suboxone

Avatar f tn he is addicted to heroin. all painkillers but heroin too. he isnt on suboxone right now. id prefer suboxone (i mean, id prefer HIM to be on suboxone) but honestly, we cannot afford it. methadone is cheaper......suboxone docs want TONS of money upfront...i mean like $900-$1,500 and that isnt going to happen.
898832 tn?1243968023 i need to find a GOOD suboxone doctor fast. i know about the internet search system for suboxone doctors. what i would like if possible ...is if anyone in this area who is on sub. or, who has been on can recommend a doctor. if called lots. but, they all give me the same answer....we arnt taking any new patients. or, yes, we have room BUT... you need to bow down to the doctor. and, then, jump through all these hoops. so, basicly any help would be nice. by the way.
199177 tn?1490498534 Why did my post observing that frequently Doctors are not very good Doctors get deleted? Half graduated in the bottom of their class....... sometimes from such exotic locales as St Barts Medical and Culinary School?
Avatar f tn Should Doctors be blamed for this epidemy of oxicodone addictions? Should they be resposible for how many or how much to be prescribed? I think so... A Doctor has a pasient with a pain problem and prescribes oxicodone, for how long? and how much a person can take before they are addicted to the drug? Young people can abuse this drug, ok but a doctor that cares, and takes control of how much he prescribes to his pasients and how far he can let this people use this drug?
535089 tn?1400673519 I appreciate your comment and I guess I should have clarified myself in regards to taking suboxone under a Doctors careful eye. Suboxone has helped many ppl and for that, it can be a great drug. The Dangers are in taking this medication without knowledge or under Doctors orders and this is the message I am spreading. The more information ppl can get on a drug and their reactions to a situation, the better.
Avatar f tn What were you taking and how much to make you want to go on suboxone?
Avatar m tn It seems like from the recent posts, that many doctors are willing to put you on suboxone or try something else if you request it. It seem so much better than the day where they really didn't know whtat to odl Just curious about your readcction?
Avatar f tn I know you can go to suboxone.com and get doctors names off there, but I also know that a lot of doctors do not put there name on that website. I live in Massachusetts. Does anyone know of any doctors that prescribe Suboxone in the Boston area and South of Boston area? Any help would be soooooo appreciated. I am only 25 and am so sick and tired of being sick and tired (I know that is so cliche) I have been on this crap since I was in high school and I just want to live a normal life.
Avatar m tn Doctors need a special permit to perscibe it , but its worth asking...Usually your PCP does not have that ability but you never know...Check out the Suboxen website it has a link where you can find doctors who do in your area...Ive been on it for a year, AND IT SAVED MY LIFE!!!
Avatar f tn I am curious if the cash only Suboxone doctors are not drug pushers in disguise? Any MD can become a Suboxone doctor with an 8 hour course...
Avatar f tn Come to nh and there's a bunch of doctors who perscribe suboxone. There's pain management clinics in newington nh. Somerworth nh and Merrimack nh. It's awesome cause they don't look at you like a drug addict they treat you just like everyone else. It's a nice environment and no discrimination. I've been going for 5 years and no issues. I love my doctor and i know I'll have to continue treatment for many years do to pain and migraines. Hope this helps someone.
Avatar f tn I cannot understand why doctors do not warn of the dangers of pain pill addiction???? I haven't been on here for awhile, my father died and we buried him yesterday. At our post funeral get together I was talking to my cousin who fell off a ladder and broke several bones in his leg and endured several surgeries. He told me that he stopped taking the Vic's and went thru horrible withdrawal.
Avatar n tn Doctors have to be specially licensed to prescribe suboxone and not all are. You can find a list of doctors in your area at suboxone.com or if you do a general search online. Depending on what type of suboxone program you get into will determine what the requirements are for you. With some doctors you are required to do nothing, with others NA meetings, counseling and support groups are required. As stated above - suboxone is not a cure.
Avatar f tn Never is when it comes to addiction, is there? The decision to try Suboxone therapy is something you need to talk to your doctors about. It's not a magic pill that will cure your addiction or spare you withdrawal. The active ingredient in Suboxone is buprenorphine, which is a highly potent synthetic opiate. Unlike typical opiate drugs of abuse, bupe is a partial opiate agonist, which simply means that the drug doesn't fully fit to the opiate receptors in your brain.
Avatar f tn It varies from doctor to doctor. Some doctors supply the suboxone and some will give you a script and then have you fill it and come back to the office to take your first dose. Most people start to feel better after a half hour of their first dose. I would call the doctors office and ask what their procedure is.
Avatar n tn One more thing, you can check online for doctors in your area. Just type in doctors who prescribe suboxone near your town. It will help you.
Avatar n tn I switched from 30mgs of methadone over to 8mgs of suboxone, after tapering my methadone dose down from 120mgs to the 30mgs required before switching. Different doctors have different time periods they make patients wait before taking suboxone. My doc had me wait atleast 48hrs, so I waited about 50hrs before my first dose, but there are many other doctors that require 3-5days off methadone before their first dose.
193953 tn?1272075026 They are being perscribed for pain by many addiction doctors Suboxone, Methadone, Subutex.
Avatar f tn We have had members that have taken subutex while pregant there doctors were aware . Yes the naloxone is why they moved them from suboxone to subutext.
Avatar f tn In addition, findings from an online survey revealed that more than 66 percent of respondents who are currently taking Suboxone to treat a dependency to opiates do not feel like they could stop taking it without assistance. Suboxone is a medication prescribed by doctors to treat opiate dependency.
Avatar f tn I don't really know much about suboxone except from what I have read on here. I think only certain doctors are allowed to prescribe it. I have read also that most of the doctors expect a cash payment at the time of service and the fee can also be quite expensive. Some of the doctors make it a program to where you have to do other things as part of the recovery. These are just a few things I have read and am not sure if they are correct.
Avatar n tn subutex and suboxone are the SAME drug, buprenorphine, only difference is suboxone has naloxone in it to prevent abuse....most all doctors stick with suboxone after induction with subutex...its supposed to be easier to start induction with subutex, but i never took it, i just went right to suboxone...i didnt want anything i could eventually abuse if i wanted to...

Avatar n tn Try their website, I think they have a link to a database of doctors who prescribe sub.
Avatar n tn Take suboxone rather than subutex. Search suboxone doctors in your area. You know what tondo from there. It is best take suboxone while your already in withdrawal. Because if you have fentanyl in your system as you take the suboxone, the suboxone will kick out all of the remaining fentanyl in your system causing you to feel uncomfortable. So take the suboxon as your in withdraw. The physician that prescribe it would rather see you walk in the office in withdrawal mode rather than high mode.
1481358 tn?1288295091 Here in the US, pain management doctors are now prescribing Suboxone long-term for pain. If it is prescribed for detox, the doctor must take an 8-hour Federal seminar to be "educated" about the use of Suboxone. If a doctor writes "for pain" on the prescription, they don't have to take the seminar. Pain docs tell their patients that Sub is non-addictive. Wrong!
