low bioavailability of Sumatriptan tablets, they do not always work well for everyone (although Sumatriptan is still the most prescribed triptan on the market).
Avatar n tn Apo-Indomethacin and Pms-Sumatriptan was prescribed to me by my doctor. I am also on progesterin to help reduce the amount of headaches, I have been using nasal sprays as well. Month six, no change. Blood tests shows no diabetes, Thyroid, liver or kidney problems. I have been sleeping about 13-14 hours a day. I have a swollen gland on the left side of the back of my neck and has been swollen for about five years, I don't know if it is related.
Avatar n tn The only side effects that I had from it were some numbness and tingling in my hands and feet. They say that is pretty normal. I also tried Lamictal, Keppra, and Depakote. The drug that I have found the most relief from is actually an Alzheimer's drug. It is called Namenda. There has been some research that has shown that it helps to prevent migraine. When I first went on it, I went for over 3 months without so much a daily headache.
Avatar f tn My heart rate went down to 72 and the only side effects I had were an upset stomach, restless sleep, and an occasional cough. After those two days however, the pill started to work less and less. My side effects slowly went away and my pulse started creeping up to back where it was. It's currently 84-90 as I type this. I've been taking the pill for 5 days now. Is my body for some reason fighting off the pill? Is it possible to become tolerant to a beta blocker in only a few days?
Avatar m tn Thanks. I am on a small dose because the cardiologist is not convinced I have long qt syndrome. But long qt was measured during tilt table test and my 24 hour holter test and stress tests did not mention long qt. holster test was normal. I am taking the Metaprolol Succinate. My cardiologist is checking into if my insurance will cover genetic testing. Either way I will gladly pay to get genetic testing for LQTS.
956292 tn?1334054869 Liver damage for long term use- in higher dosages- was given as a possible side effect and a mild warning for other possible side-effects. She started with 20mg 3x daily and had dizzy spells from the start and had to quit later, when she found out that she had impaired kidney function. The baclofen goes through the kidneys and puts extra strain on them. Now the sudden discontinuation -after just a few months on it- caused her some withdrawal symptoms on top of the re-appearing older ones.
Avatar n tn for years, and feel no side effects of whatsoever. You should consult with his physician before modifying what he's prescribed for him.
Avatar f tn Consumers have experienced increased blood pressure, increased heart rate and ectopic beats, as well as side effects such as nausea, dizziness and headaches from this generic. Call your prescribing doctor...
Avatar f tn I have been with the same manufacturer of metoprolol succinate for 2 years and had no problems and now they went out of business and the new manufacturer of the same medication isn't working for me!
