For several months now I have had a constant sweet smell and taste in my nose and mouth. I consulted the doctor and had all the blood tests required for diabetes etc. All the tests came back normal. The doctor said that it could be a sinus infection, and all he could do is prescribe an anti-biotic.
Can anyone shine any light on my problem ?.
I am a mum to 4 young boys and sometimes get a fussy head and sometimes when i lay down or sit upright i smell burning, the more i think about it the more i smell it. I'm scared cause i know that smelling burning when there isn't anything burning can be symtom of brain tumors.
For me it's a heightened sense of smell with my first pregnancy and this second pregnancy! It starts about a week before my missed period!
I smell coffee sometimes in certain rooms..............not sure about the stroke idea, Poppy, my husband and I often smell cigarette smoke in a room that no one has smoked in..........only on occasion.......double we would both have a stroke at the same time, LOL
I've not chalked it up to MS, just to wierd stuff......
Feel like i could vomit at times and i smell fast food in the air when im out in town and thats crazy.Hope a baby is on the way.
My baby had a stroke prior to or at birth that affected her right frontal lobe and right temportal lobe. At 6 months, she appears to have no outward signs of the stroke. From what I've read, some of the damage of the stroke may not be seen until later.
Does anyone else have a child like mine? What did you find over time.
I have been experiencing for about 3 years now a metallic smell in my nose. It comes and goes. I have been to Ear,Nose and Throat doctor and he cannot find anything. I have been to an allergist and he comes up with nothing. My primary physician tells me to use the netti-pot to flush out my sinus'- no good either. There are times when I get thi ssmell and then a day might pass and I get a severe migraine. I also get nausea from this smell .

to show her finger and she did she also squeeze my sisters finger and she nodded to a question
she had a mild to big stroke affecting her left hand is this a good sign for recovery ?
My husband recently passed away from a hemorrhagic stroke. The doctor said hypertension was the cause. There seemed to be no warning signs except on the day it happened. He had a terrible headache and went downhill from there. He was taking all his medication--plavix, 325 mg of asprin, blood pressure medicine, etc. and was doing fine. He did have very bad back pain but finally got relief and was back to himself for a month and a half. This stroke came on so suddenly....
I could smell a horrible musty odor and made it hard for me to breathe like heavy air. Ever since I have constant bad smells. And even smokey odors in my house. No one else smells it and usually it is in my own home. At times it's like chemicals too. My husband thinks I am nuts. What is causing me to be so sensitive to lots of odors????? Even feel like I am tasting chemicals and breathing smoke very heavily. Very upsetting. Dr checked out my sinus..nothing.
And every since Saturday I have been leaking clear water with no smell...I thought my water was breaking so I went to hospital and they said it was normal my water wasn't breaking yet but it should soon. My question is how I know if I'm having contractions with it because also my babygirl balls up so tight I can't breath but are those contractions? Will labor approach me anytime now?

I had a bout of phantosmia, in my case it was an electrical burning type smell, that lasted for a few days.
I've had an intermittent tingling in my ear and on my face for several days. It lasts 20-30 seconds though it sometimes turns to mild pain and also sometimes includes my jaw and cheekbone. My sense of smell has hightened from almost not veibg able to smell anything to i gag from some aweful smell and no throwing up but definately been nauseus and diarreahea like crazy gas bloating constantly craving weird stuff like just got back from grocery shopping but now im craving stuff that isnt even in the house can i possibly be pregnant?
I had a CT scan done. The doctor told me I was showing signs of mild emphysema. Everything I find on the Internet is negative and scary. I wasn't sure what this meant and prognosis.
5 months ago I had a chronic cough doc said it was not on my chest but in my tubes like kitar .and gave me steroids took months to go.anyway I told him I had an unusual smell of cigarette smoke all the time so acrid it make me cough .he Sid it was part of the infection.but that was 5months ago and the smell has got worse but the cough has gone. I need to put something over my nose with a smell to counteract the smoke ... Any suggestions please it's getting me down a bit....
