Yes, don't use the Sumitriptan or the Naproxen or any NSAIDs before surgery. If the Naproxen wasn't on the list, it should be, because it's an NSAID. With the Imitrex, it would be better to be safe than sorry. I'm not entirely sure, but it seems like it would be a safer bet to struggle through those migraines for the next couple of weeks. I do know for sure with the Naproxen, because it's an NSAID.
The most common anti-inflammatories (NSAIDS - Non-Steroidal Anti-INflammatory) are Motrin (Generic = Ibuprofen) or Aleve (Generic = Naproxen or Naproxen Sodium). I agree - use only one of these. If you use Aleve be careful if you are on Neurontin because is a small amount of cases Aleve will interact with Neurontin and cause a 12 - 15% increase in the absorption of the Neurontin (I know this from first hand experience).
Is nausea,vomiting associated with the headache?You can also try for sumatriptan in combination with NSAID like naproxen.
I was diagnosed with anxiety (again), and told that all my symptoms were a manifestation of said anxiety. I was prescribed Sumatriptan, propanolol, and naproxen. The medication was working, but it didn't last long. My symptoms have worsened, to the point where i cannot go up the stairs without having to stop due to shortness of breath, pain in my heart, and weakness in my legs. I almost always feel a tightness in my chest, and any pressure on my chest causes pain.

Pain Level 4-7 Headache with pain centralized in the front upper right of temple, spreading over and around forehead to left temple but pain less intense in these areas, 3-5
Visual Disturbance, difficult to describe but includes difficulty “zoning in” on objects, makes it difficult to read and hard to focus on the “big picture”, school nearly impossible

Did your neurologist tell you that the fact the side effect of hands and feet tingling is actually a good sign? It has been shown in clinical studies that patients who get the side effect of hands and feet tingling show a MUCH better response to the topamax for migraine relief!! So, the hands and feet tingling side effect and the topamax actually working as a migraine drug go hand in hand... this is a very good sign for you!!
Birth control can make migraines much worse...
I was recently diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and prescribed Plaquenil and naproxen (for swelling and pain relief.) I am on a low sodium diet for meniere's disease. Various pain relievers make me retain fluid......making me too dizzy and light headed to drive. Can you recommend a product, OTC or prescription, that contains little to no sodium? I have read the sodium in pain relievers help to quicken relief of pain......
NO THEY DON'T but Tylenol hurts livers & ibuprofen started screwing with my kidneys. Opioids, however, do much less damage to many more organs.

I would suggest you to maintain your fluid intake and eat on time and avoid heavy lifting for some time.

t have a healthy diet since I eat microwavable and frozen food . Also a high sugar and sodium intake, furthermore I smoke about 3-4 cigarettes a day and I drink half a bottle of wine over a course of 2-3 days per week. The pain on my left side of my testicle is becoming almost unbearable and finding it very difficult to work.
I have Crohns Disease, I have read that NSAIDS are not a good thing to take. I'm having issues with my GI doctor. I have been trying to manage my symptoms of pain(sharp and throbbing) in my lower right and left side of the abdominal area. I asked my GI what to take and he said tylenol. I also asked if I could also take ibuprofen and naproxen sodium because tylenol isn't working well and he said yes, just not at once. This doesn't seem right. Am I wrong in this assumption?
on day 10....today my doctor prescribed me Naproxen for my chronic back pain. I know I could search this, but would rather ask anyone with any experience with it's use. Good idea or not to use after 10 days clean. I dont even know if it's a "mild" narcotic or not, however I believe it's similar to Aleeve. Advice? thanks in advance.
