Avatar f tn My doctor prescribed me trazodone hydrochloride for anxiety, sumatriptan succinate for migraines, zopiclone for sleep, I've been told I can take the trazodone with zopiclone, but I have the new sumatriptan tablets, it says in the medical pamphlet that it is an MAO-A inhibitor and can't be taken with antidepressants/anxiety tablets. Would it be ok to take both the trazodone hydrochloride and the sumatriptin succinate together?
Avatar f tn There are some types of migraine that present with numbness also and even with the absence of headache and presence of just aura symptoms like sensitivity to light and sound, nausea or vomiting. Was the sumatriptan effective in reducing the pain? Check with your doctor if it does not improve for proper evaluation. Take care always.
Avatar f tn 2 times in a day, only twice in a week). My mom has her own medical problems, which include migraines, so I'm switching to her neuro. I've been waiting about 6 months for my appointment, which is finally coming up in March. This guy is very popular, so getting your first appointment is a long wait. I used to feel like my migraines were controllable; they didn't own me, I owned them kind of thing...
Avatar n tn The more drastic option for people who get really bad migraines that do not respond to other treatments is sumatriptan in an injection form... your doctor will have to teach you how to inject yourself, but, if it works, it's worth it. Sumatriptan really does NOT work as a tablet, so... if you are taking a tablet form of it, you NEED to get onto another triptan. Talk to your doctor. You could also try taking the following supplements too...
Avatar f tn It feels as if it is affecting every area on the left side of my face.. the most intense pain is in the temple, the eye, my upper teeth and gums, and in my nose. I would have these episodes of pain ususally every 2nd day for about 2 months, until they finally went away. Now one year later they are back. The attacks come ever 2nd night.. usually around 12:30 am - 2:00 am and they are lasting from half an hour to 2 hours. Falling asleep is my only escape.
Avatar f tn I have a migraine of some degree about 28 days of the month. I get Botox injections, am on Topomax, Sumatriptan, anti nausea meds...the whole works. My life was changed in an instant. I am wondering if anyone has had a similar incident, and recovered??? None of my doctors can say if I will ever be free of these migraines...
Avatar f tn A few years ago, I got a migraine while some distance from home. I do not drive with a migraine. I took a sumitriptan, then settled back in my car (in a parking lot) with my eyes closed since the medication works better for me if I can "cat nap", preferably in the dark, for 15-30 min. (light variations/strobic effects are a primary migraine trigger for me). Although it is a listed side effect, sumatriptan doesn't actually make me drowsy.
Avatar f tn I suffered from glandular fever in 2007 and shingles in 2005. In October 2007 I went for a routine eye test and was told myy eyes were except I had a slight deterioration in one eye, my prescription wasn't changed. On the 10th May 2008 I purchased new glasses and at first they felt strange but I soon got used to them. On 6th June 2008 I went to my GP and explained that I had been suffering from a constant left sided headache for 3 weeks, behind my eye of a throbbing, dull nature.
1102283 tn?1257817472 Anyway, because of superior bioavailability of the more expensive triptans is why I suggest getting the back up prescriptions for the Zomig Nasal Spray and the Maxalt-MLTs just in case the generic Sumatriptan tablets do not work for you. But, for cost reasons, fill the generic Sumatriptan tablet prescription first! (as long as the doctor at the clinic agrees) And, try to get samples of what ever triptans the clinic has to hand out if possible, regardless of the brand..
Avatar n tn I wanted to know if it is ok to take my amitriptyline after i took my sumatriptan.? Can someone please help me? I took bith pills and i don't know if i was supposed to i can't remember what my doctor said.
Avatar f tn What type of headaches did the doctors say you had? This sounds like you might be suffering from "cluster headaches". Cluster headaches are the worst pain that exists pretty much... so, your description of being shot makes me think of that. Also, they are on one side of the head, and usually around the eye. So... the starting point of your headache sounds like it is in the right place for a cluster headache. Also, them waking you up in the night sounds like cluster headaches too.
Avatar f tn Also, when a treatment gets approved in the States, it takes some time for it to be approved in Canada as we are behind the U.S.
Avatar f tn Does anyone have any names of docs in Canada who deal with AD. We were vacationing in Australia, both got bit by jellyfish. I had AD for 3 months and it went away. He still has it after 2 years. He was healthy, young 35 yr old with no health issues. It's crazy, I could make a movie out of our experience. Any help is appreciated.
Avatar m tn He had plastic surgery on his nose to correct a raised bump in his nose around 10 years ago. We don’t know whether this had anything to do with the pain he has been having but there was quite a bit of time in-between the surgery and the pain starting. Its limited to the right-hand side of the face and the pain seems to be centred almost behind the tear duct, if not slightly below and towards the nose.
Avatar n tn They say in rare cases trauma at a young age can come back in pyshical symptons later in life. The pain has also spread through face and ears and down arms at times.Sometimes after going to pyshios or chiros my pain levels go down but they have never once left. I have been close to suicidal from the chronic pain and now i spend most my time trying to get my mind of the pain because it becomes self obsessive and you become narcisitic.
341655 tn?1240368839 Imitrex injection provides relief in about 10 minutes. Injections are usually prescribed in people who want quick relief from rapid onset migraine or suffer from morning migraines. Hope this answers your question.
Avatar n tn Hi, How are you? Sumatriptan or Imigran tablets may or may not be taken with food. There are no special considerations with regards to alcohol but this may trigger or exacerbate migraine attack.
