Suboxone withdrawal duration

Common Questions and Answers about Suboxone withdrawal duration

suboxone

Avatar f tn Could I get a little feedback on the duration of Suboxone withdrawal? I just read where someone said it has been 45 days and they are still not quite there. If this is the case, I plan to make an appointment with my shrink tomorrow so I can beat the livin' daylights out of him. He told me about 5 days. This is the man that prescribes Suboxone. I was addicted to opiods for 18 years. I might even be a good resource on hard core withdrawal. I have been through it more than two dozen times.
Avatar f tn I actually have a question for you - do you know how long I could take the suboxone for before I become dependent on it? anywhere from 3-5 weeks is the duration of methadone withdrawals. I fear that if I take the subs for that long that I will get addicted. I got only 60 8mg tablets and I will not use them all.
Avatar m tn I was taking oxycodone for back pain and when I was done months later I withdrawaled from it and got right on suboxone. now if I was told I would withdrawal from the oxycodone I would have never taken it in the first place but I went to suboxone and wasn't told about withdrawal from that either actually I was told that because of wening I would not go though that. But I quit subs cold turkey and my mind is not completely normal but then again how do I know what normal is.
Avatar m tn hi hope someone helps with this. I want to start on suboxone short term for a week to stop the wds. Can I take a half in the morning if I take my last perc at 7pm. Is 12 hours enough time to take.
Avatar n tn As I have said many times, the reason people think that Suboxone withdrawal is so horrible is only because people can sometimes taper off Suboxone, whereas they almost never taper off vicodin or oxycodone. In general, the withdrawal depends on the tolerance (which relates more to the dose you have taken than to the time you have taken it), the half-life of the drug, and the potency of the drug. Vicodin contains hydrocodone, which is intermediate potency and intermediate half-life.
Avatar n tn i have been on suboxone for 21/2 years and for the last few months I have been trying to ween off. It is a hard drug to get off of please be prepared if your not you will not make it. You will have some withdrawal it's different for everyone. Do your research. Are you getting them from a doctor? If so have you told him you want off.
Avatar m tn i have been on suboxone for 9 mths now i started on 8 mlg and am on 0.5 now.i feal like i do need to take it anymore but am kinda scared that i could go threw withdraw was wondering if anyone has just stoped on a small amount and how they felt?
Avatar f tn The standard of care for opioid dependent pregnant women is to use methadone or buprenorphine (Suboxone). BUT I would NOT recommend either in your case, as the dose of opioid you are taking is MUCH lower than the effects of buprenorphine. In fact, taking Suboxone would be like taking 15 or more Vicodin (hydrocodone) tablets per day!
Avatar f tn re on Sub or has he known this throughout the duration of your pregnancy? Typically, women on Suboxone are usually switched to Subutex, as it's considered a little bit less risky (Subutex doesn't contain the Naloxone that Suboxone does). "I let him know I was taking a small dose and he thinks the baby will be fine if I just go through the withdrawals now. " No, I disagree. That's not the standard approach.
Avatar f tn t require extensive care from the nicu like most babies born to suboxone withdrawal. Your baby will likely experience some withdrawal but they monitor closely and make sure that they don't suffer.
Avatar n tn How long will suboxone withdrawal last? I am at 39 days off suboxone and still experiencing mild withdrawal. I was on sub. for around 2 1/2 yrs. and jumped off at 12mg. It is definitely not as bad as the first few weeks but this is lasting forever. I had to withdraw from college this quarter and haven't been back to work for a while. Is anyone going through the same situation?
Avatar f tn I am also aware of the many research studies that demonstrate less-severe withdrawal from Suboxone compared to withdrawal from agonists in 'blinded' research trials. Finally, a number of treatment centers use Suboxone as a 'tapering agent' to help people get through opiate withdrawal. Again, I talk in greater detail on the blog, but one final comment: the withdrawal is unusual in several aspects from what people usually expect.
Avatar f tn I have appointment with my doctor June 6, I want to tell him about Suboxone. Anyone has used suboxone to help with withdrawal symptoms? Please write or email me at; ***@****. We did tried tapering down but was very hard, the pain was horrible, the flu like symptoms were so bad, diarrhea, vomiting, what’s worst depression and I felt like I can’t breathe. Please someone help let me know if easy stoping tramadol with suboxone was. Thank you.
1013208 tn?1256824731 If you did the HCs for a month or more after going off of the suboxone, you're just going to go through regular opiate withdrawal. If you were going through suboxone withdrawal (just in my experience) you probably wouldn't have the fatigue, just the RLS and insomnia for a month. If you're in full withdrawals (which it sounds like you are), then I don't think the suboxone will haunt you.
Avatar f tn I would be reluctant to go off any opiate while on interferon therapy; the risk of depression from the interferon is quite high, and the opiate withdrawal could precipitate a very serious depression that requires stopping treatment for the hep C. There are a number of reasons people have trouble stopping Suboxone; the biggest reason is because it is hard to stop ANY opiate, including Suboxone.
Avatar f tn Hey, have been dependant on methadone/ suboxone /subutex /methadone for 13 years. I returned to methadone as was best option during pregnancy.(fortunately baby had no withdrawal symptoms). Haven't used heroin for about 5 years but so scared of withdrawal, thought i would be on one of the above for life. Baby now 19mths & have been withdrawing slowly so can still fulfill parental (single). I am currently on 4mg and have conflicting info regarding what to do next.
Avatar m tn How long were you on boxs? I've been in the clinic for 2 weeks and doing one a day. Will I detox?
Avatar m tn Tramadol might help with withdrawls but it's not a narcotic soo I dunno man. But I was on about 10 10mg hydrocodone ,1 to 2 40 mg oxys, about 2-5 somas a day, mind it if I made more money at work that week( commission job) it was significantly more that that, with fentanyl suckers/ patches, the 100mcg, oxymorphone, roxys, ect. But I got on suboxone, and that helped with the withdrawls better than anything and it's not methadone.
1929972 tn?1328548262 Anyone try this before? I have a hard time with the suboxone because of the long duration of withdrawal. But I am walking a fine line weening with morphine. But I've felt like I've been in withdrawal pergatory. Not sure yet if the suboxone helped me or hurt me.
Avatar n tn The idea is the patch keeps you from feeling the effects of the suboxone withdrawal. My Doctor said it takes on average three months for suboxone to leave the blood stream. In my case it took longer. I've been off suboxone since may 2008, and off fentanyl since august 2008. I'm still a wreck, fatigue, loose stoole, depression, anxiety, insomnia, constant sneezing, stuffy nose, watery eyes, etc....I've been off of everything for one month, and things got worse before they got better.
Avatar m tn Hey I'm on suboxone, I've been on it for almost 2 years now... Were just getting ready to tapper.. Kinda scared of what your CURRENTLY going threw... Did you just start tappering down?
