suboxone side effects patients

SUBOXONE--- HAS anyone that has been on Suboxone ever had the side effect of uncontrollable ITCHING? Scratch till your raw? Or any other side effects that make life more difficult? I was on Suboxone for two years, off for 3 months with opiates, and now on again for a month. The itching started small after a few weeks on Sub But now I scratch everywhere there is hair and just below my knees , my back arms, and high on my butt.

Do these side effects eventually go away if you take Soboxin (sp), and then eventually no SOboxin? If a person works out and takes vitamins will this assist in getting this awful drug out of the system?

All this depression and self confidence issues ARE related to the side effects. Which scares me to death because I haven't had luck going down to less than the 4mg. Thank you for your response. XXXXxxxx.

true what cattalina says...the naloxone in suboxone has some side effects with number one being headaches....try subutex..make a plan...what was ur DOC and how much daily did u take? too much of these drugs/sub or subutes carry lots of side effects..and doctors seem to oer prescribe sub..too much causes drowsiness, fogginess etc..

the naloxone in suboxone is what often causes the headaches....subutex does not have naloxone in it...

but around 2pm i start getting flu-like symptoms and they last till i fall asleep. im not sure if they are side effects from the suboxone(it is listed as common side effect) or if im not taking enough suboxone and having wd.but like i said i feel fine in the morning.

There should be some good information and warning info that came with your prescription of suboxone. The side effects are typical of any other type of an opiate - the big cautioin is that you don't want to be taking large doses of benzo meds like xanax or valium with suboxone, that can be a deadly combinatioin. Check for the informatioin with your meds and talk with your doctor.

i want to know the side effects of saboxone, long n short term. ive been taken 1 to 2 saboxone a day. im not even into pills but when i tried it, i like the feeling. and i want to know the side effects, i heard memory loss was one? i took 2 **** tests on it and i passed. if anyone knows for sure please let me know, thank you.

Many medical professional are not very adept at preparing patients for the side effects and/or intervening before they worsen. I realize it is a 50-50 kind of thing and the patient should learn as much as possible beforehand - though as you pointed out, it is a tremendous body of knowledge and rather overwhelming for a layman (which is what I consider myself).

Were they able to sustaing their normal doses (I take a fairly small dose less then 1/2 per day) but i wanted to know if anyone had problems or bad side effects or if the suboxone created problems for their treatment.Even moreso I was curious if anyone was denied treatment on telaprevir until they stopped taking suboxone. Finally, when thinking of the dosing opiates in general, I picture a line with pain on one end, and the side effects of too high of a dose on the other end-- namely nausea and itching (we docs call it 'pruritis'). You mention that you were not a 'heavy' drug user; if that is the case, and if the itching is from too much opiate stimulation, you would become tolerant to the sensations in a few days.

suboxone and methadone are meant for short term use withdrawal side effects are gone within a month thats all the longer your body needs it zoe - yes treatment is possible at stage 4 - i heard now even with decompensated cirrhosis treatment is possible

Right now the big push by drug companies is to focus on new antidepressants that do the same thing as older ones, but without as many side effects. I think this logic is stupid because what we really need are new antidepressants that actually work to control depression. I will take the side effects if the drug works.

So I would be willing to accept some risk of side effects with Suboxone, given the risk of NOT treating the disease of addiction. Eventually something better will come along, but for now, outside of constipation, buprenorphine is a pretty good maintenance agent for some people.
