1277082 tn?1344057820 Femara is a postmenopausal drug but when women with low estrogen or PCOS take it it triggers FSH to be released from your brain causing a follicle to mature and ovulate. It has less side effects than clomid. Also clomid increases your chances of developing breast cancer later in life where femara does not, And clomid does not pick a single follicle to mature it tries to mature many, so you may not ovulate with clomid and you might develop more cycts.

Avatar m tn I have a great concern that my mother’s family practitioner is over prescribing percocet’s to her. Drug addiction runs in our family and we lost our brother to an overdose last year. She had a knee replacement last February and we think he is prescribing these medications for knee pain. She doesn’t go to her orthopedic any more. We found one prescription dated 12/11/12 for 60 pills and then another from the same doctor filled on 12/27/12 at a different pharmacy. What can we do?
Avatar m tn What is the difference between the prescribing of it? Such as, why would a Dr. prescribe you the pill form instead of the liquid form, or why would they prescribe the liquid instead of the pill? I understand Hydrocodone comes the same way. I know they prescribe it in liquid form, the actual name is Hycet, and then you have the regular pill form.
Avatar m tn Valtrex is an acyclovir prodrug. Greatly simplified - you swallow valtrex and your body converts it into acyclovir inside the body. You get more active acyclovir available to kick a little herpes butt by doing it this way. That's why you take valtrex less often. We don't have studies to confirm that acyclovir reduces transmission the same amount as valtrex does but we assume it does. http://racoon.com/herpes/v_a_compare.
Avatar n tn thanks for the info
Avatar m tn While searching for some info today, I found this link. The purpose of the scientific study in the link was "To examine clinical response to thyroid replacement therapy in patients considered to be clinically hypothyroid but with normal thyroid biochemistry." The following describes the study and the results.
Avatar n tn From my understanding, there's no difference. My doctor recommended prescribing prenatals because he thought it would be cheaper for me if my insurance paid for it. But I decided to stick with the over the counter prenatals I was already taking since they settle better in my stomach.
1168718 tn?1464983535 Hi. I did a search on Zoplicone, never having heard of it before, and found this thread on another MedHelp forum. http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Addiction-Substance-Abuse/ADDICTED-TO-DIAZAPAM-AND-ZOPLICONE/show/49041 There were some other bad references, too. As others have said, each person has different reactions and responses to each medication.
Avatar m tn First find a new doctor, even if they werent the one prescribing for you they should help you.Mine did and was very helpfull and understanding. The one who was prescribing me my pills offered no more help then a taper plan. Go to the top of the page and go to the health pages and check out the thomas recipe and use accordingly. It really does help releave alot of the symptoms you are feeling. How long were you on the pills for? Keep posting and great work on 5 days!!!
Avatar f tn I read your other thread and now this one; I'm not sure what you're asking here. Do you want our advice on how to taper off Xanax? Just need some support? There are many helpful members so just be a little clearer and we'll try to help.
Avatar n tn Go online and look up any of tons of websites that will list this info, such as Mayo Clinic, Drugs.com, man, there are a ton of them. Just google the med you're taking and the med you want to take and ask if they are okay to take together. Your prescribing doc should also know this.

Avatar f tn encourage your provider to read the prescribing info. it's very clear there that no routine testing is needed. you also have every right to refuse testing. just be clear that you don't want it done since you can't afford it and it's not necessary.
