Avatar f tn Can taking suboxone while nursing cause your milk to decrease??
Avatar f tn That way, you can be sure that by the time of the delivery both you and the baby are clean and ready to start healthy bonding and nursing. The OB/midwife will also be there to guide you though good prenatal care, healthy nutrition, smoking cessation (if necessary), etc.. Good luck to you, motherhood is a career full of joys and pain, but we all do it for the joy of it... P.S. Avatar f tn At this point it is probably too late to taper from Suboxone safely and comfortably. Acute withdrawals may hurt the pregnancy and three weeks is not enough to completely taper off the 16 mg you are on. Suboxone has been used safely in both pregnancy and nursing and as long as you nurse your baby, s/he should not go through the withdrawals. Baby will wean slowly with you as you gently taper while nursing or when s/he weans down from nursing.
Avatar n tn I am 6 months pregnant and am a recovering heroin addict. I have been on suboxone for about 8 months and it has been working very well for me. My doctor doesnt know that I take this medication. My questions aqre: Should I tell her that I am on this? My belly isnt very big at all and I kindof feel like it is because I am taking suboxone. Now, the baby kicks and moves around ALL the time. I eat right and I have gained 15 pounds in the 6 months that I have been pregnant.
142722 tn?1281533616 I have to have a C-Section on May 11th, two months from now, I just started suboxone and my sub dr said he would like to see me stay on suboxone through the entire pregnancy and after for a few months. I have been reading on line and am scared because I may not get the pain relif I need. I have had two and it is painful :( My tolerance will be very high and they might not give me high levels of pain med to help :( maybe I should go off the suboxone by that time ???
Avatar n tn What I do what to mention is that it is really commendable that you want to be off of the Suboxone prior to pregnancy and nursing. Even though it is possible to go through have a health child on Suboxone, as a mother, you want to be your healthiest for the pregnancy. As your OB/GYN will tell you, it is harder to get pregnant and carry a healthy pregnancy to term as we age. So, of course you need to be in the best shape possible.
1253584 tn?1332877954 For the past 2 years I've been on methadone and I tapered down to 20 mgs and then switched to suboxone last Friday. For the past 6 days I've been on 12 mg of suboxone and I want to taper off slowly but don't know how slow. Does anyone have ne advice?
Avatar f tn This way, by your third trimester or certainly by the time of the delivery both you and the baby are clean and ready to start healthy bonding and nursing. The OB/midwife will also be there to guide you though good pre-natal care, healthy nutrition, smoking cessation (if necessary), etc.. Good luck to you, motherhood is a career full of joys and pain, but we all do it for the joy of it... P.S. Avatar m tn Ive had some rough detoxes in the past with methadone and oxycontin and suboxone was much easier on the physical withdrawals than the others. Through all of my experiences Ive learned that the w/d period is so darn mental, the more positive and busy you are the easier it goes. I was on sub for 18wks, started at 8mgs and began to taper after the first month.
568875 tn?1424397205 We found a friend that started using suboxone for wd. So we started doing that and it helped enormously. I felt i was getting dependent on that. I have a positve outlook on quiting bc of the possibility of pregnancy, but im not sure what remedies I can do bc of it. Today is our 3rd day of being clean. Is there anything I can do? I would rather not go to a dr. Please help!
Avatar f tn If you become pregnant while taking SUBOXONE, alert your doctor immediately as there may be significant risks to you and your baby; your baby may have symptoms of withdrawal at birth. If you are pregnant or become pregnant while taking SUBOXONE, you should report it using the contact information provided below.* Before taking SUBOXONE, talk to your doctor if you are breast-feeding or plan to breast-feed. SUBOXONE can pass into your milk and may harm the baby.
Avatar m tn hi, i am a suboxone user for 3 years and starting to taper down slowly. i am currently on 1mg morning and 1 mg evening. Yesterday i was prescribed tramadol by a different doctor for my pain and migraine. What i need to know is if it is OK to take tramadol while i am on suboxone? i am afraid that if i take tramadol tonight, the next morning when i dose my suboxone i will feel a very discomfort feeling or withdrawal.
Avatar m tn I asked my doc if I could get back on it while taking Suboxone and he said yes and perscribed it to me again. My question is if I should be taking these two meds together or not? I know my doc perscribed them to me but I can't help but question if it's ok. Does anyone have any takes on this? I am taking 8mg Sub 2x daily and 30mg Adderall 2x daily right now.
Avatar f tn I have been on suboxone for 3 years. Yesterday, I had 2 teeth pulled and my mother in law gave me some tramadol. Without even thinking (and I think I was under the impression that it wasn’t an opioid) I took a 50mg. My question is.. when can I safely take my suboxone dose? I should also add that I took the tramadol at 1:30pm and it is now 9:00pm and I have not taken any of my next suboxone dose yet. I quickly realized I may have screwed up.
Avatar f tn I can't follow your original post. Are you taking both Diluadids and Suboxone and/or wanting to? Like TrayCee said, Suboxone's is primarily used for withdrawal. Are you seeing two different doctors?
Avatar n tn I find myself taking more than prescribed of suboxone. Towards the evening hours I feel tired lately and I think taking the suboxone helps. I am up 20 mg. a day. My doctors says to take the 12 mg in the morning only. Prior I was not a big drug user just serious depression and anxiety. I am taking also wellbutrin 2 yellow tablets 75 mg and 60 mg. cymbalta daily. I hate when I self medicate.
Avatar f tn Having a very addictive personality, I know that I may have problems weaning off suboxone on my own. If I take alittle more, it seems I have more energy. I am a nursing student with two children and a very supportive husband. I know I need to get off suboxone but a part of me does not want to rock the boat. I have already put my husband through so much. I guess I just do not want to feel bad. Sorry if I am rambling. I guess I am confused about what the doctor told me.
Avatar f tn I am 18 weeks pregnant and just starting to wean my one year old daughter. Im only nursing in the morning and before bedtime And she's started to drink whole milk during the day. It has surprisingly happened quite naturally... I feel ready to stop and am happy I was able to nurse her for the first Year. Good luck!
Avatar f tn We have used condoms since there is inconclusive proof if there is any effects of the pill and nursing. I had a few cycles close together then a normal period in Sept. Last month I spotted with a wipe but nothing after that. In all my last cycle was 2 months ago at this point. I'm excited but anxious. I loved being pregnant but I don't want to take away from my daughter. She is our first and only. The plan was one child in diapers at a time.
Avatar n tn Not being a doctor, a pharmacist or a chemist, I can't even begin to hazard a guess as to the safety of mixing these two meds. Suboxone is a pretty strong opoiod for pain and Klonopin is used for panic disorder (and seizures) Have you been prescribed the Klonopin? If so, I am going to assume that the prescribing doc is aware of your use of Suboxone. I would hope so at any rate. If not, they need to be informed poste haste!
Avatar f tn Nursing bra is a necessity. I do buy a few nursing tank tops to wear around the house or under a regular shirt. Just easier. But I can do without. I found two pack of nursing tank tops for $25 online at h & m. And the nursing bra I got buy one get one half off at buy buy baby.

Avatar n tn Your last question about how long it would take to ‘feel’ agonists after Suboxone… it would depend, of course, on the dose of agonist, the type of agonist, and the dose of Suboxone. The bottom line is that it always takes much longer than people expect. I have had a couple people who needed to go back to agonists for pain, and they said something similar to each other– that even after weeks off the suboxone, they could never get the same old ‘euphoric’ feeling again.
Avatar f tn I had the experience and the CYS were really nice and understanding talking about the suboxone treatment.
