Suboxone with hydrocodone

Common Questions and Answers about Suboxone with hydrocodone

suboxone

Avatar f tn I just know I got on Suboxone to stop the other opiates as soon as I tried hydrocodone/notco for sub withdrawal relief I wanted more and more ...which Suboxone never did for me and then ...
Avatar m tn s a very long-acting synthetic narcotic with a half-life of some 36 hours. Suboxone is also a whole lot more difficult to detox from than hydrocodone. Do you get your pills from a doctor for a pain condition or are you getting them on the street and using them recreationally? Just trying to determine if you're talking about physical dependence or true addiction here. If it's really addiction, detox is only the first step to sobriety.
Avatar f tn I was clean from hydrocodone for 4 days and relapsed. I've been relapsing for the past 5 years. I can't stand that I was ever I introduced to hydrocodone! It was never for pain in the past but for the "high" of it. I want to be myself again! I miss me! I have an appointment today with a suboxone doctor and it's suppose to help me have Zero withdrawals and have No More cravings for hydrocodone. I'm praying that this works!
Avatar f tn Short term detox using Suboxone is a relatively new approach to deal with some of the problems using Suboxone long term. It may turn out to be just the thing to help people. Its still an extremely powerful drug and deserves to be treated with extreme caution.
Avatar m tn taken hydrocodone for last 3 years got script for suboxone but told i have to wait for withdrawls before taking it Ive cut back on narcos down to 1/2 every 12 hours when would it be ok to take suboxone with out going into withdrawls
Avatar f tn Yes, it can be done, but personally I think it's a mistake to go on a much stronger drug, like Suboxone or Methadone, to avoid the withdrawal symptoms of a much weaker drug like Hydrocodone, thinking it's an easy way out. IMO if you do it should be only be a low dose for a very brief period, long enough to get over the worst part of Hydrocodone withdrawals, and short a time enough to prevent you becoming addicted to Sub.
Avatar f tn My ex recently let slip that he just started taking suboxone. By slip I mean he was leaving me a long voicemail rant about the attorney general taking money out of bank account to pay child support and it was the last thing he said. Then he just stopped talking and hung up. I know he was supposedly taking hydrocodone for back pain.
786839 tn?1236479216 I speak from experience when I say that Suboxone is perfectly 100% ok for anyone taking hydrocodone. Hydrocodone was my drug of choice. Personally, I don't think Suboxone is a step up from Hydrocodone at all. It actually isn't compared to hydrocodone one bit. Going from Hydrocodone to Methadone is silly in my opinion, but if it has worked for someone then awesome. I've taken just about anything that's considered an opiate and Methadone is a step up from hydrocodone.
Avatar f tn t cause too much withdrawal as it is also an opiate. It is Suboxone (however, suboxone has an additional med added to it that blocks the affect of opiates). Have you heard of that? This is often given to people who are addicted and want to get 'clean' and also for those with a chronic moderate pain condition. That sounds like you, right? This could be a good thing if you are able to make the switch and the just maintain with the suboxone! It's an alternative.
Avatar f tn Just be careful with the dose of hydro you take because your tollerance may be lower - even though 8 mg of suboxone is a pretty good dose. If you have any doubts, I would check with your suboxone doctor before taking the hydro, just take it slow. Best of luck with your dental work. Glad you are working on your recovery too, stick with it. Keep posting, when you are ready to quit the suboxone, there are some great people here who can help support you.
Avatar f tn What you should do is go onto the suboxone website, find a dr in your area that prescribes it, it DOES NOT have to be one u have been to before. You tell them the truth, you are addicted to hydro's and your addiction and needing them is what has caused you going to different doctors all u do is tell him the truth. That is what they are prescribing suboxone for is to help people with addictions.
Avatar f tn I tried and tried to get and stay clean, so finally on Monday I got my *** in the car and drove to a suboxone clinic got my suboxone and since Monday afternoon, I feel great. All those yrs fighting that ugly monster and I decided I am going to win. YOU can to, you have a new beautiful child and gift from God inside you. I am not judging you at all. It's that ugly ugly thing we can't stay away from.
Avatar m tn So you have done this before with the pills (same dose it seems) and you have been on suboxone before. You are familiar with Suboxone would guess so what exactly is your question? We are here to help you buddy but I just don't understand. Give us a little more information.
Avatar n tn This is just my opinion, but I wouldn't mix methadone with hydrocodone. Both drugs supress your respiratory system. If you are still in withdrawls from oxycontin the opiate is still in your system and it would be mixing the 3 drugs. I would be afraid to take it all together. Good luck, this is not an easy road. My prayers are with you.
Avatar m tn Looking into a local clinic that specializes in Suboxone. Iam in great need of info and help, i need off these things any other ways out there?
Avatar n tn ve helped or just muddied the waters, but you need to have a long discussion with your pain doc about both suboxone and how to deal with breakthrough pain when the patch (or the suboxone) doesn't work.
781991 tn?1237964779 In my journal I have posted my road to recovery starting with the first days I was off hydrocodone and started suboxone and I have mentioned this trip and how I have hoped to taper off the Suboxone just in time to be 100% off medication when the vacation starts. Some posted a comment that they weren't experienced with Suboxone, but was worried that I would be sick on my vacation, but that maybe I should post the goal on here to get some feedback.
Avatar m tn basically its a study or story on how people are so uniformed and uneducated about Suboxone. Suboxone If interested Google Huffington Post Dying to be free of Heroin. The story is mostly about heroin but if you think about it Oxy Cottin is simply synthetic herion. Personally if I wouldn't have started on Suboxone through a great addiction specialist I would be dead. If taken right and if you take aftercare seriously Suboxone can be a good drug.
Avatar m tn At this point you may want to consider tapering off of the Suboxone and be done with everything. It becomes a merry-go-round and I would hate to see you stuck on it.
Avatar m tn I used suboxone for a 20+/day hydrocodone habit. The only caution that I have is that suboxone is an opiate too - very strong and long acting. Taking it long term can be challenging to quit that to. Get into a program, work with a therapist, and get into aftercare.
Avatar m tn she set an appointment with a dr. who prescribed me Suboxone. For my insurance to approve the drug, i had to see a drug counselor and join a program. after a couple of months on suboxone i was at an appointment with my consulor and she asked me how i was doing, etc....
Avatar m tn I was taking 30 + a day of hydrocodone 750mg I don't know how I'm still alive I did it that many for the last 8months, I'been of them for 21 days today and I'm so happy now I did it with the help of first THIS FORUM and second with the help of Suboxone I'm not saying is for everyone but I know that it has work for me, In the past I try to quit c/t and it only work for less that 17 hours, I tryed to tapper and that didn't work BUT once again you should try all of those fir
Avatar n tn I suggest you check out The Health Pages and go to page two - to a post of testimonials of those who tell of their own experience with Suboxone. I was also on a similar dose of Oxy and used Sub to come off of it. The only problem was the W/D from Sub was about ten times worse than just tapering and coming off of Oxy. It took two months before I quit having W/D's and I was only on Sub for 21 days at a fairly low dose.
Avatar f tn In fact, taking Suboxone would be like taking 15 or more Vicodin (hydrocodone) tablets per day! You would be very doped up by even a small dose of Suboxone, and your tolerance would climb much higher than it is now-- making it much more difficult to taper off. At the same time, you shouldn't expose you and the baby to the up and down of opioid dependence. From your current use, I would not anticipate severe withdrawal if you choose to stop.
Avatar n tn Most people seem to begin Suboxone treatment as soon as they're in mild withdrawal. I really doubt anyone here is going to tell you to go ahead and take it. We don't like to take on that responsibility or give the wrong advice. I wish you well and truly hope you find a way to get clean.
Avatar m tn Taking 5mg hydrocodone after taking any amount of suboxone isn't going to do anything tho because hydrocodone is not anywhere near strong enough to knock the bupenorphine(that's the active narcotic in the subs just incase u were saying what the hell is that haha) the suboxone would help the pain more than the hydrocodone honestly because it was way way way stronger than hydrocodone.
