I have been taking around 3-5 roxicodone 30mgs a day, which is about 90-150mgs, and i want to know what would be a good tapering method? I cant get suboxone or methadone. Also Roxies are the same as OCs just they are not time released.
How long is it recomended to taper off of 16 mg's of SUB a day? and what is the schedule?

you dont want methadone and you shouldnt need suboxone...'your on a fairly low dose, i am not one that usually gives out taper schedules...but you can try dropping 5 mgs off your dose every week so it will be a comfortable taper plan.., go slow with it if you have the time and you should do fine...
maybe someone else will jump in with some advice....

I need some straight forward honest opinions. I am a drug addict there I said it. I have been taking pain meds on and off for 7 1/2 yrs now ever since my gastric bypass surgery. I have quit cold turkey can't count how many times and quit 1 time on a almost complete weening schedule then just stopped when I got down to 3 pills a day. I am so ready to quite now so I went down to kaiser and was VERY HONEST with them and my primary care DR.
I am following other people here suggest on Taper schedule, good so far. I guess my question is, should I be feeling/experiencing more? Thank You All!!!!
What used to seem fun and easy was a busy schedule. When you are on Suboxone or rather any mind altering substances, life and a busy schedule is not really fun anymore, at least not after a little while. Obviously it is in the beginning or we would not have coped with them in the first place. I never tried Suboxone because I wanted to make my recovery as difficult as possible.
As far as the abusive relationship you do need therapy and it should be a priority over everything else.
Can anyone give me a successful suboxone taper chart or schedule? I've been on 32mg but i've cut myself down to 24mg a day. Tomorrow i am going to jump down to 16mg. I would like to make myself a schedule to successfully get off sub. I am ready to. I don't want to use anymore and i'm ready to feel normal without anything. i've been doing very well so far. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I have personally not ever seen a Suboxone taper schedule that lasted only 10days. The shortest schedule I have seen was for 30days and that was for a motorcycle accident victim that ended up with a BKA(below knee amputation) that had been on Hydrocodone 10mg/every day/3 times a day/for about one year. He was put on a 30day suboxone taper an actually ended up switching to Methadone Maintenence Therapy as the suboxone did not work FOR HIM.
With all of that being said.....
Will taking suboxone really help with herion w/d's? Is ther anyone who had experience with this, if so how much hellped, and what dosages? Did it completely eliminate w/d's for you? I've had experience with sub in the past but i always founf that i still felt pretty bad w/d's. maybe im not taking a high enough dosage?
of suboxone/day. My titration schedule had me detoxing off of suboxone over the period of two months. I faithfully followed the schedule until I got down to about 8 mg. of suboxone, but then the leg aches, back aches and hypertension really set in. I had had them all along since the beginning, but the suboxone made them bearable. I continued going down on my suboxone until I reached 2 mg.
I have been on 8mg of Suboxone for 2 years and opiates for at least 2 years before that. Long story - but a back surgery that went wrong....I am ready to begin a tapering schedule and need to confirm a safe way to do this. The primary reason is I WANT MY SEX DRIVE BACK, and I am ready to live without this anvil over my head.
I have read that dropping 1mg every 14 days is a safe way to land.
Can anyone please confirm or point me in another taper schedule to consider?

urs I'm 72 hours off suboxone and feeling horrible thought after 3 days I would be feeling better, ok now when the Dr gave me suboxone she also gave me clonidine I haven't taken any my question is can I take one just to get some kind of rest?? Will it harm my baby if I take just one?? If I'm feeling this bad what is my baby going through?? I'm scared, confused, nervous! I don't know what to do should I go back on suboxone??

Rapid detox from suboxone. there no question about it.people say everybody is different nothing could more true. but opiates effect everyone exactly the same way,every know someone to stop taking them after long term use and just walk away feeling great no way!!! so when it comes to opiates.and stopping the use of them we are all the same. just go to a detox program with 50 different people who are different in every way.
today is day 6 without roxies, and i have tried quitting before cold turkey but that never worked. I always ended up giving up a few days in. So this time i went out and got some suboxone from a friend of mine, and i never realized how well it works. At first i thought it would just help with the symptoms only slightly but today is day six and honestly i feel incredible. I have been on 3-4 30mg roxies everyday for about 2yrs and today is the first day in a long time that i have been happy.
You should really stick to a consistent schedule. What dose are you on? It's not abnormal to feel some mild w/d like symptoms in the first week or two, while the body adjusts.
i been taking suboxone 8mgs for almost 2 weeks and i just wanted to take it to get off of herion and now i want to stop the suboxone .
You're already on methadone and you really can't begin SUBOXONE until you're down to at least 30mg per day of methadone; last I knew.
When you see the doctor tomorrow, tell him you prefer to taper the methadone...if that's what you truly want. But as I said, you need to taper down to 30 mg anyway and that's well documented.
Hi Ranger, Welcome to the forum. Can you ask his Dr. to adjust his weaning schedule so he doesn't feel such harsh w/d's? How much is he on and how long has he been taking tramadol? I don't have alot of information to offer on this drug, but hang tight, more will be along that have experience and will give support. We've all been where your son is and got thru it. He will too.
