suboxone and pain killers

Second, I do not have any experience personally with Suboxone, however, I have learned on this forum that Suboxone is addictive and the withdrawals are longer and worse than from pain killers! That being said, there are lots of folks who have successfully quit pain pills on a Suboxone program! However, it is a complete program, and should be used for a very limited time! You should thoroughly discuss this with your doctor!

Have no real tolerance to benzos and never really had a problem with them addiction wise just pain killers and my doc knows this. Can anything be perscribed along with suboxone for anxiety or will my doc more than likely say thats a no no and to deal with it.

im going through a rough time getting off norcos and percocets , and i have been on and off subutex for 2 yrs now but the secound i can get some norcos free i take them and my tolorance is the same even after being on 2 mg of subutex for 4 months , i still have to take 4 norcos to feel anything. anyway my question is do alot of you experience pain and aches on subutex or is it just from not haveing natrual pain killers anymore , i feel like im 60 yrs old on a daily basis , please let me know ?

In order for me to eat or drink like a normal person without pain the doctor put me on Pain Killers and I of course got stuck on it. Then For year I suffered going in and out of the hospital trying to get help from this damn surgery that I did just to be thin. I F""""" myself up. But of course the doctors are never wrong.

And when I first started abusing Vicodin it was besause it made me the mother I always wanted to be. I had unlimited energy, Fun, crafty, and silly. I have been on Suboxone for 3 days now. And realized that I was always a great mom. Ladies we have the power to laugh, cry, and heal. We are strong and beautiful. We just have to believe in ourself.

Now I have a good two weeks away from the subs, should I use them to get off the pain killers and risk not being able to get off the subs, or go for another method?

If I took a total of .5MG of suboxone last Monday and then Tuesday and did pain killers over that weekend, then did .5MG of suboxon Monday and none Tuesday (Making 48 hrs not on suboxone this week)... can I get addicted to the suboxone by just taking a piece today? Because I don't think I am currently, I just want help with the cravings. I really don't want to go buy any. Should I take a piece? Will I feel W/D?

just saying, absolutely avoid pain killers! at all costs! and try to bear the pain, and when the pain is too much to bear you will definitely know it! so if you are unsure if the pain is bad enough or not for pain killers, than most likely it is not bad enough for pain killers! you CAN wait it out! If the pain IS BAD ENOUGH for pain killers, than there will be no question in your mind about it!!!

Hi Blu --- I recommend you go to the Health Pages - the second page --- and find the Post written my quite a few who were actually on Suboxone. Knowledge is power and you (and your son) need to see what is said about using Sub by these folks who were on it. doctor shopped, used several pharmacies, had unnecessary medical procedures just so I could get pain killers prescribed to me, stolen pills from people and used my husband to get prescriptions (and refills) that I could take. It used to be a "game" to see how many pills I could get...before they put the new DEA system in place! I would call other friends that were doing the same thing and we'd "compare notes" on what we did to get prescriptions.

This is so hard feel like crap as well I would do anything for this to go away...Today had my usual 12 pain killers and 8 nytol...rite at this second typing this Im thinking how am I gunna quit these...keep telling myself from tomorrow on...I am gunna have to stop or this will end up in a very bad way I know that...So from tomorrow this stops it has to because I don't want my life to end at 35...This is bound to be having an effect in my tummy is n it?

I'm a 22 year old whose been addicted to pain killers for over 4 years. I have taken OC's among others but my primary is yellow 10mg Watson 853 Hydrocodone. I take anywhere from 15-25 per day averaging around 18. I have tried tapering, but not a strong enough will. I know cold turkey is an option but can't talk myself into doing that. I have a buddy who has a bunch of left over Suboxone, which I took 1/3 of a 8mg today.

I was in a car accident in '04 and had to have bones in my neck replaced. I have titanium plates, screws and rods and was on fentanyl for a long time. I, myself, decided I wanted a lesser pain med and was talked into suboxone by a Dr. Now, in the past 2 yrs I'm still on suboxone.

so if u do pain killers while your taking suboxone the pain killers will be blocked out and you will not feel the pain killer i dont think your daughter should go on suboxone unless she wants to get off everything! sounds like she needs the pain killers!

I was on suboxone for about a year and a half.... then had to have surgery and i stopped the suboxone and want to stay off...i get from alot of threads that thats the consensus ... but i am on pain meds after and taking them correctly however am so afraid to stop...been off the suboxone for about 2 weeks and had some crappy wd but now i am concerned that i am going to go thru wd again??? I worry about my depression before the addiction and the pain... so im scared... I have a job and 2 kids and leave check to check... rehab for 30 days scares me cuz income. .. then I think of well **** wats 30 days to the rest ur life! My brain and addiction is playing Tug of war Wit each other I dont kno wat to do. .. plz help me!!

Hi! I am addicted to pain killers, and have been trying to come off for about a year. It has been difficult, to say the least. I take about 80mg of vicodin a day. About a year ago, I read about Suboxone and gave it a try. I had very little knowledge on the drug, but decided to give it a try. I was very naive about addiction, etc at the time. I was given about 6-8mg of subs and immediately felt better. Couldnt believe how well it worked for me.

I am not trying to find a way to get of the sub, I just happen to be one of those people that worry a lot. The dr did tell me suboxone can help with pain, and that I really don't need to be worried that he would work with my OB. Since the day will be picked out there can be a plan put into place like you guys said. Getting high is not even on my mind, I just want to feel whole again. I want to wake up in the morning with out feeling anxiety or sadness.

However, if you think that it is a magical pill to help you get through the withdrawal, you are wrong. Suboxone is a program and should be administered along with counseling and an outside support group. It is an opportunity to get your life together, or get your life back, while not using your drug of choice. If used any other way you will be in trouble. Have you done research on it?

i have a slip disc in my back and have terrible anixiety, about 2 months ago i was in a car wreck and its messed up my back alot worse and ive tried both suboxine and subutex, the subutex is very hard to get but its the only thing ive found that helps me the most, how do i get it precribed for me

WOW, Teach, I have some Suboxone info, buthave to address the Chocolate first...WOW. I thought I was going crazy. I have been on Suboxone for over 6 weeks now and I swear a few days after starting on it, I started craving chocolate which was extremely odd because I am not a chocolate kind of guy. A nice candy once in a while was good for me, but now, in the mornings I have to have a Double Mocha Capacino along with either a double chocolate donut and/or Hostess Swiss Cake Rolls...

It is not healthy to go on and off of the pain medication and then on and off of Suboxone. That is not at all what the Suboxone program is about. You are screwing around with your brain chemistry and it is no wonder you are depressed. I honestly have to suggest that you get to your family doctor, get honest, get a good check-up and talk to him about your depression. there is no shame in that and they have medications that can help you.

Hi, I am currently taking 24mg of buprenorphine a day as Suboxone. My wisdom teeth are coming in incorrectly, therefore I will most likely have to have them removed. I know that I have to tell the practitioner in advance that I am on suboxone so there will be no problems with anesthesia, etc. My question requires some pretext. After the sugery I will obviously be in a lot of pain.
