Avatar f tn Has anyone taken a stress test ? My doctor got me so worried. I told him today at my appt that my baby doesn't move as much as he use to everyone else told me it's bcuz he's losing space. So I wasn't too concerned and now my doc wants to make sure everything is okay so tomorrow I'm going in for a stress test . Has anyone done this? I'm pretty worried now :( I just want everything to be okay.
Avatar m tn Resently had a nuclear stress test with iV, an now have a heart murmer that never had before the test, could the nuclear have caused the problem. I am 80 an had a mitral valve clip installed 7 years ago an has been fine up till now.
Avatar n tn My nuclear stress test results were as follows ver batim. I do not know what it means, are the results acceptable, good very good etc. What does this say about the blood flow to the heart muscle ? "injection of Myoview nuclear tracer & resting images obtained excercised on a treadmill for 5 min 34 sec. to 10.
Avatar m tn She has stage 2 hypertension and when she gets near a physician or any hospital setting her blood pressure shoots off the roof. She is scheduled for an Echo Stress Test however I am relucted to send her until we can get her blood pressure under control. She had an EKG had it indicated a slight variance and we went to the cardiologist and he checked her out and he stated if it weren't for the fact her family history indicated heart disease he wouldn't schedule a test.
Avatar f tn This means that a portion of your heart showed a diminished area of blood flow during the stress part of your test. Was your stress test a Thallium of Myoview stress test? These are much more accurate in detecting heart disease than a normal stress test. If the area has a diminished blood flow with no cell damage it means you most likely have not suffered a heart attack and the area can be opened with a stent, a very common procedure these days.
Avatar f tn The cardiologist put me on a 24 hour portable EKG machine to monitor the palpitations and prescribed a Echocardiogram and Nuclear Stress Test to be done the same week. I got both of them done last week. He said the echo looked fine, but the EKG under stress was abnormal. The pictures taken after the treadmill walk apparently also showed that some part (about 10%) of my heart was not receiving enough blood.
Avatar n tn for pre-testing for ablation scan showed alot of structual damage to the heart and my mitral valve has adhered to the back of my haert so they scrapped the ablation procedure because they said it wouldn`t improve my condition. My EF is 13-15 percent and my vo2 stress test came back with 14. Do you feel that I should be put on a transplant list if I qualify ?
Avatar m tn Almost all of the material I have read, do the stress test/treadmill then rest, then scan. When I had my test I was given cardiolite then rested then was scanned. After a short while I was given the treadmill test and was injected with more cardiolite. Then rested for a relatively short period then scanned again. Why the difference in procedure and does it make any difference?
Avatar f tn Anyone know?
Avatar f tn When using EKG and blood pressure monitoring alone the test is variously called a cardiac stress test, exercise stress test, exercise treadmill test, exercise tolerance test, stress test or exercise ECG test. Heart rate, breathing, blood pressure, EKG, and how tired you feel are monitored during the test.
Avatar f tn My mom went to see a Heart Specialist and he recommended the Adenosine Stress Test. She is not having any chest pains, but this he said would make sure there are no blockages. I would like more information about this procedure and is it dangerous? Another doctor had recommended a stress test that involved putting something in her veins and it would make her heart speed up. This Heart Specialist said no, and that this Adenosine Stress Test is not the same thing.
Avatar f tn The EKG and echo showed an arrhythmia and premature contractions. Since I was still having symptoms they did a nuclear stress test. The scans showed a "significant" blockage, but I was able to run on the treadmill for 13 minutes, which the doctor says would be impossible with that kind of blockage. He says he would be very shocked if there was that kind of blockage. He has scheduled me for a heart cath next week and I am trying to figure out what to do.
Avatar n tn I can tell you that an insurance policy will not cover the test without some objective evidence for the procedure. A better test would be a CT scan 64 slice if there is a family history. The scan will image the entire anatomy of the vessel including between the layers of the vesssel (cannot be seen with a cath examining only the lumen). Between the layers of a vessel soft plaque can be a high risk to rupture causing a heart attack.
Avatar f tn On my stress test results it states: 1mm horizontal ST depression noted at peak exercise which is positive for Ischemia. Is that very bad or possibly not so bad?
Avatar m tn I had a stress test last week and today they told me these are the results: EF 69%, Test was abnormal - moderate sized, moderate intensity, reversible perfusion defect involving inferolateral wall. Moderate sized, moderate intensity fixed perfusion defect involving inferoseptal wall. They plan to do a cath, but there is a two week waiting list. How dangerous is this and should I wait the two weeks or go elsewhere?
Avatar n tn 48 yr old male 3x bypass 6 weeks ago. nuclear stress test 1 week ago showed restricted blood flow. Angiogram done. One of the grafts has backed up blood which is restricting flow. Doc said may get better with exercise or stent the original blocked artery which is a 5 yr old stent on right side that is 90% blocked. Unsure what to do grafts on left side are doing great. What do u think Bill S.
Avatar m tn The stress test was stopped while monitoring your system and that almost always indicates there is evidence of ischemia (lack of adequate blood flow) and may be the result of vessel occlusion, and sometime it is evidence of an old heart attack The test is not very reliable for the conditions named, however, it is considered unsafe to continue without the possibility of injury. If you felt a little pressure in the chest that would be additional evidence for some blockage.
Avatar m tn Went for a heart stress test. After I'm hooked up to the machine a woman comes into the room to gives me the test. She doesn't introduce herself other than telling me her name. I don't know what her credentials are. She gives me the test then tells me about a minor negative reading and recommends I have Nuclear stress test. She does not consult with the cardiologist. I find this odd but don't want to question her.
Avatar f tn Given the family background and an abnormal stress test, a heart cath would serve to give you and the doctor a good view of your cardiac arteries and also serve as a reference point if further work needs to be done. I suggest you put away your fears by doing some research, you will find the procedure is very safe, and proceed with confidence. Believe me, plaque buildup is serious stuff, and the procedure is very safe.
Avatar f tn and in Sept I had an exercise stress test. When I went to have the stress test preformed, the doctor did not place the cuff on correctly. It get slipping and they kept having a problem getting it to work. During the test I felt fine. But the test kept taking the incorrect blood pressure measurements and over halfway through it , they stopped the test.. That was in Sept.
Avatar n tn Likewise, I've also had this test too many times to count...and I don't glow yet! It's a very safe test. Hope your test turns out well.
Avatar m tn I recently had a nuclear stress test with imaging and while recovering and resting on the the table my HR was coming down from 180 during Bruce level 5 to 110 and that is when my symptoms appeared. I started having PVC's here and there then bigeminy, trigeminy, couplets and as many as four to five PVC's in a row. Of course I could feel them and this lasted for 10 minutes. No intervention done at the time. No change in BP either.
Avatar n tn Should a nuclear stress test be performed by a cardiologist? My father, who is 82, is scheduled to have basal thumb arthritis surgery on the 15th of Feb. His doctor of internal medicine wants to do a nuclear stress test to make sure his heart is strong enough to be subjected to general anesthesia. He has leaky valves. We are concerned that this may be a procedure that should be done by a specialist.
Avatar f tn The cardiologist put me on a 24 hour portable EKG machine to monitor the palpitations and prescribed a Echocardiogram and Nuclear Stress Test to be done the same week. Avatar f tn Had an ECG, X-ray and stress ECG and cardi doc has advised that I have a 24 hr tape and cardiac catheterisation coronary arteriography in 6 weeks I was hoping she was going to tell me it was anxiety and panic attacks She told me the risk fracture of 1 in a 1000 of dying with the last test huhhh She's also faxing my doc so I get aspirin and beta blockers Tom I'm going out of my mind with worry Has anyone had experiences like this
