sumatriptan iv

My doctor prescribed me trazodone hydrochloride for anxiety, sumatriptan succinate for migraines, zopiclone for sleep, I've been told I can take the trazodone with zopiclone, but I have the new sumatriptan tablets, it says in the medical pamphlet that it is an MAO-A inhibitor and can't be taken with antidepressants/anxiety tablets. Would it be ok to take both the trazodone hydrochloride and the sumatriptin succinate together?

It seems to help most of the time. I am also on sumatriptan for migraines. This was the first time I experienced this constant pain right behind my left eye. Thought the pain was from migraines so I took sumatriptan . So migraines are a throbbing pain on one side?

I have done everything to treat them including inpatient iv drugs (3x). relief is getting more and more temporary. the pain always originates in the occipital area. I have some bilateral ear pain, and occasionally my scalp feels inflamed. in addition, when I bend over water runs out my nose and my nose just generally drips water all day long. brain MRI negative. had sinus surgery in 1995. laminectomy L4 L5 in 1995.

Apo-Indomethacin and Pms-Sumatriptan was prescribed to me by my doctor. I am also on progesterin to help reduce the amount of headaches, I have been using nasal sprays as well. Month six, no change. Blood tests shows no diabetes, Thyroid, liver or kidney problems. I have been sleeping about 13-14 hours a day. I have a swollen gland on the left side of the back of my neck and has been swollen for about five years, I don't know if it is related.

Bad news and good news, my fellow dysautonomians (hrm, methinks I just invented a word?) ... The bad news is that my feeling of the fog rolling in yesterday turned out to be the impending doom of one of my really, really bad migraines coming on. For those who don't know, once in a blue moon I have these wicked migraines that put my "normal" migraines to shame.

I should also note that the very first time i started getting these facial pain attacks, my first doctor thought it was migraines and prescribed me Sumatriptan. And the sumatriptan did take the pain away. And I have learned that sumatriptan helps with cluster headaches. Is there any other trigeminal neuralgia sufferers out there, who suffer the same symptoms as I do? Help me please I am very confused about this condition!!! Sarah.

I have a migraine of some degree about 28 days of the month. I get Botox injections, am on Topomax, Sumatriptan, anti nausea meds...the whole works. My life was changed in an instant. I am wondering if anyone has had a similar incident, and recovered??? None of my doctors can say if I will ever be free of these migraines...

I wanted to know if it is ok to take my amitriptyline after i took my sumatriptan.? Can someone please help me? I took bith pills and i don't know if i was supposed to i can't remember what my doctor said.

I have tried many prescription medications to help with the migraines and have found that sumatriptan has been the best so far. My GP (and my own research) says that hormones levels can be a contributor to migraines. By the way, I am also one of those people who do not have aura before the migraine and very little really seems to irritate me (eg., light,noise).

I would like to know how long after taking Sumatriptan/Imitrex could any drowsiness side effect be considered to have worn off for when I get a migraine away from home and have no reasonable option to get home without driving myself. A few years ago, I got a migraine while some distance from home. I do not drive with a migraine.

But, due to cost constraints, I would suggest getting a prescription for the cheapest generic triptan which is called Sumatriptan tablets. The Sumatriptan tablets work well for many people, so if they work well for you then that would be excellent and you can just stick to them as your only prescription. Although, due to the extremely low bioavailability of Sumatriptan tablets, they do not always work well for everyone (although Sumatriptan is still the most prescribed triptan on the market).

re having a severe migraine. and, if they have you on IV liquids it is easy to add these to the IV. anyway. Maxeran ONLY works via injection anyway... it does absolutely nothing for the treatment of migraines if given by tablet. If for some reason you have already taken triptans and strong pain killers prior to going to the hospital, ask for maxeran, even though it is not a triptan or a pain killer, for SOME reason it can completely stop a migraine...

What type of headaches did the doctors say you had? This sounds like you might be suffering from "cluster headaches". Cluster headaches are the worst pain that exists pretty much... so, your description of being shot makes me think of that. Also, they are on one side of the head, and usually around the eye. So... the starting point of your headache sounds like it is in the right place for a cluster headache. Also, them waking you up in the night sounds like cluster headaches too.

have you tryed sumatriptan for the pain? i have the same thing your describing, but i do have periods of remmission.. maybe only a few hours at the most. for the most part i take sumatriptan for the pain. i have no idea why it works but it works for me. if you've been on it than maybe it doesnt work, but if you havent been on it, ask your doc about it. hope any of this helps!

The thought behind being cool is that the pain is a result of swelling in the nasal cavity/sinuses that presses against a nerve or something and keeping cool means the swelling doesn’t happen. He can take Sumatriptan tablets, which help reduce blood vessels, and these seem to work but he's limited to 8 a month. The feeling he has is that there is a blockage or the nasal valve in the right nostril has collapsed or malfunctioned.

I'm 23 yr old female.i feel like Iv almost rode everything out there for my constant head pain. I have three diff types of headache along with chronic neck pain from car accidents. I suffer from almost daily migrianes, constant muscle contraction headaches in my scalp, and chronic tension headaches in base of skull and neck/shoulders. Iv tried preventatives that did nothing but bad side effects. Along with all sorts of pain meds.

Some people have success treating migraine with ibuprofin (such as advil). For me nothing works except sumatriptan (such as imitrex) for you need a prescription.

I am now taking sumatriptan injections which masks the pain and also have gone oxygen. I am still suffering daily and have had no success with any medication . I am still under a neurologist who are still not sure why I am getting these horrendous headaches , I have told them I get them when hot . My body overheats and doesn't cool like my temperature gauge is broken.

Hello...I have always suffered severe knock-you-on-your-booty migraines. There are generalized in either my temples or behind my eyes...like in my forehead. Bright lights hurt more than sound, but sound does hurt if there is too much bass. Sometimes, associated with nausea & dizziness. They are worse right before my periods. Sometimes, popsicles help. I don't know if this matters, but I have to wear earpugs to sleep & play waves really loud because of my loud neighbors.

p.s., my neurologist also has me on 400-500mg of magnesium and she also talked about a high dose of riboflavin. The two together are supposed to help. I take slomag because the regular magnesium gives you diarrhea. Slomag also has calcium so you can't take too much of that either (more then the daily recommended total amount including what you eat) but it can still give you diarrhea if you take over 500mg. But so far it has been a good combo with the Topamax.
