Common Questions and Answers about Suboxone withdrawal protocol

suboxone

Avatar m tn just will not tell you (unlike Suboxone) that will help me get through the withdrawal side effects of taking 200mg/day or more of Oxycontin for over a year now? Trust me I have tried alot including Suboxone and tapering, nothing really works. Even rehab, made it through but then right back on after a month.
Avatar n tn The persob above is correct im in a program and you have to wait lo ger or it will not o ly cause withdrawl but make it worse. You have to wait until you feel pretty crappy. But if yiu do it right you will never deal with full on withdrawls i promise. I had a worse case then most and i still barely felt bad just a little sick for the first 2 days nausia and tiredness but NOTHING like the full on withdrawls.
Avatar f tn What can u take all natural to make you have energy after coming off suboxone?
Avatar n tn I have had my last dose of suboxone today. I am taking myself off after almost 2 years and numerous failed attempts to taper off. I have been in the wothdrawals before, and only lasted two weeks and could not take it anymore. I would really like tips and advice from those who have made it through on how you dealt with the withdrawals. The sub0oxone withdrawals were worse than anything I have ever taken, so I am really nervous about this.
Avatar f tn His plan is to switch over to withdraw starting tomorrow- Friday- and move over to suboxone at 5 am Monday morning. He has to work on tomorrow and Saturday-he is a facctory worker and they have 0 tolerance for absence- even sick days are cause for termination. He ned this job to pay for his treatment- which is not covered by his medical insurance... I guess my question is: How bad is this weekend gonna be? Is there anything we can give him that will help him through it?
Avatar f tn I agree with the doctor visit to get your suboxone. You've been in some serious trouble if you've done Norco's that long along with the fetanyl patches. I believe that you're going to need a suboxone therapy in order to safely withdraw. My addiction was very similar to yours. Once all those opiates are gone, you'll slip into a heavy withdrawal unless you take steps to alleviate the suffering. Sounds like you're already in a withdrawal mode.
Avatar m tn I finally decided to attempt to stop using Suboxone. When I first took it you had to be a state of withdrawal. It did help some but still had fatigue and depression. I am imagining that it is not entirely helping due to the way that Tramadol affects serotonin and noripinephrine. Does anyone know of a way to use another drug to successfully quit tramadol?
Avatar f tn I am now three weeks out, and I am still feeling the effects of the withdrawal. The first two weeks were very similar to any opiate withdrawal, except for the time period it lasts. In addition to the normal cold sweats, loss of appetite, extreme nausea, and diarrhea, I have continued to experience insomnia and body shudders (mostly my chest shuddering).
Avatar n tn It has been 8-9 days without Suboxone. I missed a schedule appointment and got dropped from my doctor, having to go cold turkey. Body aches, body jerks, feeling like my skin is on fire, and electric shock type feelings through my body just don't seem to quit. How long will this last?
Avatar f tn Here me out. I was on suboxone 8 miligrams did ocs for 2 years. Suboxone is great you can deffianntly feel it ven if u are addicted your not high your just happy, and waht to get stuff done and feel like you used to. Now this si the fastest was I got off suboxon,. I had gotten methadone pills and took 1 a day for exactly 2 weeks, not one day more because then I would just get addicted to that.
Avatar f tn If someone starts treatment on Suboxone, should they also take the vitamins listed on the Amino Acid Protocol, or should they wait until after they are completely off the Suboxone? Flmagi, I have PM'd you with a few other questions. Thanks.
Avatar n tn ” I withdrew from tramadol a few years back and was fine after 23-25 days. I have heard that Suboxone is so strong that the withdrawal period lasts a lot longer, but no doctor I have seen seems to know anything about this potent drug. Any information about the Suboxone withdrawal process would be greatly appreciated as this has already gone on a lot longer than I or my doctor expected. Thank you so much!
1538123 tn?1294017383 Maybe you need to find a doctor that can prescibe Suboxone where U live. Talk to your Doctor about Suboxone or Subutex. They are for narocotic dependence. I am on Suboxone and it takes the WD and cravings away and you feel normal. Talk to your doctor about these 2 drugs and let him know you are addicted to pain killers.
Avatar f tn hello, i've been on and off suboxone for about two years...started with oxycontin which lead to smoking heroin and some suboxone use scattered in between. i was never really serious about quitting pills/H until the beginning of this year so i went to a doc and got a prescription for subs. i've been taking them for the last few months and recently decided not to refill my script. so, i tapered down to a nibble a day and was doing that for a couple weeks...
Avatar f tn Hi sphinx, and welcome! The Thomas Recipe is a protocol of vitamins and supplements and other things that will help with the symptoms of opiate withdrawal! There is a link at the bottom of this page, and you can check it out! So, what is your story? Are you looking for some help and support with quitting a substance! We can help! If you can, post some information about you! What is your drug, how much and how long have you been taking it, etc! Take care and keep posting!
Avatar f tn What is preventing you from going cold turkey and getting off the pills altogether? None of us like withdrawal as it is unpleasant but I would hate to see you go on another pill that is just as addicting and find yourself unable to get off of that. I know of very, very, very few people who have come off of Suboxone and not used. That's the cold hard truth. Suboxone can be a great tool if used properly in conjunction with therapy or some form of outside support.
610505 tn?1329603723 I never get many responses, but Id appreciate if someone out there with some experience and knowledge about Suboxone to reply..please. Experience Sub users, or ex users of Sub only please. Thank you. I have been off all pain meds 12 days now. However on the 8th I started back on Sub. That day I told my Dr. that I only wanted to be on it for 5-7 days (just to get over the worst of the w/symptoms. He suggested at least 6 weeks.
2094867 tn?1333064139 I would get potassium, and magnesium as well. I also got the 5 HTP. I tapered to a very low dose of 3/4 a day and took withdrawal ease 4 days before quitting hydrocodone. Good luck to you!! It helped md st night too!
Avatar f tn Unfortunately my suboxone withdrawal is worse than the oxy withdrawal I would have gone through. RLS, achy, etc. All the normal withdrawal symptoms. I have not had RLS in the past and I will give you a tiny bit of GOOD news - the RLS has definitely stopped. My last sub was 9 days ago. The worst days with the RLS were day 5 and 6, but I am good now. Still in withdrawal, but that symptom has subsided. Hot showers are a lifesaver. Also try putting a heating blanked across your legs.
Avatar m tn Thank you for your comments, it is helping me, as well, to get through my suboxone w/d's. I understand I got myself here but I knew nothing of suboxone until I was in detox for a vicodin and an alcohol habit. I was addicted for the second time to vikes...this time for 3 months. I was actually told by my doc that if I tapered off slowly, I would have NO w/d symptoms from the subs. So, I refuse to believe that this is completely my fault. I trusted my doc.
Avatar f tn You're certainly in the right place to get support. What is Watson 540? Is it oxycodone or hydrocodone? First I'll say that I was not addicted but rather physically dependent. I didn't like taking so much medication and I've tapered off nearly everything. (At the moment I have to stay on a small amount due to some health issues.) Since you got them from a doctor, were you having pain? If so, what kind.
Avatar f tn I am also aware of the many research studies that demonstrate less-severe withdrawal from Suboxone compared to withdrawal from agonists in 'blinded' research trials. Finally, a number of treatment centers use Suboxone as a 'tapering agent' to help people get through opiate withdrawal. Again, I talk in greater detail on the blog, but one final comment: the withdrawal is unusual in several aspects from what people usually expect.
Avatar f tn Most people on this forum report that Sub withdrawal is waaaay worse than withdrawal from their drugs of abuse. Before you detox, go ahead and at least try some NA or AA meetings. Get your support system in place before you quit and you're far less likely to relapse. Check out the Thomas Recipe and/or the Amino Acid Protocol health pages here at Med Help. If you scroll nearly to the bottom of the screen, you see them on the right side of the page.
