Avatar n tn My friend had a brain stem stroke 3 years ago at the age of 39 and had all the symptoms of your husband. I will tell you it's a tough road ahead! You can go to www.judyackel.com to read about her progress.. keep in mind it's very slow. Good Luck!
Avatar n tn Unlike everybody else here, I am the husband and my wife had a TIA (mini stroke) in June 2009. The reasons behind the stroke to this day have never been answered. The doctors initially tried every test (apart from the TEE - transesophogeal echocardiogram). No answers were found. The background of events behind the stroke are what we truly believe hold the answer to the event itself.

Avatar n tn I am thinking of having mine removed, simply because I'm tired of spending so much energy worrying about these symptoms. It is truly amazing how many women are questioning their sanity because of the Mirena, myself included! Bottom line, ladies- honor your bodies and make the best decision for your health.
Avatar n tn I'm having withdrawal symptoms I didn't expect. Light headedness, the runs, blood pressure going up, and general fatigue. Lots of fatigue. And some irritability. I am hoping that these symptoms begin to decrease soon. Well, they have gotten better than it was in the first 2 days. I am still wondering how long I can expect to have these side effects of withdrawal?
Avatar n tn You were not specific on the symptoms you experience, but my guess is that when you exercise you don't drink water, or you sweat to excess. This will dehydrate you and you will lose salt and other minerals. You can experience shaking of the hands, visual disturbances, headaches, stomach aches, stitches in the sides, exhaustion, low grade temps and other unpleasant symptoms. If this is the case, try drinking a fluid that has minerals in it like Cytomax.

I don't take any medications other than a multivitamin and an Omega 3 supplement. I don't smoke. I drink socially (3 drinks a week approx.) and I drink about 2 cups of coffee or tea a day. I had my first classic migraine in 2006 when my first child was a baby.

Avatar n tn I can be tired after 12 hours sleep! Can I be suffering symptoms from my thallassemia. Does any one else feel the same way that I do? This is a little bit hard for me, but I don't want to complain.
Avatar n tn I have gone to literally over 14 doctors- orthos, neurolgists, neurosurgeons, general practioners, and none of them has acknowledged my symptoms, but will only look at my MRIs and say, "everything's fine". I have stopped going because I am so sick of paying them for not doing anything for me. My problem is related to my lower back and on one MRI a radiologist actually called it what it was- a slight? herniation of L5-S1 and a central disk "protrusion" in L4-L5.
Avatar m tn 8 percent) had self-reported stroke symptoms or a mini-stroke, also known as a transient ischemic attack. When he looked at stroke prevalence and coffee drinking, Liebeskind found that the more coffee the adults drank, the less likely they were to have a stroke or a mini-stroke. Those who drank six or more cups a day, he found, had a stroke prevalence of 2.9 percent, whereas those who drank just one or two cups daily had a stroke prevalence of 5 percent.

Avatar f tn I am 39 years old and have for many years experienced leg pain just before and during my cycle. I just accepted this as being one of many symptoms experienced by women and took Ibuprofen. I was on the combined pill. Years later I was advised to try the minipill, which did not suit me. My husband had a vasectomy to that I could avoid taking the contraceptive pill. I now experience lower back and leg pain - most severely mid month!
Avatar f tn The NIH has also failed its mission to research the disease, hiding it under CFS at the Office of Research into Women’s Health (ORWH) with a paltry budget, rather than placing M.E. at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke(NINDS) alongside similar diseases as M.S. and Post Polio Syndrome, where it should have a budget on a scale commensurate with the fact that more people are affected by M.E. than M.S. and are just as severely disabled.
712042 tn?1254572809 I have my moments where silly minimal exertion brings on chest tightness and slams me up against the wall! It's all about exertion and stressors. To my women friends-pay attention to your symptoms and keep written track of them. To doctors in primary care and speciality care, consider this diagnosis in your patients when otherwise healthy people present with vague cardiac type complaints but always shortness of breath and chest tightness with exertion.
Avatar f tn I started reading up on hiv and the symptoms then I start thinking and hoping no one I've been with has hiv. 1344197 tn?1392822771 Perimenopausal and postmenopausal women do not need the hormones estrone and estriol. However, compounding pharmacies often use Estriol or E3, which is not FDA-approved. Furthermore, pharmacies and doctors may not (or should not by law) use Estriol unless they have an investigational new drug (IND) application with the FDA. Obviously many doctors and pharmacies violate this FDA regulation but are not sanctioned because the FDA does not regulate compound pharmacies, the state does.

Avatar f tn If your EF% is good then your enlarged LA is most likely not an issue, depending on how large it is, did you get a measurement? Most Cardiologists don't get too concerned about the finding of an enlarged LA on an echo or nuclear stress test. The only way to get an accurate measurement is with a LA volume test which is rarely done as there is usually little prognostic significance. If you have lost weight then the axis of your heart may have shifted.
751951 tn?1406636463 If you saw my post from last week you will know that I received my disabled badge for my car last week and I used it for the first time last weekend to visit a friend who is only 44 and has just had a stroke. He is ok and recovering but it made me think maybe I shouldn't be so upset all time. The badge saved me walking so far as my legs hurt all the time these days.
