Suboxone dosage schedule

Common Questions and Answers about Suboxone dosage schedule

suboxone

Avatar f tn Yes, Suboxone is for Heroin users for sure. I've been off Heroin for 2 years. Suboxone is a good way to become clean if done correctly. I would suggest going to a Sub doctor and get put on a program. Suboxone is to be used with the intentions to eventually become clean completely. Suboxone is just as bad as Heroin to get off of if abused. I know from experience.
Avatar n tn I have been taking around 3-5 roxicodone 30mgs a day, which is about 90-150mgs, and i want to know what would be a good tapering method? I cant get suboxone or methadone. Also Roxies are the same as OCs just they are not time released.
Avatar m tn I have been on 8mg of Suboxone for 2 years and opiates for at least 2 years before that. Long story - but a back surgery that went wrong....I am ready to begin a tapering schedule and need to confirm a safe way to do this. The primary reason is I WANT MY SEX DRIVE BACK, and I am ready to live without this anvil over my head. I have read that dropping 1mg every 14 days is a safe way to land. Can anyone please confirm or point me in another taper schedule to consider? PS...
Avatar f tn if you can maintain on the dose that is lowest, then that will be the best, as suboxone is addictive and a very strong medication. While suboxone is very useful and really does work, one must work with the lowest dosage possible. Keep trying with what you are prescribed. If it is too low, let your doctor work with you to get to the right dose. In the end you will be much better off. Keep posting, everyone is here to support you.
Avatar m tn ve called every treatment center in my area that treats opiod dependence with suboxone. When I say I need treatment for tramadol dependecy they tell me tramadol is not an opiate and they don't treat for it. I reallu need to find some help. I've been tapering off but I know I'm gonna need some extra help. Does anyone know if there is another route I can go to get suboxone?
1459956 tn?1311285922 Can anyone tell me how long you have to be clean before starting saboxan and the recommended dosage I should take? I do not want this doctor to give me too high of a dosage. If I can tapper down before my appointment and with the help of this site, I amy can do it with out the saboxan. My brother has been on saboxan for 3 years now and can not get off it. I do not want to substitute one pill for another.
Avatar n tn My sister and I were also having headaches and vomiting. She says she is still waking up with mild headaches. Mine thank goodness have stopped. We never really found the cause of these. I would definatley call your doctor and tell him what is going on. Sorry your having a ruff time.
Avatar m tn How long is it recomended to taper off of 16 mg's of SUB a day? and what is the schedule? recomended time? dose reduction to taper down per week? month?
1800740 tn?1324237171 Can you tell me what milligram dosage suboxone he will prescribe for a 30 mg per day methadone user. Suboxone is very expensive & if I need more than 8mg per day I can't afford it in addition to the cost of the dr. visits.
1800740 tn?1324237171 I am well aware about being into full blown withdrawals before starting suboxone. I just want to know what my dosage might be so I can estimate the cost! In other words, if he puts me on more than 8 mg per day I can't afford suboxone!!!!
Avatar n tn you dont want methadone and you shouldnt need suboxone...'your on a fairly low dose, i am not one that usually gives out taper schedules...but you can try dropping 5 mgs off your dose every week so it will be a comfortable taper plan.., go slow with it if you have the time and you should do fine... maybe someone else will jump in with some advice.... good luck to you...
Avatar f tn Hey, you will feel better in a couple days, if your not already. I'm on Suboxone, and have been for 2 years. I was addicted to the same thing & methadone before I got on Suboxone. The Suboxone helped me right away. You don't feel high or anything, but you don't withdrawal either. Hope you have a great journey! Just keep your head up, and don't have anything around you that will tempt you. I will pray for you!
Avatar f tn I have been on Suboxone since Jan 4-8 mg a day my doctors instructions at first was to take 8 mags but that was too much for me so he had me take 4 MSG and that worked for me. I played around with it, taking more when I felt I needed more and less when I wanted to start a taper. 30 films lasted me about 2 months. A couple days ago I went back to the doc and asked for 4mg strips instead if 8 mg figuring this will help me along my taper.
Avatar m tn I need some straight forward honest opinions. I am a drug addict there I said it. I have been taking pain meds on and off for 7 1/2 yrs now ever since my gastric bypass surgery. I have quit cold turkey can't count how many times and quit 1 time on a almost complete weening schedule then just stopped when I got down to 3 pills a day. I am so ready to quite now so I went down to kaiser and was VERY HONEST with them and my primary care DR.
190673 tn?1259203266 A lot of times this can be remedied by changing the dosing schedule, ie, breaking up a once daily dose into twice a day...or changing the time of administration. Generally speaking, these types of meds (like Effexor) improve with INCREASING dosages, not decreasing. Your dose is average....there is still some room to increase. Have you noticed a significant improvement in the past when increasing the dose? If so, you may want to discuss some changes with your doctor.
Avatar n tn You can transition back to sub from morphine and it should be fairly easy. Are you working with a doctor on this or on your own? You should be in mild withdrawal before you take your first sub, otherwise the sub can force a precipitated withdrawal and it will take a day or two to balance out. Most docs want you to go 24 hours without your short acting opiate before starting on the sub.
1476285 tn?1287337784 Two of the patients had been on their antiretroviral regimen for several months and reported doped-up feeling, dizziness, and feeling high following initiation of buprenorphine 8 mg/day. The dosage was reduced to 8 mg every other day. One was maintained on this dosage while the other had dosage increased up to 12 mg/day, whereupon he developed hypersomnolence but managed to maintain that dosage.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am taking Subutex. I used to take Suboxone but got switched over due to my pregnancy. I've been on it this time for a year and a half. I started at 16 mgs. and am down to 4 mgs. and am trying to get down from there. I am a little shocked at your dosage - may I ask why you've been on such a high dosage for so long? Was it a personal choice, or the choice of your doctor, hence the new doctor? I am not judging at all, just curious about your situation.
Avatar f tn I tried to tapper off of percocet that I have been using daily for about 8 months now, the dosage kept going up and got to about 6 - 10 mg pills a day and thats when I new I needed to do something.
Avatar n tn I ended up putting myself in the hospital in June of 2012 to be medically supervised while I went through the 24 period before taking suboxone. I was only on suboxone for about 30 days before I could not tolerate the pain and so back on the merry go round. Granted I am on a way lower dosage but already doing the count the hours and ending up short every month. I am changing doctors next month not due to pain meds but many issues I do not care for as to my health.
Avatar f tn Opioids are generally classified as Schedule II drugs, but because they have less ability to be abused, Suboxone and Subutex are classified as Schedule III drugs. http://www.novusdetox.com/suboxone-information-5-agonists-buprenorphine.
Avatar n tn Does anyone know if suboxone can give you migraines. Dont know if its that or w/d's but ive had one for 2 days now and i've heard sub has some side effects?
Avatar m tn I'm addicted to vicodin, taking anywhere from 4 - 10 10/325 or 10/660 pills a day. I've tried to quit several times and had not luck making it through the w/d symptoms. The longest I've lasted is 7 days. I've decided its time to try Suboxone. Mentally, emotionally I want to quit, I just can't go through the physical while still trying to maintain my work and life schedules. I've got two Sub options.
Avatar n tn s story, after numerous surgeries, he got addicted to vicadin, percot, oxicotin. We found the miracle drug suboxone so we thought, been taking it over a yr, it makes him feel great while he's on it, but he knows he has to come off because of the expense and the opiate it has in it,He has followed the doc's weaning process, which was 2 mg for a wk, then 2 mg every other day for a wk, then 2mg 3 days for a wk. Then he stopped, everything was great for 2 wk's, until this past wknd.
