368646 tn?1208397487 Five years ago, doctors removed a cavernous hemangioma becuse it was shown to have burst several condition is progressively worsening to where I (F, 39) don't have any balance, have "electric shocks" in my arm and leg (among other things such as neuropathy, double-vision, etc.) I have gone from barely needing a walker topretty much needing a wheelchair. Even after removal, I keep having "stroke-like events".
Avatar f tn They are most commonly of a physical nature following the injury, but tend to become predominantly psychological later. The physical symptoms include headache; cognitive symptoms are difficulty concentrating; and emotional and behavioral include irritability. Signs and symptoms such as noise sensitivity, problems with concentration and memory, irritability, depression, anxiety, fatigue, and poor judgment may be called 'late symptoms' as they appear days or weeks after injury.

Avatar f tn I was on 100mg and I began having tia-stroke like symptoms. Sometimes even something small like new meds can be a side effect. CRAZy Right? Or maybe you should keep a log of what you eat and what you experience. so you can give it to your dr. Another thing? do you have a lot of stress in your life? or suffer from anxiety or depression. Because that could also effect you. I hope you find out soon!
1399250 tn?1436946897 I guess the pressure can just be caused by the drop of blood pressure or something else, but I do know I'm not the only dysautonomia patient with this symptom and some people don't even have the sinus issue. Sadly as time passes the symptoms are indeed worsening, I'm not completely bedridden but if I am... a huge reason is because of this strong pressure. BTW I have tried an anti-depressant for this problem the last visit to my specialist and didn't improve any symptoms but cause more.
Avatar f tn The other neurological disorder that makes symptoms worsen with heat is Mitochondrial disease. Heat plays havoc with the symptoms to the point of having heat stroke. I have to live in the air-conditioning during the summer time, which is why I love the winter so much.

Avatar m tn If at present there is a worsening of her symptoms she should consult her doctor. Regards.
Avatar n tn Rest assured that what you are describing is not a result from a stroke. The normal MRI and the slow progression of symptoms from the time you experienced the event make the stoke etiology almost impossible. Stoke is an immediate event, and the deficit if present is almost immediate. One might experience episodic worsening for a few hours but not for months. You are doing the correct thing seeing a neurologist for your problems. Sounds like the correct initial tests are being performed.
1099620 tn?1257569120 and if you experience any symptoms there's a button on the phone you press and you can choose from a list of symptoms, and you can chose more than one, and send it in and your doctor will see that. and the last test that you should have done is a tilt table test, it measures your blood pressure and heart rate while you're sitting, standing, and lying down. it takes about 45 minutes. and if you're having low blood pressure problems and feeling dizzy and lose sight, try eating something salty.

Avatar n tn Well, I have been scouring these forums for almost two years now looking for answers and, finding none, have finally decided to post my own question in hopes someone out there has a clue! For going on two years, I have had worsening symptoms that seem to fall into two buckets depending on time of day. During the day, I find that my feet, legs and sometimes hands begin to quickly feel like they are "burning" or "icy hot" as some have described it on these boards.

Avatar n tn 2003 MRI/MRA with and without contrast performed everything normal, April 2005 CT scan done normal, Feb 2006 eye doctor appointment and everything normal. However, the minor headaches I am having now are accompanied with some other symptoms that I have never had before. Weakness in right arm/wrist, extreme discomfort in left side of neck along with pain, short term memory lapses, loss of balance, urge to vomit (but nothing yet) and ringing in left ear.
Avatar f tn I know I need meds but what do you do when you don't tolerate them? Should the worsening of symptoms last a long time or what should I expect if I decide to tough it out?
Avatar n tn My child's mild CP (in utero stroke) symptoms have resurfaced after two years symptom free. Started with an episode 4 weeks ago - complaint of buzzing leg, dropped to the floor, rigid lims, blank stare, tearing eyes, no movement, no speaking for 30 minutes. Sluggish for 2 1/2 hours following, as he gradually returned to an energetic 6 year old boy. Since then, intermittent right side numbness, clumsiness, drooling. Woke yesterday morning at 4am with headache and vomitting. Stroke? Seizure? What?
98474 tn?1240108874 Hi Cynde, I've been in limboland for years and it gets to be a really scary place sometimes. It really stinks to feel your symptoms worsening and not have that dx. Knowing there are meds out here that could slow down the progress if we only had a dx, is also quite frustrating. Hang in there, you are not alone, there's lots of us here going through the same thing. If you aren't happy with your dr maybe it's time to find one that will work harder to get you a dx.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have symptoms which i am worried may be a sign of diabetes as someone i know suggested. - really thirsty - keep urinating lots especially at night - itchy skin - numbness in my left thigh - always hungry - allways tired - want to sleep a lot - dry eyes and mouth I have psoriatic arthritis and PCOS and came off methrotexate three months ago. I take ibuprofen every day and some vitimins. I also have Keratoconus.I am seeing my endocrinologist in two weeks. What should i do?
Avatar n tn Hi, Since about a year ago I've had a handful of weird physical symptoms, and everything the doctors have come to conclude has been related somehow to anxiety. I'm currently taking Librax(Chlordiazepoxide and Clidinium) for what they think is Irritable Bowel Syndrome and it has relieved those symtpoms (diarrhea, frequent bowel movements, irregular bowel movements) for the most part. Recently I've felt new symptoms: Dizziness - It's a weird dizziness.
Avatar f tn tightness in chest, difficulty breathing, headache, and worsening tingling and weakness. I was wondering if the neuro symptoms could be anxiety-related. My biggest concern is that I had a similar experience two years ago that lasted approximately three weeks and also included intense migraine headaches that hardly subsided. I saw my GP a number of times during that period. I had a normal neuro exam except for nystagmus (they said may be benign). I had a normal head MRI as well.
Avatar n tn You were not specific on the symptoms you experience, but my guess is that when you exercise you don't drink water, or you sweat to excess. This will dehydrate you and you will lose salt and other minerals. You can experience shaking of the hands, visual disturbances, headaches, stomach aches, stitches in the sides, exhaustion, low grade temps and other unpleasant symptoms. If this is the case, try drinking a fluid that has minerals in it like Cytomax.
Avatar f tn She has a left bundle bock in her heart, which was discovered 5 years ago, and has been constantly monitored, thankfully without any worsening of the condition. It all started about 12 years ago with her having epileptic type fits, brought on after severe migranes which she got 5 days out of a 7 day week, these were so bad they made her physicall vomit, and she was bed ridden for every migrane she got.
Avatar m tn and although he says he will love me whatever cognitive or physical changes I experience--and I believe that he means it--I'm finding myself in some doubt about whether it's right or fair to get married when I may have recurring and/or worsening cognitive problems indefinitely. I also understand that MS and stroke can both cause personality changes, another fear. Will I be/remain the person he thinks he is marrying? Now, I get that life is uncertain.
Avatar n tn I had my brain bleed stroke almost ten years ago, yet I still occasionally have recurrences of symptoms. The stroke was caused by extremely high blood pressure (250/150) I take medicine now to keep the pressure down, of course.
Avatar n tn I have had one abnormal vision evoked potential test. I have had some worsening of symptoms in that I have numbness and tingling in the face and the it has moved from the legs to the thighs and the buttocks over time. I have fatigue. I have had fasciculations, and I am being treated for spasticity with baclofen and am now taking Topamax. I have previously taken various different types of meds such as Neurontin and Effexor without much success. I experience low back pain almost daily.
Avatar f tn Similar things have been going on for three years + now and I am still alive - but VERY concerned that my vessels are not going to constrict and dialate appropriately and am wondering if these symptoms are warnings of a stroke? I am 56 years old, have been a dancer, gymnastics instructor, swimmer, jogger, worker ALL MY LIFE! I weight 132 lbs and am 5"51/2" tall.
Avatar n tn There have been a few time my face went numb but nothing was done there, just checked for stroke symptoms and released. I did have a cervical disc fusion a year ago and that helped with some issues but that did not help the vision problem, memory or nausea with headache. So frustrated that no one wants to help.
