Avatar n tn My nuclear stress test results were as follows ver batim. I do not know what it means, are the results acceptable, good very good etc. What does this say about the blood flow to the heart muscle ? "injection of Myoview nuclear tracer & resting images obtained excercised on a treadmill for 5 min 34 sec. to 10.
Avatar m tn I have no symptoms of heart problems, but I have a family history of heart disease. Is a nuclear stress test advisable or is there another test that would be more appropriate given the fact that I'm asymptomatic. I understand that the radiation exposure in a nuclear stress test is 250 times that of a chest xray. I'm concerned about the risk of exposure to that level of radiation given the fact that I have no signs of heart problems at this point.
Avatar n tn I experienced relief from my chronic active epstein barr virus symptoms after a cardiac stress test. I was injected with 10.6 mCi Myoview and Lexiscan 0.4 mg. My symptoms disappeared for five days and now are back. I have suffered with CAEBV for three years now. DESPERATE FOR A CURE. Any help would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn I took a nuclear stress test, but the Myoview dose is higher than recommended, with 38.5mCi for stress and 11 mCi for rest. How much radiation will these translate into and is it safe? Thanks.
Avatar n tn 20 my resting blood pressure was 126/69 and my pressure at peak was 199/89 this was a myoview type stress test after my first one showed some irregularities if i have done this math correctly my pulse pressure was 57 mmhg at rest and 110mmhg at peak i hope this was the info you were wondering about
Avatar m tn “The post Stress Myoview images show a small to moderate territory of decreased perfusion. This involves the basal and mid inferolateral region and is moderate in severity. The remaining segments are perfused normally. The rest Myoview images show partial improvement in perfusion to this region however non-transmural fixed abnormality remains. Gated wall motion study shows mild basal inferolateral hypokinesis. The ejection fraction is 60%.
Avatar n tn I had a gated stress test and the report states: myoview stress test: stress and resting spec views of heart were obtained in vertical long axis, horizontal long axis and in short axis projection. There is uniform distribution of isotope throughout the myocardium following stress. Resting scan reveals similar findings. No reversible changes are noted. Ejection fraction measures 69%. All of that sounds ok then primary diagnostic code is minor abnormality! What is abnormal?
Avatar n tn If and when you have any discomfort or the monitor indicates unacceptable parameters the test will be discontinued. I never got to any running phase with my stress test. The test was discontinued after 7 minutes...normally the test may go as long as 15 minutes or so when there isn't any problem..
Avatar n tn I recently experienced relief of CAEBV symptoms after being administered drugs for a cardiac stress test. I was given Lexiscan 0.4 mg and 10.6 mCi of Tc99m Myoview. I was symptom free for five wonderful days and then symptoms returned. Anyone else experience this? I have had CAEBV for three years now.
Avatar f tn This means that a portion of your heart showed a diminished area of blood flow during the stress part of your test. Was your stress test a Thallium of Myoview stress test? These are much more accurate in detecting heart disease than a normal stress test. If the area has a diminished blood flow with no cell damage it means you most likely have not suffered a heart attack and the area can be opened with a stent, a very common procedure these days.
Avatar f tn He took Tylenol and arm pain went away. However his troponin level was 17, and then .22. The hospital performed an EKG and a running stress test; both appeared normal. Then a myoview scan was done and he was released. He picked up his records later. The records stated "there is normal perfusion of the left ventricule during resting and stress studies with the *exception of matching decreased uptake proximal portion of the septal wall consistent with short muscular septum.
Avatar m tn Yes which is why cardiologists in the UK generally use it to back up previous tests. Its main function here is to see if there is any dead heart muscle.
Avatar n tn I also had a stress test this week. and like you, I had a Thallium test as there is a national shortage of myoview. Any strong headache should be reported to your doctor, and at the same time, several aspirin tablets should be ingested. That being said, I'm betting you were told not to have any beta blockers, in my case no slow-release nitro pills, and certainly no caffeine. Withdrawing from these products all could result in a headache.
Avatar n tn I've had two nuclear stress tests in the last four years. The first one was done with technetium 99 which i've read gives you 500 msv of radiation and has a half life of 6 hours, but the second one was done with 3.0mci of thallium 201 and 22mci of myoview after stress.
Avatar n tn I have had an ECG stress test and a Myoview scan, both of which have shown an abnormal result. I now have to decide whether to have an angiogram but am worried about the risks involved. My cardiologist doesn't seem to think that any problems I have are too severe and that in fact there's a chance that both tests could be giving false positive results. I wondered whether cardiac MRI or cardiac computed tomography are a viable alternative to an angiogram ? Any advice would be appreciated.
Avatar m tn Sounds all good to me. The diaphram attenuation artifact just means there was an area of the heart that was not well seen due to excessive soft tissue in your diaphram, usually meaning you're a little on the heavy side. Everything else looks normal, nothing I see to worry about.
1709162 tn?1314084832 It takes a couple weeks to adjust to it. Nothing like starting from square one. If your worried , get a cardio stress test and echo cardiogram to ease your mind. Be well.
Avatar m tn Yesterday I was chemically stressed before I was injected with the radioactive solution before scanning. Scanning was done after an hour later. Today the subsequent procedure is called the Rest Test/scan and the final result is only expected in 2 weeks. I have not heard this type of procedure before and I am also not sure how reliable this type of scan can be. What can I expect from this test result.
Avatar f tn Palpitations, Low blood pressure with increased pulse, dizziness and not being able to breath was becoming worse. I finally went to the doctor. Had myoview stress test = Heart great shape, no problem, no blockage. Then they thought, Pulmonary Embolism. Tested, NO PE. I do however have per report, "Residual Thymic Tissue and 2 small lung nodules". I thought maybe my phrenic nerve was being affected somehow. Had neck x-ray, nothing significant. Just normal aging.
Avatar n tn I dont want a cath but i want to feel like myself what is going on wouldnt a doppler echo 24 hour holter and nuclear myoview stress test tell the story ....i know my post are getting redundant but im falling back into certain phobia ..i just want some elses opinon on this !!Thanks!
Avatar f tn It was " suggested " that I have a stress test. It's not mandatory so I'm wondering if I should have one done at all. Has anyone had a stress test? If so what did the results reveal?
Avatar f tn I have an apt today to do a stress test since am over due. I want to go in there informed, does anyone know what it is or whats going to happen?
