Suboxone injection

Common Questions and Answers about Suboxone injection

suboxone

Avatar f tn Sorry but Pain management often is opiates use. If yes then both are the same when it comes to switching to Suboxone, just as dangerous if not done properly. I would recommend scraping the injection to start, and do micro switch with pills, no detox feel, and safe. Eventually injection when stable...
Avatar f tn On the Addiction board , there is a Dr there thst answers most posts. She is part of a rapid detox clinic in Michigan. So with everyone who takes methadone ( I have too for a couple months) or Suboxone to stay off of opiates. Why isn't Natrolene therapy used more? Or is it the same? A once a mo th injection called Vivitrol is used too. If this is once a month it can't be addicting can it? Must be long lasting though.
1800740 tn?1324237171 Can you tell me what milligram dosage suboxone he will prescribe for a 30 mg per day methadone user. Suboxone is very expensive & if I need more than 8mg per day I can't afford it in addition to the cost of the dr. visits.
Avatar f tn You're thinking of the problems with using Suboxone rather than Subutex for pain management. The active ingredient in both of them is buprenorphine, a partial agonist synthetic opiate. Suboxone also contains naloxone which is there as a deterrent to abuse like crushing and injecting the pill. Without the naloxone present, you have no worries about your doctors needing to increase narcotics in an emergency or post-op situation.
Avatar f tn To my knowledge there aren’t any issues with concurrent use of suboxone and IFN therapy.
179856 tn?1333547362 For someone like me who has been on suboxone for the last six or seven years.......this is an amazing news article. Maybe I won't have to continue paying a shrink hundreds of dollars a month to prescribe the bupe for me and could actually get it from a PCP with my insurance. Boy that would be awesome I hope this helps somebody else out whose been drug free for many years but not 'really' drug free after all.
Avatar m tn omg I hope he is not trying to give you suboxone? We need to know what the name of the drug is to advise you. You could call back and ask, but as far as I know there is only time. you are ten days clean, that is great! you are almost there! I wouldn't mess with anything. Good work on the ten days, you will be feeling much better soon.
Avatar f tn I am about 40 days off of suboxone after being on that for just under 2 years. I used all narcotics i could get my hands on for 2 years. When is this anxiety going to stop. I am still craving too. Its starting to scare me.
Avatar m tn took my last1/2 mg of suboxone Sat.Feb 8th. Feeling crappy but still able to eat, bathe, etc. My question is how long should I expect to feel symptoms of withdrawal? my stomach feels fine but my head feels fuzzy, along with a slight headache.
Avatar n tn Injections? not sure waht u mean...r u on temgesic for pain or on suboxone/subutex? most taper down with the doctors help..lots of support here...not sure about the injection thing tho..
717440 tn?1292743742 alot of people have great success getting over opiates using suboxone. my boyfriend is highly addicted to them and suboxone helps him big time. but, if u dont have insurance.........o wait, u all have insurance so to speak up there, right? socialized medicine??
965428 tn?1322771224 I have been on both roller coasters and have experienced W/D from vicodin and suboxone. The w/d from the suboxone is 100 times worse than the vocodin. A typical w/d from a regular opiate will last 5-7 days with 3-4 days being the worst. Suboxone withdrawal just keeps on going, after 4 days it kept getting worse and not better. Personally, I would not recommend Suboxone to anyone unless they were planning on staying on it for good.
Avatar f tn However, if I recall, it is typically used in a very low dose and also as IV, or injection. If your current dose of suboxone and the ibuprofen are working, then stick with it. If you feel you need more pain relief, check with your doctor, he may be able to advise you there. Hang in there.
Avatar n tn Make sure to talk to a doc about wanting that injection before going onto the suboxone and antidepression combo, just to make sure it won't interfere with the epi medication. My b/f told me he had no pain for 9 months after his first epi shot and the side effects were less after the 1st one too. It might be something to consider if it's affordable to go that route.
Avatar m tn I got on the net to find help and found a suboxone dr. I started taking suboxone in November 2010 and tapered down to 2 mg for one month, then 1 mg for one week, then got off. I have been off now since Thursday, 2/17/2011 at 6 pm PST, and today is Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 2:30 pm PST. I suffered through some pretty bad withdrawals the first 3 days however today I actually got out of bed on the fourth day at 7 am and took a walk for 30 minutes.
Avatar n tn Also, I heard about something called suboxone top help me immediately. I have read alot of good stuff about suboxone, but has anyone used this and does anyone know if it is just another drug to get addicted to. I am down to 2 10/500 of hydrocodone now. I would like advice about the effects I could experience by quitting cold turkey, or would anyone recommend this suboxone. Thank you for any advice, but please advise only if you know something about this information.
Avatar n tn Please you seem very knowledgable, I have one quick question. I have been taking 1/8 of an 8mg tablet of suboxone for about one year. I have dental surgery coming up and was told by the DR I would be on percocet after the fact. I do not see a DR for the suboxone, lets just say I regulated myself on the dose. I have researched every where and cannot find a clear cut answer as to how long it will take to feel the effects of the percocet.... I just do not want to be in pain.
Avatar m tn She has a 250 mg oxycodone habit and has tried to quit numerous times using suboxone. Well after her last relapse her doctor decided to put her on Naltrexone. He told her that she would not be able to take opiates while on the drug. A few days later she relapse with 5 30mg roxicets within a few hour period. She began feeling ill and ended up in the bathroom trying to throw up. When she was able to it was all blood and she began to choke on the blood in her lungs and throat.
1141981 tn?1261076243 The combination product is designed to decrease the potential for abuse by injection. Subutex® and Suboxone® are currently the only Schedule III, IV, or V medications to have received FDA approval for this indication. Note that aside from Subutex® and Suboxone®, other forms of buprenorphine (e.g., Buprenex®) are not approved for treatment of opioid addiction.
Avatar f tn Suboxone and Subutex have the same opiate drug buprenorphine, but suboxone also has naloxone to prevent injection abuse, it is supposed to cause immediate withdrawal if injected. Subutex does not have naloxone. Your doctor probably put you on subutex with a higher dose because you indicated in your post that you "keep going back on the pills".
Avatar n tn s a little swollen and irritated because if the injection site- shooting so close to a joint/knuckle is a bit risky; with all the fine little bones, tendons and cartlidge we have there- that and there is no cushion next to the knuckle, no fat. Everyone is telling you to just stop because everyone here is trying to get clean. I know for me it's hard reading posts like this- that have nothing to do with getting clean and have more to do with properly USING drugs...
Avatar f tn Okay, For starters, I am a past heroin/oxycontin addict. I have been taking suboxone (not prescribed) for the past two and a half months, without problem, it helped my withdrawals. By the way: I take it intraveously (I do not care to hear anyones afflictions with this method) Now since I dont get it prescribed, I have to rely on people I know to buy it from. However, all the idiots in this town have switched to subutex (the white pills). This is a huge problem for me.

Avatar m tn Buprenorphine is the active ingredient in Suboxone, Subutex, and Buprenex. Suboxone has a added ingredient called Naloxone. This was added to prevent abuse, and the Naloxone in Suboxone will allegedly cause immediate withdrawal if the Suboxone is injected or possibly snorted.
Avatar n tn no... how would it work?
4785264 tn?1359142440 You mean it's like suboxone or methadone?
