imitrex

Avatar m tn s main ingredient Naproxen sodium is for the relief of inflammation, pain and stiffness. It is commonly taken by persons with arthritis. If you have arthritis you should see a doctor. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I am having trouble determining whether my migraine medication, Imitrex, is one them. Sumitriptan and naproxen are not on the list, but since this drug narrows blood vessels, I wonder if it's best not to take it before surgery.
1102283 tn?1257817472 But, for cost reasons, fill the generic Sumatriptan tablet prescription first! (as long as the doctor at the clinic agrees) And, try to get samples of what ever triptans the clinic has to hand out if possible, regardless of the brand.. all triptans have been proven effective in clinical trials, so they are all worth trying as long as your doctor agrees, especially if it is a free sample.

Avatar f tn make sure that he is doing this. But, if he already is... then, maybe you can ask your doctor about trying a sumatriptan pen. OH! And before trying something as severe as that.. you could try what I do that works for me!! Triptans never used to work for me either!! Until I started to take naproxen (a prescription NSAID that does NOT cause rebound headaches) with my triptan... the triptan on its own does not work 100% and the naproxen on it's own barely works...
Avatar n tn I was recently diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and prescribed Plaquenil and naproxen (for swelling and pain relief.) I am on a low sodium diet for meniere's disease. Various pain relievers make me retain fluid......making me too dizzy and light headed to drive. Can you recommend a product, OTC or prescription, that contains little to no sodium? I have read the sodium in pain relievers help to quicken relief of pain......
Avatar n tn The most common anti-inflammatories (NSAIDS - Non-Steroidal Anti-INflammatory) are Motrin (Generic = Ibuprofen) or Aleve (Generic = Naproxen or Naproxen Sodium). I agree - use only one of these. If you use Aleve be careful if you are on Neurontin because is a small amount of cases Aleve will interact with Neurontin and cause a 12 - 15% increase in the absorption of the Neurontin (I know this from first hand experience).
Avatar n tn I have been having really sharp shooting pain on the right side of my head that starts at the front and shoots to the top of my head. they come so quick and sharp until they almost always make me shout out and sometimes a quick dizziness. they last about 3 hrs. then stop and start up again. I sometimes get a throbing pain in my ears but that don't last long either. has anyone ever experinced anything as this and if so what did you do to stop the pain. I will see my Dr.

Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with anxiety (again), and told that all my symptoms were a manifestation of said anxiety. I was prescribed Sumatriptan, propanolol, and naproxen. The medication was working, but it didn't last long. My symptoms have worsened, to the point where i cannot go up the stairs without having to stop due to shortness of breath, pain in my heart, and weakness in my legs. I almost always feel a tightness in my chest, and any pressure on my chest causes pain.
Business man2 when to take it, ibuprofen/acetaminophen/naproxen sodium/meloxicam, and glucosamine have satisfied my desire for the opinion of another physician. Thank you Walgreens !!
Avatar n tn Pain Level 4-7 Headache with pain centralized in the front upper right of temple, spreading over and around forehead to left temple but pain less intense in these areas, 3-5 Visual Disturbance, difficult to describe but includes difficulty “zoning in” on objects, makes it difficult to read and hard to focus on the “big picture”, school nearly impossible As for treatment, so far I have tried Ibuprofen - No effect Naproxen Sodium - No effect Excedrin - No effect Toradol Shot - No effect Sumatri
Avatar f tn Any aceptamophin medicine is safe but dont take naproxen sodium.
Avatar f tn I have Crohns Disease, I have read that NSAIDS are not a good thing to take. I'm having issues with my GI doctor. I have been trying to manage my symptoms of pain(sharp and throbbing) in my lower right and left side of the abdominal area. I asked my GI what to take and he said tylenol. I also asked if I could also take ibuprofen and naproxen sodium because tylenol isn't working well and he said yes, just not at once. This doesn't seem right. Am I wrong in this assumption?
Avatar n tn Treximet is the only triptan on the market that combines naproxen and a triptan together in one drug... BUT, you and your doctor can easily do this yourself by combining 2 prescriptions together, you don't NEED to take treximet to do this!! You can take zomig + naproxen (it's a nasal spray triptan + the tablet naproxen) OR maxalt + naproxen (a quick dissolve tablet triptan + the tablet naproxen) OR injectable sumatriptan + naproxen (it's an injectable triptan + the tablet naproxen).
Avatar n tn The same Dr gave me Naproxen and hydracodone but i cannot take the hydracodone as it upsets my stomach and basically does not allow me to function. The front and back of my head hurt as do my neck and jaw. My vision is fuzzy at times and it is difficult to do my job which requires much detail and work on a computer. Also had a moment where I would look at a particular document and know that I was upposed to do something with it but for a few seconds did not not know what to do.
Avatar m tn NO THEY DON'T but Tylenol hurts livers & ibuprofen started screwing with my kidneys. Opioids, however, do much less damage to many more organs.
Avatar n tn When you have kidney disease, your kidneys may not be able to eliminate enough fluid and sodium from your blood. The extra fluid and sodium increases pressure in your blood vessels, causing edema. Edema associated with kidney disease usually occurs in your legs and around your eyes. Kidney damage. Damage to the tiny blood vessels in your kidneys (glomeruli) that filter waste and excess water from your blood can result in nephrotic syndrome.
Avatar m tn //www.headachedrugs.com/archives/exercise_induced.html I would suggest you to maintain your fluid intake and eat on time and avoid heavy lifting for some time. Keep us posted.
1454009 tn?1285191093 I had carpal-tunnel syndrome 10 years ago, and since the operations, no pain. Ten years ago, Naproxen Sodium was a prescribed medication. Today, Naproxen Sodium is the main ingredient in the OTC Aleve. Aleve is so potent, it can burn your stomach lining if it is not followed with a glass of liquid, whether water, juice, cola, milk. I use Aleve today for muscle pain. Why not do an experiment on yourself and use Aleve. The daily maximum dosage is three tablets or soft-gels a day.
Avatar f tn 2 times in a day, only twice in a week). My mom has her own medical problems, which include migraines, so I'm switching to her neuro. I've been waiting about 6 months for my appointment, which is finally coming up in March. This guy is very popular, so getting your first appointment is a long wait. I used to feel like my migraines were controllable; they didn't own me, I owned them kind of thing...

Avatar f tn t have a healthy diet since I eat microwavable and frozen food . Also a high sugar and sodium intake, furthermore I smoke about 3-4 cigarettes a day and I drink half a bottle of wine over a course of 2-3 days per week. The pain on my left side of my testicle is becoming almost unbearable and finding it very difficult to work.
Avatar m tn re just making it that much harder for each system to process them easily. have you tried things like aleve? Naproxen sodium I have found to be a superior pain reliever as far as OTC medications (non prescription) go :-). I mean if you trust your doctor then you trust our doctor and do what he says, but I personally would not for any length of time...maybe one or two doses once in a blue moon.
