Common Questions and Answers about Suboxone and caffeine

suboxone

Avatar f tn the only excersice i get is chasing my kids around and cleaning, and my caffeine is one amp(energy drink) in the morning and 2 pepsis during the day.
Avatar f tn Yes, absolutely. Suboxone is an opiate and is extremely addictive. People find it just as difficult to taper and quit. One of the patients in our clinic, who we had to detox from Suboxone, was so addicted, that no matter how far down she titrated this drug she could not get off. At one point she was literally just licking the 1 mg strip, but she could not give it up. I find that most have the same problem with both of these drugs.
Avatar n tn I started on suboxone 9 days ago and have had a severe migraine everyday. I have had 16mg a day since the first day, my doc was any opiate. anyone else experienced this? thanks!
Avatar f tn yes i had a bad headache the first few days i used it. then it went away and now i have one for 4 day since tuesday and its really bad today.
Avatar f tn I am happy for you and very proud of you. I do know that suboxone is frowned by many fellowships. Being on suboxone is not considered "being clean". Then again there is the clause " the desire to stop using" which is what the person is doing on the subs or meth. It is supposed to be abstinence from any kind of altering drugs. That being said if someone is on mmt or subs long term and need support what options are there? About the cannabis.?? Not sure how to respond.
Avatar f tn Recently I switched from taking a half of a strip to just a quarter of one, so I was taking 2mg a day for the last few weeks. When my suboxone ran out I decided to give it a go and quit altogether, I was sick of suboxone controlling my life. At 8pm tonight it will be 4 full days that I have been off suboxone. The withdrawal has been hell, chills and cold sweats. Sleeplessness and restless legs being the absolute worst of the symptoms now that the diarrhea has finally passed.
Avatar n tn If the shape of the container makes a difference you dont technically have an addiction. But the caffeine in particular and even the sugars can produce a dependence type thing.....Juice would certainly be a really good choice to replace it with, though. Even the caffeine wont be a big deal..... but it could well be the trigger for your headaches if you dont get some from another brand of cola - - they all have varying amounts of caffeine going .....
Avatar f tn Then I went to a party got drunk and relapsed on h. I got back on suboxone and have worked my way back up to 8 mg a day. Slowly but surely the subs have stopped working like they used to. And now I have a horrible time sleeping and paralyzing anxiety. I'm afraid to do things I would normally like doing. My hands and feel are always cold, and all I wanna do is sleep, and chew tobacco, hah I chew. I almost relapsed 2 days ago, but instead I upped my dose 2 mg. It was a close call.
632245 tn?1222544440 In the beginning they were awful and had me floored for a week or two.. My body did adjust and the nauseousness/dizziness and severity of the headaches improved.. The only thing that remotely helped with the headaches was 2 advil and 1 tylenol sinus, which I took every morning right after I took the sub. Also, I found that caffeine really made the sub headaches much much worse.. I had to give up anything over a small cup of coffee each morning. Try to avoid caffeine at all costs.
Avatar f tn Im not sure where to ask this , but this forum seemed like the best place, im currently 43 days of suboxone, 5 years of opiate, methadone , and suboxone use im 26 years old,my hair is fallimg out more and more , im scared to touch my hair, i counted around 40 hairs in the shower today, at first i thought it was the clonodine, but itx been more theb a week since my last dose, i use ephedra i do not abuse it, i was told my hair is falling out because of my sensativity to stress, or nervouseness, i
781880 tn?1238110488 Everybody is different, but Trazodone works great for me to sleep, which is just a side effect of the anti-depressant. I would suggest that you see a doctor, if you are not already. My doc told me that 50 mg Trazodone alone generally will not help depression, but it supplements my other anti-depressant, and I sleep great too. I am down to 2 mg / day of Suboxone as well, but I am learning that it is hard for me to quit at this dosage because this stuff is more powerful than I thought.

Avatar m tn You may have a reaction to the Suboxone. Call your prescribing physician and tell him/her what is going on.
1800740 tn?1324237171 My suboxone doctor has me on a fairly slow taper. I am at 2 mgs now and he wants me to jump off completely around Christmas. Since I was on a low dose of methadone (30 mgs. per day) before I went to suboxone, he seems to think it will be quite easy for me. In December, I will have been on suboxone for a year. Meanwhile, I'm reading horror stories about suboxone withdrawal. Do you think I will have an easy time during wds?
Avatar m tn The withdrawal was painful the first time due to having to kick at a restoration christian program and the seconed time I was on Suboxone for another year and i winged off very slowly, tapering 1/3 every 2 weeks which went smooth. Now I've been on Suboxone for about 3 years, I am down to a crumb and thought it would be easy getting off this time around, but it has not been at all. Anyway, I want to defeat this demon drug and I'm having mental warfare big time.
Avatar f tn Hi I have been on suboxone off and on for 5 years full time for 3 years I am still on teo 8 mg strips a day when I started I was on 4 strips a day so I have tapered some in the past couple years . I became on suboxone because I was put on pain pills for a long time by a dr and I found after a couple years I had a addiction to them and couldn't function without the pain pills so I put my self in suboxone clinic.
Avatar m tn The best thing he can do is take good care of himself, eat healthy food, stay hydrated, keep active and busy. Stay away from sugar, soda, and simple carbs. Do not consume caffeine at least 6 hours prior to bedtime. Take a look at my blogs about options for detox and recovery. You may also take a look at my clinic website where I also have my blogs and a lot of other info about drug addiction and recovery. Look especially into the blog and the info on Naltrexone therapy after getting clean.
Avatar f tn I have been on Suboxone since Jan 4-8 mg a day my doctors instructions at first was to take 8 mags but that was too much for me so he had me take 4 MSG and that worked for me. I played around with it, taking more when I felt I needed more and less when I wanted to start a taper. 30 films lasted me about 2 months. A couple days ago I went back to the doc and asked for 4mg strips instead if 8 mg figuring this will help me along my taper.

Avatar f tn If you become pregnant while taking SUBOXONE, alert your doctor immediately as there may be significant risks to you and your baby; your baby may have symptoms of withdrawal at birth. If you are pregnant or become pregnant while taking SUBOXONE, you should report it using the contact information provided below.* Before taking SUBOXONE, talk to your doctor if you are breast-feeding or plan to breast-feed. SUBOXONE can pass into your milk and may harm the baby.

Avatar m tn hi, i am a suboxone user for 3 years and starting to taper down slowly. i am currently on 1mg morning and 1 mg evening. Yesterday i was prescribed tramadol by a different doctor for my pain and migraine. What i need to know is if it is OK to take tramadol while i am on suboxone? i am afraid that if i take tramadol tonight, the next morning when i dose my suboxone i will feel a very discomfort feeling or withdrawal.
Avatar f tn This way, by your third trimester or certainly by the time of the delivery both you and the baby are clean and ready to start healthy bonding and nursing. The OB/midwife will also be there to guide you though good prenatal care, healthy nutrition, smoking cessation, etc.. Good luck to you, motherhood is a career full of joys and pain, but we all do it for the joy of it... P.S. Avatar f tn I was prescribed to Percocet for 5 yrs. and started suboxone once withdrawls started. It was 8 mg strips and I was taking a quarter to half a strip a day. The first week went smooth but on the 7th or 8th day I started to feel a tingle sensation on the left side of my chest. I continued to take it for a week and the tingle would occur out of nowhere. I went to er because I was freakin out about it.
Avatar f tn My boyfriend was addicted to vicodin for about a year after he was going thru a break up and going thru depression. He then turned to suboxone and has been taking that for about 3 years. He's planning to withdrawl In about 7 weeks and be done and turnover a new chapter. He's tampering down 1 mg a week right now he's on 7mg. So next week will be 6mg. And so on.. He really is determined to do it now that I know and he has all the support. My question is what should I expect?
461993 tn?1245693352 5 hour energy does contain niacin which feels like a rapid detox and makes the skin crawling feel worse for a short period of time as well stomach issues and vomiting from caffeine which *****. I know because I just experimented with these during wd from suboxone after 1 month 8mg -0mg from heavy opiate use of 4-5 months. During the first 1-3 days transitioning from opiates to subs I did not attempt this stuff because I adapted well to suboxone.
