Avatar n tn c) Depending on whose risk stratification calculator I use, I get wildly differing results as to what my risk is: o ATP III (http://hp2010.nhlbihin.net/atpiii/calculator.asp?usertype=prof): 1% o Framingham total cholesterol: 5% (over 10 years) o Framingham LDL: 7% (over 10 years) o Calc. using Framingham + CAC: 7% (over 10 years) Which do I believe? I'm inclined to believe the last the most: most specificity to me. d) Given these factors, what is my risk stratification? Low?

Importantly more than have the people that are affected have no symptoms for various reasons including the presence of diabetes and limited activity. Early diagnosis can permit effective treatment. Avatar n tn Each agreed that what is called risk stratification be performed. While uncommon, sudden death is a risk with certain types of WPW. The risk stratification test involves a treadmill stress test and/or an EP study to find out how quickly the accessory pathway can conduct. If it can conduct at <250 milliseconds, then ablation of the abnormal conduction site is indicated. Most, if not all university cardiac divisions have sub-sections of EP doctors. You should seek consultation.
469720 tn?1388146349 Stroke Risk Factors Some stroke risk factors are hereditary. Others are a function of natural processes. Still others result from a person's lifestyle. You can't change factors related to heredity or natural processes, but those resulting from lifestyle or environment can be modified with the help of a healthcare professional. Fortunately, most risk factors are under our control What risk factors for stroke can't be changed?
Avatar m tn My question today is your thoughts on a new testing algorithm. I know 4th generation testing has been around for a while and that your stance has been that these tests are conclusive at 28 days. Just recently I went to get tested in Massachusetts a month after my last sexual experience. As I know the duo test they perform would be conclusive at that point.
Avatar m tn The study included 40 healthy men, between the ages of 55 and 70, who had no heart disease risk factors. Ten of the men had never exercised for more than two hours a week. The remaining 30 had exercised for at least seven hours a week for more than five years, either beginning before age 30 or after age 40. Their regular exercise involved either cycling or running.
972306 tn?1247846608 Treatment In all patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy risk stratification is essential to attempt to ascertain which patients are at risk for sudden cardiac death.[2][5] In those patients deemed to be at high risk the benefits and infrequent complications of defibrillator therapy are discussed; devices have been implanted in as many as 15% of patients at HCM centers.
Avatar m tn HIV Screen 4th Generation wRfx - Reactive (Client Requested Flag See additional algorithm elsewhere in this report) HIV 1 Ab - Negative HIV 2 Ab - Negative HIV 1 RNA Qualitative - Negative Interpretation: Negative Final Interpretation: HIV antibodies were not confirmed and HIV 1 RNA was not detected. No laboratory evidence of HIV 1 infection. Follow-up testing for HIV 2 should be performed if clinically indicated. I'm confused because there is no additional algorithm in the report.
Avatar n tn Rare cystically dilated duct spaces are present, a few showing slight nuclear stratification. No atypia is identified. Small calcifictions are present. Let me know if you know what this means!?
Avatar n tn Hello I would suggest a cholesterol fractionation using a product like the berkley heart panel to fractionate your cholesterol for better risk stratification. What are your sleep apnea symptoms that prompted workup. you may have missed beats at other times but it was only because of monitoring for apnea that nocturnal missed beats were seen. You probably need a holter test and stress echo. What is your exercise status and family history?
Avatar f tn ReleaseID=120480 ---------------------------- HCV FIBROSURETM is a noninvasive blood test, which uses a combination of six serum biochemical markers in a patented algorithm to predict fibrosis and necroinflammatory activity in the liver. The extent of fibrosis and necroinflammatory activity in the liver is a key component of assessing the need for therapy in HCV infected patients and of predicting the likelihood of progression to cirrhosis.
739070 tn?1338603402 In clinical practice, for young adults who present with very clear demyelinating syndromes, these criteria will aid initial and follow-up assessments for MS risk stratification, diagnosis, and treatment discussions. — Robert T. Avatar m tn for assessing liver disease progression, but since the procedure is expensive, uncomfortable, and carries a small risk of complications, researchers have explored various non-invasive methods. Several of these methods employ various blood biomarkers.
Avatar m tn Since you had an HIV risk. You will need to test after your 3 month wndow. From now on always use condoms. HIV is not a nubers game.
Avatar n tn Dear John, Q: Why ETT so soon after Angioplasty? A: It is not uncommon to undergo stress testing post MI as a part of "risk stratification" that is determining the risk that someone has of having another heart attack or dying. Q: At my incision site in groin area, I notice when pressing with finger, a hard lump, is this normal? A: Yes, this is a small hematoma (blood clot) from where the pucnture was made and should resolve in several weeks.
5106112 tn?1363683091 While early prophylaxis in surgical patients with low-molecular-weight-heparin has been associated with significant reductions in postoperative venous thrombosis, it is important that ACCP Recommendations are also checked with regards to the risk stratification levels. For patients following total knee replacement, administering pharmacological and mechanical methods are often indicated based on the recommendations.
Avatar f tn There was NO reason to confirm your negative results. Oraquick is reliable and conclusive any time 90 days or later after a risk event. You're wasting time confirming a result that is already conclusively negative. Following a positive result, a person should start by taking a standard antibody or Ab/Ag test at a laboratory.
Avatar n tn You may need a stress test or some form of risk stratification for coronary artery disease. Palpitatons or PVCs tend to come and go and only cause symptoms the instant they happen. If you are having constant pain, this is unlikely from PVCs. Talk to your doctor and ask them if additional tests are needed. There is a lot more information that may be helpful. A discussion with your doctor may help.
Avatar n tn they are mostly lined by intestinal type epithelial cells with globet cells which show mild to moderate atypia and focal stratification of nuclei. there are also endocervical like cells. Focally there is degenerative nuclear atypia seen. there are also focal areas of mucin extravasation with necrosis seen in the stroma. Impression : histopathological features are suggestive of borderline mucinous tumor of left ovary.
