Suboxone and trazadone

Common Questions and Answers about Suboxone and trazadone

suboxone

Avatar n tn I think they took 100mg trazadone, 1 suboxone and some beer. Hopefully took the suboxone orally instead of sublingually, since that would just create maybe an upset stomach, but nothing else (got to take it sublingually or abuse it otherwise but not orally). That's a lot of trazadone (for me at least) but the suboxone can have bad results with people who don't have opiate tolerance.
Avatar m tn The first night, sleep was okay, second night I took Excedrin PM and it knocked me out for about four hours and then I tossed and turned the rest of the night, waking up with worse anxiety almost. I got some trazadone for the third night and it was the worst sleep yet. Not sure if that is because its the third night or what, but the trazadone knocked me out for an hour and then I woke up I was not able to fall back asleep.
Avatar m tn SINCE BEGINNING SUBOXONE TREATMENT AFTER WD FROM METHADONE AND ATIVAN-I'VE ONLY SLEPT 3 & 4 HRS FOR PAST 18 DAYS. I WAS WONDERING IF THERE IS A CONTRAINDICATION BETWEEN SUBOXONE, GABAPENTIN (300)MG AND TRAZADONE. DOC THOT I SHOULD SLEEP WITH GABAPENTIN BUT NOT. CAN YOU HELP ME ( WON'T SEE DOC TILL MON.) ALSO---I BOUGHT SOME OTC BELLADONA AND WONDERED IF THIS WOULD INTERFERE.
17746161 tn?1459714227 I’m new to this message board .I’m looking for people that have successfully got off suboxone by tapering. I’m on Medicaid live in Illinois my doc that was prescribing me subs decided he was gonna retire they gave me 1 referral and they don’t take Medicaid I’m disabled Just to make it clear I want off suboxone. I started om 8mg suboxone April 2015 then 4 mg 2mg 1 mg ½ of 1 mg just started .0.
Avatar n tn Tapers are better left between the doctor and patient. It's also a dosing question, which we're not really supposed to discuss here. Your best bet is to find a competent Suboxone doctor and start a taper with him. It's also important because of the other medications you're husband is taking. I will say that people (myself included ) who've had the least withdrawals eventually weened down their daily Sub dose to less than .5mg a day.
Avatar m tn i have done this before but the lack of sleep really does affect me. i have a week off work to try and do this but need some advice. can i take valium for a few days while detoxing to help with sleep without it prolonging the detox.
Avatar m tn I have chronic panic disorder, depression and chronic pain and really need support in tapering off valium and suboxone they are prescribed legally but I have been on valium since 1997 and opiates and suboxone for pain management since 2000. I lately have gotten really bad with my anxiety and have an appt with a psychiatrist and usually take all meds as directed but lately I have been really leaning on valium more because of chronic panic and fear.
1434039 tn?1283519761 and lst night I think I get about 6 or so. I had to stop taking my anti depressants Elavil and Trazadone to take the Sub. That was the only way I could sleep. The doctor also gave me some Lunestra to help me sleep if I needed itl I took one last night, But I feel so tired tonight I am not going to add anything on top of the suboxone. I have always had a hard tome sleeping, I have actually dropped 8 meds with my battle to stay clean. I would recommend suboxone to anyone.
781880 tn?1238110488 Everybody is different, but Trazodone works great for me to sleep, which is just a side effect of the anti-depressant. I would suggest that you see a doctor, if you are not already. My doc told me that 50 mg Trazodone alone generally will not help depression, but it supplements my other anti-depressant, and I sleep great too. I am down to 2 mg / day of Suboxone as well, but I am learning that it is hard for me to quit at this dosage because this stuff is more powerful than I thought.
Avatar n tn 5 in the pm when I went to a dr for pill addiction he took me off that and put me on the suboxone and gave me trazadone to help with sleep.
484508 tn?1290010544 addendum---I was also prescribed Trazadone for sleep. And it just occured to me that I started to feel dizzy in the am after I took a Trazodone 50 mg. Perhaps the Trazadone is the dizziness culprit and not the Celexa.....
Avatar f tn There isnt much difference between methadone and suboxone when it comes to length of w/ds and how low of a dose you have to get to. Does your dr know your on all of these different meds because i would feel like im on a constant roller coaster.....is that the point? Are you ready to get all of this **** out your system?
Avatar m tn It was so bad I gave in and took 2 lortabs and IMMEDIATELY felt much better, but I was hellbent on NEVER getting addicted again. So I went to the doctor and got prescribed Suboxone (12mg/day) and have also tried a few different antidepreessents for my emerging depression. The antidepressents always seemed to make me feel worse, but the first time I took the Suboxone I took a nap, woke up, and felt as though the depression almost went away.
Avatar m tn I started with a quarter of the trazadone .25 and quickly went all the way up to 200. And still it was a coin toss if I was going to sleep or not. So I went down to 100mg of trazadone and .5 alprazolam. Some days I sleep ok and others I don't. My anxiety isn't as bad as it was but I still struggle with it everyday. I think the trazadone has helped a little with this as my dr said it is a mild antidepressant.
Avatar n tn t been helping? Is trazadone safe to take for depression and sleep problems along with my Apnea treatment. I know trazadone can help with sleep, but I fear it might be bad for the atriel fibrillation.
Avatar n tn You may be correct that Trazadone is the culprit here..or it may be something else, and certainly a good thorough workup by your doctor is indicated. When you start changing sleep medications you start sleeping problems, which can cause their own symptoms. The simplest way to deal with this dilemma is to start lowering the dose a little bit every couple days and see what happens before you, he, and his doctor decide about stopping or switching to a new medication.
Avatar f tn Trazadone is an SARI antidepressant.. It is sedating and thus frequently prescribed for sleep for those who have insomnia with anxiety/depression. You can take during the day but it is sedating and you should use with care until you know it's daytime effects. Let me know how you make out if you decide to use it. Has your neurologist ever recommended neurontin or lyrica?
Avatar f tn Hi xan, Nice to see your response. Hey, I'm just getting off to get off. I've been on it so long no one can remember why I'm on it. I think it was just for sleep anyway and I don't sleep anymore. It puts me to sleep, but I wake up anyway after an hour or so and can't sleep, so why stay on it? I went from 150 mg to 100 mg to 50 mg yesterday. Last night I couldnt' sleep, but no worse than without it. Think I'll stay on it a few days more and then stop it.
Avatar m tn There was some talk about sleep aids in a recent post. I am not sure how many of you are familiar with, or are looking for a non habit forming sleep aid. My doctor put me on a drug called Trazadone when I was going through Sub W/D's. It is actually an anti depressant and one of the side effects is it knocks you out. So it is a tremendous sleep aid, especially when you are suffering from chronic RLS and other annoying side effects of withdrawals.
Avatar f tn Just finished researching Trazadone as my hubby's dr just prescribed it two days ago. It is an antidepressant but also used ALOT for sleep. Not just the GETTING to sleep, but the STAYING asleep. My hubby is not an addict; he's tried everything in the book natural and sleep aide wise and still doesn't sleep more than 4 hrs consecutively. He has had sleep apnea test, etc. Bottom line is he can go to sleep.... just doesn't stay there longer than 4 hrs. NOT good.
Avatar n tn Trazadone is not addictive. It is actually an anti depressant. One of the side effects is extreme drowsiness, and more or less puts you to sleep. So doctors use this side effect to prescribe it as a sleep aid in some cases. The fact it is non habit forming, meaning you can stop at any time and have no withdrawals is a big plus.
453029 tn?1205951419 i was prescribed trazadone for depression/ sleep aid althoughit works great for sleeping i dont findmymood elevated at all any suggestions?
Avatar n tn He could try the switch over to Suboxone and then taper down from there. Is he in any kind of support system?
Avatar f tn I was on Suboxone for 21 days to kick a 14 year Oxycontin addiction. Getting off of Sub was rough and I was not prepared for it. Knowledge is wonderful to have so she needs to be prepared. I tapered to only a crumb but still have gone through a month of W/D's --- However, after about 10 days the withdrawals got less intense and less frequent. I have not heard many people who were on Sub and then got off of it sing its praises.
