Avatar n tn Had a nuclear treadmill stress test done while taking the test the whole time the nurse held me up from behind 2 hands on back because i stated i had back problems and as soon as test started she began this procere is this comman practice?
Avatar f tn Has anyone had a normal nuclear stress test but abnormal treadmill stress test?
Avatar n tn An Echo Stress Test or a Nuclear Stress Test, if the doctor is suspecting coronary artery disease. However, a regular stress may be sufficient in stable patients or those with a low suspicion of coronary artery disease who are being assessed for exercise tolerance (for example, prior to undergoing a structured exercise or rehab program). If you are/were experiencing chest pains an EKG Stress test is not reliable and probably should have had a Nuclear Stress Test.
Avatar n tn I requested the test because of family history. I did the standard ecg treadmill test without the radiation scan a few years before, and it was okay. Maybe they stopped because the test was for 8 mimutes. I felt I was close to my limit given my breathing was heavier. The other test has identified an issue, and I am seeing the cardiologist soon. I prefer to see these reports in a language I can understand.
Avatar n tn My nuclear stress test results were as follows ver batim. I do not know what it means, are the results acceptable, good very good etc. What does this say about the blood flow to the heart muscle ? "injection of Myoview nuclear tracer & resting images obtained excercised on a treadmill for 5 min 34 sec. to 10.
Avatar m tn Well, the nuclear stress test IS with a treadmill. They hook up the IV and put you on the treadmill and inject the isotopes when your heart rate gets to a certain point. So again it's why don't they use an orbital machine to help people with artificial joints or other? Treadmill seems like the primitive way of doing it. I appreciate the comment about the chemical test. I guess it's less risk on them if you do a treadmill versus the small risk of the chemical test. ??
Avatar n tn My stress test includes something like nuclear medicine. This is the only info I was told and that it would last from 3-5 hours. What kind of stress test is this? Thanks.
Avatar f tn Iv taken a few Nuclear stress tests - in the past I can remember you cant eat anything or drink but water - I was also taken off my meds for 24 hrs before the test . It might be good to call the appointment center or doctors office and tell them - if im not too late at this ! pretty sure it will mess up your test. though some scan tests you can eat peanut butter ? guess it makes the dye show up better in the vains ? I never liked these tests ! as dyes in vains - so on..
Avatar n tn t agree on why I did so well on the stress test. Q. Can some one do this well on a stress test, ie 13.5 minutes and still have major heart problems? What's next?
Avatar f tn I am getting a nuclear stress test done on Monday. I wish that they could have done more testing at the time however the cardiologist seemed frustrated and angry, maybe not with me. I am really unsure why, actually. I'm very concerned and it will be good to get to that bottom of it. I have increased my fluid intake. Thanks for your response.
212161 tn?1599427282 I assume you had an Echo Stress Test and not a Nuclear one. I am sure the "wiggle lines" you are referring to had nothing to do with you walking barefoot (I had them too up to the point were the ECG became unreadable and I have as yet found nobody that could/would explain this to me) and they stopped the test because you had reached your prescribed heart rate of 140 BPM - so nothing wrong with that.
212161 tn?1599427282 am so stressed about a nuclear/stress test friday i have thrown myself into anxiety over it . not sure why i have to come off my timilol pills for my pac thursday been on them for 15 years or more that scares me.
Avatar m tn I just completed a tread mill stress test and a nuclear stress test. Briefly, the results are: 1) attained 100% target heart rate, no chest pains, no arrhythmia 2) LVEF is 56% 3) Moderate size infereior ischemia 4.) ECG is positive for ischemia at good workload (reached heart rate of 143). I've formed a preliminary impression from my research on the Internet, but I would appreciate professional feedback. I am scheduled for a heart catheterization. Thank you.
Avatar n tn I had a thalium treadmill stress test. They ended the test only 2 minutes into the test. They said my blood pressure went up and my heart rhythm spead up. I wanted to know how high my bp went up to and how fast my heart rate went up. It's the second test they cut short. I have 2 enlarged chambers (which two I don't know), a triscuspid leak, 2 little leaks in my mitral valve and the prolapse. What all does that mean? I'm 61 and have high bp and diabetes on insulin.
Avatar f tn I am thinking before I go in for stress test I would like to see results of angiogram rather than risk a stress test. I have heard the nuclear stress tests do cause heart attacks. Any feed back would be appreciated. I know I will have a panic attack :( during stress test. Ugh.
Avatar f tn can I refuse to do a nuclear stress test? I have a treadmill at home and can barely complete 3-5 minutes on it without be tired and out of breath. I have an echo on the same day and think whatever info needed could come from that. Or should I just do what I can do but I don't want to be forced to complete the 15min order by the dr??
Avatar n tn I had a Nuclear Stress test yesterday 10/05/09, and was wondering if it could have caused any problems. First of all, i was extremely nervous and having high anxiety before, during and after the test. I made it through the test just fine and when I called the Dr. back about my results he said everything looked normal. There were no blockages as far as he could see. I haven't seen my GP yet, so I don't know the in depth diagnosis, if there is one.
213398 tn?1202670474 been complaining of chest discomfort for months now. had a stress test a year ago and told it was good. just did a nuclear stress test today. my question. i reached my target heart rate of 156 within minutes by fast walking. a year ago my target was reached while jogging on the treadmill. shoild i be concerned ? does this mean i have some heart of vascular problem if i reached the target by fast walking rather then running? i am not physically active in general .
Avatar n tn If your EKG was abnormal before the test, it would have been more helpful to have a nuclear stress test. If your EKG changed during the stress test without pain, the fact that you had pain before may encourage you to be proactive and ask for a nuclear stress test. Nuclear GXT pushes the accuracy into the 90th percentile.
Avatar f tn They want me to do another nuclear stress test and after all I have read about the dangers of the nuclear stress test ie. heart attacks I am absolutely frozen with fear to do another one. I am not by nature a fearful person but the fear I felt when I had my heart attack never left me. Then the fear I felt when I was on the treadmill that day when I ran into problems only made my fear worse. Now I am terrified. My gut is telling me no stress test.
Avatar f tn I recently had a nuclear stress during which I got very sick. I had a sick headache, nausea and dizziness which just got worse during the day. My blood pressure 2 hrs after the stress test was something over 96...the test showed no problems with my heart, but my pressure jumped to about 200 over 100 during the test. I did not feel better until they told me I was dehydrated, even though I had been drinking water and juice all day, and I drank many electrolyte drinks. What was this?
Avatar f tn My rx says adenosine nuclear stress test. Adenosine is used in lieu of exercise.
Avatar n tn I had a nuclear stress test. Before the stress part of the test my blood pressure was 213. The Dr said to go ahead with the test. During the test, I got cold and white, was unable to function well, semi unconsciousness, tremors particularly on the right arm, speech slurred, headache in the temple and forehead, fatigue. After many attempts to clear me from these side effects, they gave me a the antidote to the medication that they used. Did I have a heart attack?
Avatar n tn I have terrible heart palps even on the Bystolic, and now, today, I spiked a high BP reading 160 over 100 only 2 minutes into the treadmill, so he ended the test. I was sent home, to wait three weeks for a nuclear stress test. My question is this, why am I home with arm and chest pains? If I am having arm, neck chest and sometimes even jaw discomfort, plus palps, spiking BP, enlarged Lft. ventricle, leaky valve, and dizzy spells, why wasn't I admitted?
Avatar n tn As follow up my doctor did a nuclear stress test, results showing normal, good blood flow and no blockages. Is the result correct? Where did the two blockages shown during the catherization go? I was just confused by the results, which were given to me via answering machine by a nurse. Should I call my doctor to question the results of the stress test?
