suboxone

Avatar m tn I am following other people here suggest on Taper schedule, good so far. I guess my question is, should I be feeling/experiencing more? Thank You All!!!!
1109246 tn?1268192801 Congrats! Just curious. What was your suboxone dosing schedule? Do you have to wean off of that too?
Avatar f tn That is a common taper schedule. sIf you read the subutex/suboxone FAQs at the bottom right of this page you will see that technique being outlined. Is this the way your doctor recommends?
Avatar m tn You're already on methadone and you really can't begin SUBOXONE until you're down to at least 30mg per day of methadone; last I knew. When you see the doctor tomorrow, tell him you prefer to taper the methadone...if that's what you truly want. But as I said, you need to taper down to 30 mg anyway and that's well documented.
Avatar n tn today is day 6 without roxies, and i have tried quitting before cold turkey but that never worked. I always ended up giving up a few days in. So this time i went out and got some suboxone from a friend of mine, and i never realized how well it works. At first i thought it would just help with the symptoms only slightly but today is day six and honestly i feel incredible. I have been on 3-4 30mg roxies everyday for about 2yrs and today is the first day in a long time that i have been happy.
Avatar n tn I took a 2mg suboxone in the am and 2mg in pm for two days to try and get off those dam roxi's. My last dose of 2mg was yesterday at 5:30pm. As I keep reading and researching about suboxone I am getting more and more afraid that I am going to have withdrawals from the suboxone(which I heard was worse). I am contiplating not taking the suboxone today and just stopping. Will I gert withdrawals from suboxone from taking it for 2 days? If so how long do you think they will last?
Avatar n tn I have been taking around 3-5 roxicodone 30mgs a day, which is about 90-150mgs, and i want to know what would be a good tapering method? I cant get suboxone or methadone. Also Roxies are the same as OCs just they are not time released.
Avatar m tn I have been searching for WEEKS trying to find an answer to my question and cannot seem to find the exact answer. I know that it is best to be under the care of a Dr before you use Suboxone but I am not and know that is best but now I have to get off of Oxy's AGAIN and need help!! I was on Oxy 80 mg 2x a day for 2 years. I tapered and went through HELL with withdrawals! It was very hard but I did it!! That was about 2 years ago and now I am on them AGAIN! I am so mad that I did this!
Avatar m tn Your doctor should have informed you of your proper dosing schedule though. Did you see a doctor for thr sub?I hope this helps. Someone else will be on shortly I'm sure with more experience for you but in the meantime, stay strong. You CAN quit this.Take care.
Avatar f tn I have worked my way down to about 2mg of Suboxone a day but problem is I have this split into four daily doses. If I try taking all 2mgs in morning I still have to take another dose or so that evening and night, so I am taking much more than just 2mgs. I know when tapering most try to get dosing only once daily so should I up my dose until I can only take one daily dose then work down from there.
Avatar m tn How long is it recomended to taper off of 16 mg's of SUB a day? and what is the schedule? recomended time? dose reduction to taper down per week? month?
356054 tn?1218552475 Hey Guys, My name is MikeWithFamily. I am going on week#12 right now with my Suboxone Treatment. Prior to taking Sub I was taking 30 to 40 Vics a day. Understand first. The only Docs that can prescribe Sub are those that have been received the special training and awarded a special license to prescribe it. Not all doctors can presribe. Hop, I saw you say something about going to your regular doc...is he licensed?
Avatar n tn s story, after numerous surgeries, he got addicted to vicadin, percot, oxicotin. We found the miracle drug suboxone so we thought, been taking it over a yr, it makes him feel great while he's on it, but he knows he has to come off because of the expense and the opiate it has in it,He has followed the doc's weaning process, which was 2 mg for a wk, then 2 mg every other day for a wk, then 2mg 3 days for a wk. Then he stopped, everything was great for 2 wk's, until this past wknd.
Avatar m tn I took on average 13-15 of them a day for 2 years. Then, I discovered suboxone and was on it for a little over a year...never relapsed. I got down to a quarter of a 2mg pill(0.5mg). Why am I still experiencing such harsh withdrawals? I just want to be off the suboxone and done with it for good. I stopped going to my doctor 3 months ago. I haven't ran out of suboxone either. Just wanted to quit...but, I guess it will leave me no choice but to take it again.
Avatar n tn built like a brick house 20 year old male die from doing a combo of H and Suboxone thinking he was invincible, and Suboxone was just a sissy drug ....... that is not b*lls*hit...... just a fact... which is what you ask for........ you can OD by doing both, depending of course based on the mgs of Suboxone and the amount of heroin, in a nano second.
Avatar n tn you dont want methadone and you shouldnt need suboxone...'your on a fairly low dose, i am not one that usually gives out taper schedules...but you can try dropping 5 mgs off your dose every week so it will be a comfortable taper plan.., go slow with it if you have the time and you should do fine... maybe someone else will jump in with some advice.... good luck to you...
Avatar f tn Recommendation for missed PI dose is if within 4 hrs of normal dosing time to go ahead and take it and return to normal dosing schedule if more than 4 hrs skip it and return to normal dosing schedule
Avatar n tn If you take your reguarl suboxone dose it will pass in 2-3 days. If you take more of an agonist or more Suboxone, you will prolong it for complicated reasons. For example, there is evidence that in very high doses buprenorphine acts like an antagonist! So... be patient, dose each morning, and wait for it to pass.
Avatar f tn This is something you need to discuss with your doctor. Suboxone doesn't really require multiple dosing, and actually people very frequently develop mental hang ups about those subsequent daily doses when it's time to taper, they have a hard time eliminating those multiple doses. Subxone can be taken in one dose daily.
Avatar m tn I have written this question a couple of times today and I don't see it show up anywhere? Not sure where it is ending up? Anyway... I will try again. I was addicted to pain meds...lortab & Vicodin. Went on Suboxone about 3 years ago. I have tapered down considerably over the last 2-3 months. I take the film and was on just a sliver a day. Roughly .25-30 mill per day. I want to get off completely.
Avatar m tn I need some straight forward honest opinions. I am a drug addict there I said it. I have been taking pain meds on and off for 7 1/2 yrs now ever since my gastric bypass surgery. I have quit cold turkey can't count how many times and quit 1 time on a almost complete weening schedule then just stopped when I got down to 3 pills a day. I am so ready to quite now so I went down to kaiser and was VERY HONEST with them and my primary care DR.
Avatar m tn First of all, your disease has been in remission the last year. Stopping the Suboxone does not mean that the disease will stay in remission. In fact, I found that after my year long Suboxone course my addiction was at the very same place it was when I first started the Suboxone. You should really get a recovery plan in place before stopping the Suboxone. That means getting to the root cause of the addiction and doing some work.
Avatar f tn Physically, it has no bearing. However, mentally it confirms the addictive behavior. Because of Sub's long half life, there's no reason for twice a day dosing...and, sitting there dosing to keep away withdrawals or to get a "lift" is only telling you addiction that this drug is no different from other opiates. So, that's why doctors with significant addiction experience (not just a general GP) suggest once a day dosing.
