I have had one patient (out of a couple hundred treated with Suboxone) who thought that he had leg edema from the Suboxone. We eventually changed to Subutex, then eventually stopped the Suboxone... and the edema persisted. I don't know if it was related to the Suboxone or not. In your case it started after several months... and I have just as hard a time deciding if there is a connection.

There is a very rare condition that opiates can cause called pulmonary edema... But pulmonary edema is usually first indicated by difficulty breathing, coughing, chest congestion, etc. (basically it effects the lungs prevalently). And usually only in the cases where it develops very gradually or is comorbid with other conditions will you see edema in the legs result. So it's unlikely to be from an opiate (or buprenorphine/Subutex) - but not impossible.

it has no effect orally, other than perhaps some nasty side effects including headache , nausea, and edema. With a proper recovery program, ppl on suboxone can concentrate on what is important in getting their lives sorted out, with out the highs and cravings of other drugs. It should be viewed as a stepping stone to recovery. Depending on usage, the person, under a doctors care , when ready, can slowly lower the dose. This is typically quite painless down to around 2 mg.

Hi everyone ... I was wondering if anyone could tell me if Suboxone helps with Chronic Pain? I've had 3 lumbar fusion's since 2016. I've got osteoarthritis in my lower back, severe nerve damage, spinal stenosis, failed back surgery syndrome, edema in both hips. I'm having a bit of trouble in pain management. Anyway... I was Just wondering if anyone Has taken suboxone for chronic pain? And if so, has it helped you at all? Thanks a bunch!!

Hi I have been on suboxone off and on for 5 years full time for 3 years I am still on teo 8 mg strips a day when I started I was on 4 strips a day so I have tapered some in the past couple years . I became on suboxone because I was put on pain pills for a long time by a dr and I found after a couple years I had a addiction to them and couldn't function without the pain pills so I put my self in suboxone clinic.

I had a heart attack in 2009 and the suboxone helped me gain about 25 lbs and edema in my ankles and other places. Plus I started having dull ache occurrences in my chest that scared the hell out of me. When I stopped taking Suboxone I lost weight and my edema left, plus no more dull aches in my chest. I am trying, but if I had a 2mg film right now, I would take it. I am a ex-marine, I feel I wouldn't do so well in a prisoner of war camp, because I am so willing to submit.

I took the 30 day vyvitrol shot after being on suboxone for four years. Quit due to side effects and thohght.it was time.the vyvitrol shot had many zide effects.minus so I started subutex 1/2 tablet a day. I began to have swollen feet, legs, knees and hands. Is this a common side effects of vyvitrol. I had never experienced edema previously Did I wait long enough to be off the vyvitrol?

Any women have problems with edema AFTER delivery? What about issues with a low heart rate and high or elevated BP?

I have had rt thigh, calf and hip edema since 1/14. It came on out of nowhere. No injury. Neg for DVT, neg MRI for mass, neg mass on abdominal CT scan. Multiple hypodense, Ill defined nodules were identified on spleen and a few on liver. CT scan of chest identified multiple hilar lymphadenopathy. This prompted bx. Dx: Sarcoidosis. Had 2 unsuccessful rounds of prednisone. Now getting Remicade tx. I feel better overall, but the edema Has not changed.

i also had/have edema in feet ankles, and lower legs. she had me do toe, foot, and ankle exercises to move the edema along. edema is a passive disorder that requires muscle contraction to circulate the trapped lymph. the swelling is tx related, because it limits your mobility. walk and exercise.

t really needed, but now the area of edema has a pinkish appearance to it. The edema is in both lower legs and ankles, but not so much my feet. I can't tell whether or not its better in the morning or not, so do you have any ideas for us?

3 months after these tests, I started having bi lateral edema in both lower legs/ankles, but not so much my feet. I went to my GP was ran CBC, CMP, Liver panel, and BNP test. He was no longer concerned. I then went to another cardiologist for 2nd opinion, he did another echo and again the EF was 61%. I then saw a 2nd GP for a fresh opinion about the edema and he wasn't concerned either, after the normal blood tests.

I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism and I am wondering if anyone has this symptom. How do you deal with edema? I have swollen ankles that won't respond to anything. Even Lasix prescription is not helping. Compression socks and elevating legs help only minimally. Any tips or suggestions? What's worked best for you? Please help!

His last doses of Neurontin were yesterday because he has again developed the same edema but now it has extended to calves of both legs. The edema has not subsided, in fact, it is somewhat worse. I have had edema in both legs for over 3 months. my Dr. ran all the test and says nothing is abnormal except my previous thyroid test was in the 300's and the new test is in the 700's. she upped my synthroid from 50 to 75mg could this be the cause of the edema a under medicated thyroid? if it is about how long does it take to regulate my body so the swelling goes away.please help i am so tired of fat feet and knees.
