Common Questions and Answers about Suboxone for withdrawal

suboxone

Avatar f tn Am on day 9 of Suboxone withdrawal. Still miserable. Went to GNC on advice of many people that I should take vitamin B-12. I spoke to the girl there. She kinda knew I was in withdrawal (I guess I've looked better) and said that lots of people come in to the store in withdrawal and are buying up the B-12 and something called SkullCap (sscutellaria lateriflora). An herbal liquid used to promote a healthy nervous system. . . .
Avatar f tn the brain zaps are very infrequent, and I usually feel okay on just 2mgs of Suboxone a day. I want to stop taking the Sub when the withdrawal from Tramadol should be over, but I heard that Tramadol withdrawal lasts longer than opiates. I'm getting excited because I might not even need an SSRI, as I am feeling much better from the Serotonin withdrawal symptoms.
Avatar n tn In chronic pain patients without a history of misuse/abuse/addiction - Suboxone can be used for a few days to manage withdrawal symptoms while stopping opiates- it is typically dosed very low in these situations because a typical chronic pain patient choosing to get off opiates does not need higher doses or be on the medication longer than a few days.
Avatar m tn also since the acute withdrawal symptoms last for a week would i be able to take methadone or suboxone for a week to get over the withdrawals, then stop the methadone/suboxone?? i was reallly curious about this as i heard that it helps with withdrawal.
Avatar f tn I was addicted to Loratab from 1999 until May 7th, 2002, my intake daily was about 23. On May 7th, 2002 I took my last one and went cold turkey and by the grace of God stayed clean for 5 years. About 9 months ago I took a very bad fall and went to my doctor and now he has me on Loracet 10mg. 4 times a day, but I take 5 a day and let me mention that I also have Fibromyalgia. I want off of these things again, but I know I can't go cold turkey again.
Avatar f tn I initially went on suboxone for opioid withdrawal three years ago and stayed on it for pain management for my condition of multiple sclerosis that can be very painful at times. I stopped the suboxone one week prior to having a breast augmentation which contained alot of scar tissue and needed the implants replaced. I am currently on opioids for the pain connected to the surgery and I am still experiencing alot of pain, assuming It is coupled with my ms pain.
Avatar f tn Has suboxone actually worked for someone. And did you get off of suboxone too?
Avatar f tn I would be reluctant to go off any opiate while on interferon therapy; the risk of depression from the interferon is quite high, and the opiate withdrawal could precipitate a very serious depression that requires stopping treatment for the hep C. There are a number of reasons people have trouble stopping Suboxone; the biggest reason is because it is hard to stop ANY opiate, including Suboxone.
Avatar f tn Hey, have been dependant on methadone/ suboxone /subutex /methadone for 13 years. I returned to methadone as was best option during pregnancy.(fortunately baby had no withdrawal symptoms). Haven't used heroin for about 5 years but so scared of withdrawal, thought i would be on one of the above for life. Baby now 19mths & have been withdrawing slowly so can still fulfill parental (single). I am currently on 4mg and have conflicting info regarding what to do next.
Avatar m tn Before that, I was in a Methadone program for 4 years, at a dose of 130 mgs per day. I started the Suboxone in February. In June, I tested positive for Methadone. The doctor sent out the urine to be retested at a lab, and it was still positive. He dismissed this, and did not kick me out of the program. Now, in November, I tested positive again. I have not had any Methadone since February. I have read that Methadone stays in your liver and fat cells.
Avatar f tn Hi there. I was on Suboxone for many years and have been off of it for two years. And i will tell you this: I went they wd from my pills soooo many times I lost count. I always went back to using, and did so rather quickly. I never stayed clean for long. Sunoxone gave me time.
Avatar m tn Tramadol might help with withdrawls but it's not a narcotic soo I dunno man. But I was on about 10 10mg hydrocodone ,1 to 2 40 mg oxys, about 2-5 somas a day, mind it if I made more money at work that week( commission job) it was significantly more that that, with fentanyl suckers/ patches, the 100mcg, oxymorphone, roxys, ect. But I got on suboxone, and that helped with the withdrawls better than anything and it's not methadone.
1575129 tn?1296004646 Suboxone is not generally used for FM. It is a drug used in Opiate withdrawal. What is your PM doctor suggesting you try instead?
Avatar m tn How long were you on boxs? I've been in the clinic for 2 weeks and doing one a day. Will I detox?
Avatar n tn The idea is the patch keeps you from feeling the effects of the suboxone withdrawal. My Doctor said it takes on average three months for suboxone to leave the blood stream. In my case it took longer. I've been off suboxone since may 2008, and off fentanyl since august 2008. I'm still a wreck, fatigue, loose stoole, depression, anxiety, insomnia, constant sneezing, stuffy nose, watery eyes, etc....I've been off of everything for one month, and things got worse before they got better.
Avatar m tn Hi, just wanted to get an opinion. I have chronic pain but my Dr knows I'm an addict, so she cut my Vicodin in half and made me sign a contract. I've been withdrawing everyday, trying to stretch my meds, but alas I'm out. My friend mailed me some 8mg Suboxone, which I should receive today. I've used Subs once before and it worked well for pain...the thing is I've tapered my Vic's down to 2 (7.5) a day, and still have w/d's inside 24 hours.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately my suboxone withdrawal is worse than the oxy withdrawal I would have gone through. RLS, achy, etc. All the normal withdrawal symptoms. I have not had RLS in the past and I will give you a tiny bit of GOOD news - the RLS has definitely stopped. My last sub was 9 days ago. The worst days with the RLS were day 5 and 6, but I am good now. Still in withdrawal, but that symptom has subsided. Hot showers are a lifesaver. Also try putting a heating blanked across your legs.
Avatar n tn I stopped taking suboxone 3days ago and have no withdrawal symptoms and wondering why?
Avatar m tn I was withdrawing pretty bad before I took it but the suboxone did not take the heroin withdrawal symptoms away. He did not go over the COWS scale with me but did give me guidelines on when to take my first dose. I will definitely google the COWS scale and maybe this time it will work.
Avatar m tn One week in rehab should have been enough to clean out the system CT why would you take suboxone from coming off a low dose. If you took suboxone for 1 week with a 72 hour half life he should be in slight WD for 1-2 weeks then it should be out of the system. The real questions (A) how do you know it was only one month at 30-60 mg (B) why would you go on suboxone for coming off such a low dose (C) what is the dose of suboxone, it should only be like 1-2 mg.
Avatar f tn Suboxone is a very powerful opiate for the number of mgs in a dose. There are all sorts of equivalence charts but as a rough rule of thumb think of 1mg of Suboxone being roughly equal to 25 mg of morphine. Then there's the added complication of Suboxone being a long half-life drug, which usually makes the withdrawal longer if not harder. I've never heard someone say they jumped from 2mg and it was a walk in the park. I was on it for 2 years. I tapered down to .
Avatar m tn ve had withdrawals from many opiates, but the worst ones prior to my suboxone withdrawal were morphine and poppy pods. Suboxone withdrawal for me was twice as bad; I never had all the symptoms of opiate withdrawal until I ended suboxone, and I'm three weeks into it and still feel f-ed up. I was given prozac for this post acute withdrawal syndrome and it does actually help some.
