747245 tn?1233944925 I am currently taking methodone and have been for 15 months I have been off of painkillers (oxy's)since I started taking methodone bc it does no good to take any when you dont feel it since the methodone blocks bc I tried at first just out of habit. I was on pain pills for 4 yrs started with an ear ache and prescription for lortabs then my husband decided to get back on pain meds for a surgery he had (b4 he met me) that went wrong, he had been off for a few years b4 I met him.
Avatar m tn I'm back again. Tried quitting CT several times, made it 4 days, than 7 days, most recently 3 days. At this point I know it is not a mental addicition, but I can't take the damn withdrawls, they just kill me. At this point I've decided that I either need to go the Suboxone route or I need to try one of these anesthesia assisted rapid withdrawl programs. Does anyone have any insight as to which one is going to allow me to continue my life as quickly as possible.
Avatar f tn s opinion of suboxone for pain control to stay off vicodin, but I have had some experience with it for withdrawal when I ran out of vicodin. I had no withdrawal symptoms at all with it, felt well enough to go about my day. When I ran out of vicodin without it I had all the withdrawal symptoms. So am glad you have it, hope you do OK.
Avatar f tn First of all, going on suboxone for a light Vicodin habit is like using a firehose to put out a cigarette. Secondly , I think you are now detoxing from the sub. Its longer and more difficult than if you had just stopped the Vicodin. Hang in there, our sub people will give you more info about that. Go get a full check up and blood work just to make sure. Hope you feel better soon.
Avatar n tn Does anyone know the suboxone withdrawal treatment plan that include using vicodin or a couple of days?
Avatar m tn can a pharmacist call a dentist that wrote a prescription for Vicodin and tell him that i am taking suboxone,i thought that addiction problems were confidential. She never came and spoke t me, to find out if I had worked something out with the doctor that prescribes the medication. I believe if she was to call anyone she should of called my suboxone doctor!!!
Avatar f tn The wd was miserable, and here I am hating life and my situation addicted to vicodin. When I heard about suboxone, it sounded like a miracle answer. The more I educate myself, though, i am feeling leery. I need help. I HAVE to quit. Reading posts in this forum has been more uplifting and educational than any other. So here it is, my first post. Any suggestions whether or not suboxone is right?

Avatar f tn That would be a very very bad huge mistake. Suboxone contains an opiate blocker and taking it with norco or vicodin or any other opiate will throw you into precipitated withdrawal and you will become miserably sick and there will be no way to reverse it except time. Suboxone is part opiate, part opiate blocker. It should only be used when you are in full withdrawal from norco or vicodin or any other opiate and never in conjunction with. You would be very sorry to take it together.
Avatar f tn in my opinion is certain criteria for one considering suboxone..first of all suboxone stays in your system alot longer than hydros..are you considering suboxone..your friend..
Avatar f tn I see my therapist and my psych doc's on Tuesday and I've been doing a ton of research on Vicodin addiction. The #1 thing that kept coming up was this medicine called suboxone..I've never heard of it besides on here and that people have become addicted to it, and have abused it. Is it something that would benefit me seeing as this is my 2nd relapse? I will try ANYTHING at this point, I am desperate. What should I do?
Avatar n tn If you had stopped vicodin 6 days prior, then the majority, if not all, of the withdrawal symptom for the vicodin would have been over. Suboxone also should not have produced a withdrawal reaction either - unless you had taken an opiate within a couple hour prior to the suboxone dose - or as Tom asked, an allergic reaction. Tom asked what the ER said? I am assuming that you are not taking any more suboxne? I would also consider choosing a different psychiatrist as well. Good Luck.
1974178 tn?1325990502 Hey there- Did someone tell you to take Vicodin while coming off of Suboxone? Did the doctor know why you wanted the vicodin? It is confusing. The Tylenol is not a problem...Have you stopped the Sub or are you tapering? The Vicodin does not work if you take it with Suboxone but you could hurt yourself just the same.
Avatar n tn I need some help, I have been trying to come off vicodin for about a week now. Every time I stop, the first day or two I cant sleep. So I go out to find vicodin so I can sleep. I take about 10 a day of the 7.5. I called the Doc and he was going to put me on suboxen??. I cant afford it. Does any one know how long it will be before I can sleep. Is there any sleeping pills that help. Would xanax help?
Avatar f tn Well, I waited 12 hrs from when I took vicodin and took 4mg of suboxone and all went well, slept good and all. Thank god. Needed that. Been taking 2mg of suboxone all day about every 6 hrs doinn good. Thanks guys.
364605 tn?1200704975 Hey...would love to hear from some of you who have been on suboxone maintenance & your thoughts & feelings about it. I am currently on it for a oxycodone addiction. It is really helping me, but I sometimes feel as though I am replacing one drug for another, although I feel I can function in the world without constantly thinking about pills, swallowing them, worrying when I'm going to run out & how to get my next stash. What are some of your experiences good or bad on suboxone?
696149 tn?1314320959 I completely agree with the above poster. If you swallowed it you got nothing out of it. You are feeling bad because you are withdrawing from the vicodin. The suboxone didn't help the withdrawals at all. Since you swallowed the sub it's like you didn't even take it. Didn't your doctor explain to you how to take it? It must be dissolved under your tongue. Hold the it there and the saliva and don't swallow for at least 15 minutes.
Avatar f tn Come on back Kitty907............... what did you move to suboxone from? How many were you taking?
Avatar f tn I have chronic migraines so I have since been on vicodin again and then suboxone to try to get off the vicodin again. The second time, I was on the suboxone for 2 years straight. The doctor wouldn't lower my dose everytime I asked. I finally tapered myself off for the last time and it was a nightmare. muscle aches, nausea, can't stay off the toilet, sweats, hot and cold.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had experience getting off of vicodine with suboxone? I take a lot of vicodin and just can't seem to taper. I called a doctor about using suboxone and it is kind of expensive but it is worth it and much cheaper than my addiction.
Avatar f tn I've always had a problem with pills. I remember the first time I took a vicodin it made me feel like there wasn't a care in the world. I never really had an addiction to pain pills though until I started dating a guy who was addicted to oxycontin. I became totally hooked, starting with 40 mg a day, then progressed to 160 mg+ daily over a year and a half period. OC made me feel like I was on top of the world.
Avatar m tn Can you find a practice that is certified to give out Suboxone? That will help you get off of the Vicodin; just be careful that you don't get addicted to the Suboxone. Going to NA or AA also helps a lot, along with seeing a psychologist that specializes in addiction. Good luck. We are here for you.
Avatar m tn So it helps vicodin withdrawal - yes, but eventually you gotta kick the suboxone and it is possible that suboxone withdrawal will be worse than vicodin withdrawal. There are positives and negatives to suboxone, so its really important to educate yourself on all sides of this drug and make an informed decision. It is certainly not a miracle cure - its a temporary fix - however a much needed one for many people. Its a personal choice and should be used as a tool.
Avatar n tn I started suboxone today. I had only been off the vicadin for 3 hours before i started it,but went to my appt anyway. I am throwing up like crazy.
696149 tn?1314320959 No, I didn't mention it the first time, but that's not how it went. When I was taking Suboxone the first time and got sick, I wasn't taking any Vicodin at all...it just started making me sick and I was taking it exactly as prescribed. I even went down on it and it still made me sick. Eventually, I couldn't take it all.....it was like I overdosed on it or something, but nothing changed. I got so sick for days....I mean like I thought I was gonna have to go to the ER.....
Avatar m tn Talk to your doctor about something different for the pain instead of suboxone or vicodin. The chills and aching legs will go away with time as they are w/d's. If you can get through those, you are almost there, the worst is the mental of wanting a vicodin. That's where I am right now, but I'm staying away. Take care & I hope this helps!
2127868 tn?1346093098 By this time he had maxed out his credit cards and, because withdrawing from Suboxone was so difficult, he went back to the Vicodin. He eventually went off Vicodin cold turkey, and said that withdrawal was nothing compared to trying to get off Suboxone. I'm sure not every clinic is like the one my friend went to, but please be very careful...I would hate for anyone to go down the same path as my friend. Good luck to both you and your husband...God bless.
696149 tn?1314320959 This is more of a statement than anything else and I guess in the end it's a good thing. I've been taking Vicodin/Norco for 14+ years. I was off of it for nearly 2 years and then went back on it because of kidney stones. I felt better on Vicodin than off, I discovered. The problem is, to keep feeling good, you always have to increase the dosage. That's not good at all for many reasons....the worst is your body will eventually shut down if you keep doing this.
