I have had pain in both knees for about a week now. I can hardly stand to bend my knees..like when I sit down..they do hurt some even when I am standing or sitting, but not as bad as when i start to sit down. I have had 2 back surgeries..the last in 2004. I have gained about 30 pounds in the last year. I have never had knee problems, and am wondering if it could be coming from my back .
For five weeks I have had severe pain in both my knees, the left is the most painful. I am having a hard time getting a doctor to find out what the issue is. 5 weeks ago I got the flu, never had it before and it really made me sick. At the same time or just before I started to get sore knees which got worse and worse to the point the pain makes me want to throw up.
I have pain in my both knees. Mostly, only after doing exercise it got swollen and pain started. I have done some particular exercise but no use. But, I got permanent swelling from last 3 weeks and pain also. Pain is in my lower and upper part of knee. I tried cooling and hot cycle belt of wrap but still pain exists. This all started from nov 07. I never had injury with my knees. Completed my blood test and routine check up in January 08 but everything is normal.
What could this be....I am 34, somewhat active, ideal weight. I have been having lower leg aches in both legs. It's the knees down. I noticed that my knees have been really sensitive. If I bump them against something or even kneel on them they are sore. The discomfort I am feeling is from the knees down. It's a disomfort almost like a burning achy feeling. I noticed also that the discomfort does not go away when my legs are elevated.
t go to play it keeps healing itself even after the very first time when I had this pain and I took rest for 2 weeks there was no pain in both knees. But while playing due to sudden jurk to right knee started paining.
Looking at these conditions do you think it can be really serious injury?

My son is 6 years old and very active. He has had pain in both his knees for a few weeks now. The pain has gradually got worse, and he says it is under his knee cap and when pressing the back of his leg in the knee area, it is very painful. He has seen the GP but he has just given him ibuprofen, and told us to keep an eye on him! The other day he could not walk because of the pain and I am very worried about what this could be?
About 2 weeks ago, I began experiencing a sharp pain in both my knees while walking. During the course of these two weeks, the pain and occurance has gotten much more severe. It has become very uncomfortable to lay in certain positions, sit in certain positions, and walking has become extrememly difficult. The pain gets so intense that it leaves me in tears. I have also noticed random bruising around the knee that I cannot explain how it got there.
Torn meniscus cartilage, 2 knee scopes (arthroscopic surgeries), and finally a total knee replacement. If your knee is swelling, especially in the morning after sleeping, it may be a torn meniscus cartilage. The older we get, the more brittle our cartilage becomes and the more prone it is to damage from impact, etc... I have had lots of injuries over the years but the knee had the worst pain of all.
I began having knee pain one and a half months ago in both knees. I have pain on the inner side of my left knee (as well as pain in my right knee that is supposedly because of a cyst but it's a different pain than in my left knee). I have experienced the same thing, sudden onset joint pain first in my right knee then to my left knee then to both elbows and wrists all over the course of a few days.
The doctor said I was neg. for gout, rhum. arthritis or anything else. I started taking motrin 3 times a day to cope. Then I read where Yoga can relieve arthritis symtoms, so I started doing Yoga. The benefits have been stellar! Ive regained motion and dont need nearly as many pain killers as before.
er and swimmer I am pretty fit and active in every other way, and do not experience any other pain in any other knee position or activity with my knees. There is no pain inside my knee joint or to the sides or behind my knees. When I press my fingers on my knee I can feel that is a bit grissly in small areas with some sensitivity. Any ideas on the reason would be appreciated.
I have osteoarthritis in my left knee, but suddenly I hurt all over - both hands, both hips, both knees, both feet, both elbows, both shoulders. I can't sleep because of the pain, and I can barely walk down the stairs each morning. I stand (in pain) most of the day (I'm a teacher) but when I sit for even brief periods, I get very stiff. My late mom had Rheumatoid Arthritis. The funny thing is, I do not have much swelling.
s been like a month maybe more and now not only is it hips and knees i have sensation of pain all through my legs especially down by my shin area and ancle and my knee pain went from hurting when i bend it to aching when it wants and cracking ones in awhile i don't no for sure but i think my shin area in some spots is sore but yeah my legs ache to i hope it's scatica becuase i just had a full blood and urine test and everything was negetive so i hope arthrtis or nerve but i don't no.
Really can't stick this pain much longer !! Having really bad pain in both knees can't walk up stairs or down hurts to bed or even sit someone help !!
I can wiggle both of them around freely when my knees are straight. The kneecap usually should ride in a groove, but mine really don't. There is very little keeping them in.
But I'm just very concerned about the popping/snapping feeling directly behind my knee. I've been doing a lot of stretching and icing, but the problem seems to be getting worse. I'm having an MRI done on it tomorrow, so hopefully that will help determine what's wrong.
I just got an MRI and was diagnosed with a damaged meniscus in both of my knees. This might be the reason of the pain. But as they also found fluid in my knees (caused by the damaged meniscus) there could be also so called Baker Zysts (collections of fluid behind the knee) which cause pain.
Another thing that came to my mind when they told me about the fluid, is some kind of arthritis. I read that arthritis can cause nodes (not lymph nodes).
I am a 44 year old female and I am having a throbbing knee problem. Both knees, radiates from knee up to lower back and sometimes down shins. The pain is not sharp, but a constant dull ache. I describe it like striking a tuning fork... the pain starts in my knees and then radiates out to the other areas. I do get sciatic nerve problems sometimes too. The pain keeps me up at night.
