Common Questions and Answers about Stroke symptoms vomit

stroke

Avatar f tn retching symptoms but no stroke. I had a endoscopy and it showed the retching damage as well as Hiatal hernia. I was put on Protonix. I still get that same cough/vomit feeling even when my stomach is empty for 4-12 hours after eating. After reading all the harm PPI can do including stroke I decided to add anti viral herbs to my diet to reduce post nasal drip infection etc. It seems certain foods trigger acid reflux GERD symptoms as well.
Avatar m tn This can also be due to transient ischemic attack which also present with stroke-like symptoms but no neurological deficits and normal ct scan. If it recurs, you may need to have this evaluated further by your doctor for proper management. Take care and regards.

Avatar f tn Yup all normal. I had really bad morning sickness on month two and three. I didn't vomit but couldn't eat and was exhausted all the time. I spent those two loooong months in bed and survived on toast and cheese as that was the only thing I could stomach. Around week 12 my morning sickness started to ease and now at week 15 it's all gone and I can finally eat again.

Avatar f tn Hello my dad 51 years old had a stroke about 5 days ago. Lucky that his girlfriend found him in the morning face down in his vomit inside his RV. He was then transferred to the hospital! Right now he is hooked up to a ventilator but doctors are saying that he is breathing on his own. He is unresponsive to anything we say, but he does cough every now and then which causes him to have a gag reflex due to all the tubes in his mouth. When they pinch him for a test he also moves.
Avatar m tn My husband suffered heat exhaustion a few days ago. He ran a fever of 101 all night w/ sweating off and on. Thinking he would be in the a/c he went back to work the next day and had to be outside to fix a part on the equipment he was running which set him off to a severe headache, he quit sweating, dry and hot, his muscles were starting to cramp and he said he felt like he could vomit, but never did. He had all the symptoms of a stroke, but didn't lose consciousness.
Avatar n tn Hello. I have a question and I hope that someone could help me... I'm a 19 year old female. I have been feeling nauseated randomly during the past month or so. Often when this happens, I force myself to vomit and once I have, I start to feel fine. The nausea feeling comes back after about an hour or so or when I drink something (even just water) or eat something. The feeling lasts for about 2 days and I'm often dizzy and lethargic.
Avatar n tn nausea, vomiting, sweating and abnormal eye movements. The duration of symptoms can be from minutes to hours, and symptoms can be constant or episodic. It could be caused by acoustic neuroma, labrynthitis, meniere’s disease, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo and multiple sclerosis. I think in your case it is dizziness and not vertigo. Dizziness is a common description for many different feelings. Dizziness may be just mildly annoying or caused by something possibly life threatening.

Avatar f tn My little buddy has a stroke at age 99 and could not feed herself or move or talk. She was incontinent. After two years she could walk and talk (not that well). And no longer incontinent. She had her 109th birthday last month. Keep up your spirits! The most important thing is not to have further stokes. Commonly the first stroke is from a clot and then coumadin causes the second one. There are alternatives to coumadin therapy.

Avatar n tn My daughter has these episodes where she sleeps for about 16 hours and is unable to be roused. She is very lethargic and she only sits up to vomit. Her vomit is very thick, foamy and yellowish. After she vomits she lays down and goes directly to sleep again. She doesn't eat or drink during this time. After about 14-16 hours she awakens and resumes normal activity. These episodes come and go about every 3-6 months. Please help no one can give us answers and we are scared.
Avatar m tn You probably had a vasovagal syncope or a vasovagal attack. The complex group of symptoms is mediated by the vagus nerve. This nerve is irritated by prolonged standing, standing up suddenly, stress, pain, hunger, dehydration, intense emotion etc. A tilt table test, holter monitor, echocardiogram etc are done for confirmed diagnosis. Discuss this with your doctor immediately. It could also be a fainting attack due to hypoglycemia or low BP.
Avatar f tn My last cerebral artery occlusion with infaret, was 1.2 years ago, but just recently i started getting the worst post stroke spacticity symptoms. As usuall, i am the 1 that finds my own cures. Most stroke doctors, now know that worst drug to give a patient, especially if they suffered demylination disease along with their stroke is neuroleptic drugs, which actually cause CPSP!
Avatar f tn I am not trying to scare you but a stroke is rather serious. Do some research and if you think the symptoms match up force her to see a doctor. whether she believes in them or not this could save her from having a more serious stroke, which could do anything from paralyzing one side of the body or even death. I'm sorry to scare or worry. As I said, I may be wrong, this is only a best guess from a college student, who works with children and took a first aid and cpr course.
Avatar f tn Went to the emergency room to check for stroke and the doctor said it could be my nerves, it was not a stroke. When I visited my mother she said that I had put on a little weight, and at this time I was fearing pregnancy because my breast did grow as well and was very tender for almost a month. My cycle had still not started. I scheduled an appointment, got a test and it was negative.
Avatar m tn Certain medical conditions need to be considered like a transient ischemic attack, stroke, alzheimer’s disease and depression. Once stroke and TIA are ruled out, she may be assessed by a psychiatrist depending on the protocols in the hospital. Take care.
