862553 tn?1239060736 Of course i had the ct with my heart at rest before the stress test and then after the stress test... But am wondering what you would think is possibly going on. My maternal grandfather died because his heart actually exploded and my father himself has had bypass surgery... so there is a hitory in our family all my sibling's take meds for high blood pressure and one sister takes heart medication already ... Could you please let me knwo what your thgouhts are on this ...
Avatar n tn I have had two sets of chest xrays done and they show nothing as well. I went in for a stress test and it appeared to be "abnormal". I went in for an angiogram and the doctor assures me that my heart is in excellent shape except for a very small blockage. I continue to have the tightness in my chest and the feeling of being flush. I have a blood pressure of 100 over 60 and a pulse of 72. I have had no other problems in the past. I am at a loss as to where to go next.
Avatar m tn m not sure that is in keeping with a DO training...you may wish to ask). A stress test may be to assess your cardiovascular system under chemically induced stress and whether or not that triggers arrhythmia. Osteopathic medicine is dedicated to treating and healing the patient as a whole, rather than focusing on one system or body part.
Avatar f tn I have had a bubble test for the hole in heart which showed up something and the stress echo was a follow on. Here in England you do not get immediate responses, so I have no idea what this all meant. Three times this happened whilst trying to recover but the heart rate rapidly increased upon sitting on couch and the other symptoms. Another Dr was called in and they went for a discussion in the corner so I could not hear anything. Ity took 30 mins for my heart rate to stablise.
Avatar m tn An EF above normal can be your cardiovascular system is overcompensating for some deficiency. Usually the left ventricle is slightly enlarged which increases contractility. Normal EF is 50 to 70%. Inducible ischemia indicates the test shows some blockage with stress. Defect of wall motion at the location sited and that could be due to that location's heart cells are not receiving sufficient blood supply.
1425157 tn?1311651679 Generally, a stress test will be stopped at patient's request, or if there is an abnormality of the patient's physiology shown on a monitor. I find it odd there was no concern for your wish to stop the test.
Avatar f tn I had a thallium stress test a week ago. Now I'm setting off radioactive alarms at the facility where I work which is a heavily secure building. How long will the thallium remain in my body?
Avatar f tn At my 36 week ultrasound on Friday, the doctor noted a slight increase in amniotic fluid. They scheduled me for a non stress test this Tuesday and another ultrasound the next two Fridays. Should I be concerned?
Avatar m tn Each test is progressivly more accurate. An EKG is about 50% accurate, a normal stress test is about 65% accurate and a nuclear stress test is about 85% accurate overall but if you back out the false positives, it will find significant heart disease 97% of the time. Having said that, are you working with your doctor to find a cause other than heart disease?
Avatar m tn The stress test was stopped while monitoring your system and that almost always indicates there is evidence of ischemia (lack of adequate blood flow) and may be the result of vessel occlusion, and sometime it is evidence of an old heart attack The test is not very reliable for the conditions named, however, it is considered unsafe to continue without the possibility of injury. If you felt a little pressure in the chest that would be additional evidence for some blockage.
Avatar m tn Reading comments on th forum about window periods both doctors mentioned that the only things that can increase the window period is HIV anti medication, PEP, people with cancer treatment and people with a suppressed immume system. I understand that high levels of stress can suppress the immune system ( the type that I have been through as you can understand going through this every minute of the day for months).
Avatar n tn I can produce a numbert of different opinions what is the appropriate heart rate and so on with exercising. The best method for someone with a heart issue is to have a stress test. A stress test is oftened done for the purpose of learning the degree of tolerance/risk one can safely do. The rule of thumb stated is not recommended for someone who has heart issues. You will be safe to engage in exercising according to METs.
Avatar m tn Stress doescompromise our immune system making us more vulnerable to disease. I don't believe your extreme stress would have corrected your problem. Stress can actually make your hair fall out.
Avatar f tn It may have been that with low cortisol, your immune system was compromised, hence why you kept getting sick. Is your doctor also giving you florinef (if you need it) and advised you on salt (if you need it)? Ironically, low cortisol AND high cortisol = no immune system. Bleah.
Avatar f tn I just wanted to know if having had severe stress would have supressed my immune system and not let my body make antibodies yet..could that happen? or would it take something more serious to supress the immune system to this amount? Stress has caused so many symptoms in me for over a month now :( would appreciate any comments on it.
Avatar f tn HI first off congrads on 100 days clean your doing great...as for those test there always not the most reliable I use to have to test once a month wile on methadone and twice in 6 1/2yrs my test came back dirty once for cocaine and once for heroin ...I never used anything wile on methadone...
3122654 tn?1375761858 well I hate to say it but if the blood test came back negative then you are not pregnant. Since it is able to pick up the tiniest amount of hcg in your system. I think that you should go talk to your doctor about your irregular periods. I was in a similar situation and my periods all of a sudden became wonky so my doctor decided to put me on the pill to get it back on track again and 7 months later I ended up pregnant.
Avatar n tn thankyou for responding, yes had the test reached my target heart rate , but didnt feel like i had exerted myself enough to give my heart a real test, thankfully nothing showed, but wish i had some answers to the chest pain that goes down my left arm, and cardioligist says its nothing, well its not nothing its very disturbing actually put me on lipitor as bad cholestrol is 7 oh well if i cark it least i know nothing was wrong..
Avatar n tn Had a nuclear treadmill stress test done while taking the test the whole time the nurse held me up from behind 2 hands on back because i stated i had back problems and as soon as test started she began this procere is this comman practice?
Avatar f tn Anyone know?
212161 tn?1599427282 If so, they can give you something for your anxiety. I had the treadmill stress test and I was able to take a xanax. If it's the other one that's a medicine induced stress test where you lay on a table, then I'm not sure. Is your Dr. wanting you to get this test done? Has the chest pain went away since you started using your inhaler? You know anxiety can give alot of us shortness of breath and chest pains.
Avatar f tn I am scheduled for a nuclear stress test on july 30, and an echo. I have had an echo but was wondering what the stress test was?? Anyone with info please help??????
