suboxone

Avatar f tn Yeah in america thats what they are doing also but what the wont admit is that suboxone does help with pain quite a bit.
Avatar n tn yea i planed oni going on suboxone when i get down to a small amount of oxycontin. i cant go on it now because i get sick everytime i try becasue i have to many opiates in my system. i was wondering if you knew anything about suboxone ? what amount i should be at before i start the program ?
Avatar f tn I'm not too familiar with oxy or suboxone, but I take norco, and I hear that suboxone is a good treatment if used correctly. I know it's hard to stop opiates, but you could try tapering if he's willing. It's a little easier than going cold turkey, but takes a lot of dicipline.
Avatar n tn There will be no withdrawal with the Suboxone since you are only on it for such a short period. I was on it 16 days, and I had no withdrawal. So, once the physical is over, be very careful of the mental withdrawal, i.e., cravings..etc. You should have a plan in place to deal with that.
Avatar n tn MD says that the Oxy w/d is complicated by the Suboxone w/d (which had been masked by the Oxys.) If that makes any sense. My question is does anybody have experience with oxycontin taper? Reduce by how much for how long, etc? I need to be as "not-sick" as possible to allow me to do post-op physical therapy.
Avatar f tn Suboxone is used for pain management but it was intended for opiate withdrawal. I assume you do know you can not take the suboxone with any type of opiate as it will make you very ill. As far as using for post surgical pain I would not think it would provide enough pain relief for you. When you do decide if you do to take the suboxone again make sure all the opioids are out of your system.
558096 tn?1255887002 finally i found a doctor who i felt comfortable with, who was liscensed prescribed suboxone. due to the dose i was taking, i was unable to do the out-patient program, and therefore had to the in-patient, which requires staying a night in the clinic (usually a 24 hr procedure).
Avatar f tn I am assuming that he will have w/d symptoms if his brain is not flooded with oxycontin on a steady basis. The fentanyl patch is the strongest medication in the world and he does not want this b/c for some reason should he have to go off this, he could not go through such intense w/d because subs won't be strong enough to cover this, only methadone will according to the suboxone doctor on here.
Avatar n tn Glad that the sub is working for you and you are getting your life back. Keep Posting...
Avatar f tn To me suboxone took away my craving for oxycontin but is by far the best pain killer too, that I have taken. I have found out through many sources oxycontin is positively the worst thing you can take for your body. It will destroy everything and make you worse. Please believe me cus I've gone through absolute hell. In some communities they try to keep suboxone a secret so rehab centers can make their big bucks, but there are special licensed doctors that can prescribe suboxone at clinics.
Avatar f tn The answer to your question is yes. Suboxone stops W/D's and holds them at bay - until you try to stop the Suboxone. The W/D's will then come with a vengence. I recommend you go to the Health Pages -- (top right side of this page) and look for a post titled "Members Experiences coming off of Suboxone." It may enlighten you to read of several peoples exerience with this powerful narcotic. All the best.
Avatar f tn Dear Doctor, I am trying very hard this evening to find an answer to this difficult question. Can the highest dose of suboxone work with w/d for at the very most 500mg opiate addiction? What is the ceiling of opiates that sub will cover? I have a friend in desperate need of sub treatment. When I started sub, I was a 320mg a day maximum oxycontin user (mostly 160mg)but tapered down to 80mg 5 days before induction and did fine.

Avatar n tn How can I best help my niece (age 51) with her with her withdrawal. Approximately one year ago she was prescribed Oxycontin (180 mg per day) for relief from pain of fibromyalgia, DDD and carpal tunnel. Her doctor stopped prescribing about 7-8 months ago and she has been getting it from a friend. She is tired of the addiction and seems determined to kick it. I want to help her succeed but need some advice.
Avatar n tn Over the past 10 years I have been on many pain meds to help with these symptoms. I have been on Oxycontin about 4 times and have stopped using it because the drug demands you to increase the dose and I am not willing to become a slave to these drugs. I have been on just Percocet 5-10mg about 3 times a day for about 3 years. No, it doesn't always help the pain, but I refuse to take any other drug. I feel now that the pain is from tolerance.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed oxycontin a year ago after diagnosed with spinal stenosis. I became addicted to them and although I am prescribed 3 20's a day I do 5 or 6 a day. I wanted to go on suboxone and found a sub doctor. I just spent the last 24 hours in withdrawls preparing to go in today and see the doc and leave with a prescription for sub.
Avatar n tn I was taking suboxone for about a week and only 2mgs a day was making me feel normal well with a lil aches and pains here and there. Then for 4 days I relapsed and did about 4 80mg oxys in 4 days. I'm on my 2 day of not using oxys and the craving arent incredibly terrible and neither are the withdrawls. I'm wondering since I'm taking the suboxone which I only have about 6mgs left of, if I take that for the next 2 days will I be done with oxy withdrawls.
Avatar m tn At first I felt like a initiated the withdrawal symptoms Ive read about because maybe i started Suboxone to close to my last dose of Oxycontin which was 12hrs ago. I have already read about how Suboxone works with competeing with the opiate receptor site. My question is I'm doing this on my own with out medical supervision. I only have 3 total 8mg films thats why cut the first film into 3rds.
3060236 tn?1340594292 I totally agree with using the full opioids to get off the suboxone...suboxone is 70% stronger then full ant. From what I am seeing I have been on subs longer then anyone I know, There are docs who are using the finishing off where u started method to get off subs... think I a going to go for it!
Avatar m tn its really hard, and msot truly cant honestly say that, i know i couldnt for almsot the first whole year, yeah i was clean but i knew if i could get some or was fofered for free there was a good chance i would be railing it up..
Avatar n tn I have been smoking Oxycontin for about 3-4 months and want to quit! Is it easy to get suboxone? I don't want to go to rehab because I don't want my brother to know I smoke.
