Avatar f tn At the weekend a gentlemen who I support threatened me, grabbed me by both wrists and attempted to punch me in the stomach, later that evening I ebded up in A and E with chest pains and shortness of breath and my blood pressure was extremly high. Does anyone know the next step to take with my employer regarding my situation?? I want to go off sick but cant really afford to. Someone help please??
3360193 tn?1365871889 No you should ask to be taken off. I am 29 weeks and I just went to the doctor the other day because the stress at work was giving me severe headaches. I'm considered high risk anyways, so my doctor had no problem taking me off.
Avatar f tn I know that the stress from working in a call center can be overwhelming to say the least. I would talk to your doctor and also find out your employer their maternity leave practices. I know when I worked in a Call Center it was 12 weeks and then you either went unpaid or took your own vacation time. Also, talk to your supervisor at work. Maybe they have a project you could work on that would limit your time speaking with customers.
Avatar n tn You are very early in pregnancy and women have babies every single day . . . able to work, take care of other kids, work out, function just fine. I'm not minimizing your feelings--- I understand. But its best to try not to give into them. Talk to your doctor about anxiety. In general, staying busy is best when anxious (feeling dread and worrying)--- so work is actually better for you mentally than staying home.
Avatar n tn I can produce a numbert of different opinions what is the appropriate heart rate and so on with exercising. The best method for someone with a heart issue is to have a stress test. A stress test is oftened done for the purpose of learning the degree of tolerance/risk one can safely do. The rule of thumb stated is not recommended for someone who has heart issues. You will be safe to engage in exercising according to METs.
Avatar f tn Anyone know?
Avatar f tn Nor MRI was even discussed - in fact the heart catheter is the normal (in my experience) test done if the stress test is not conclusive. This has been the case fo me in past years.
Avatar f tn Had a doctor appointment today and then my doctor sent me to the hospital for a non stress test and a ultra sound to check everything and he's giving me the option to be induced. What should I do? What are some of yalls opinions?
Avatar f tn My ekg was abnormal ( was not told in what way, they did not seem too worried about it at the hospital), and my echocardiogram was also normal, including an ejection fraction of 65-75%. However, this week when I went in for my execise stress test I had to stop early because I was so fatigued ( I only made it about 5 minutes - was not surprised) and my bp dropped (a great deal down to 80/ can't remember diastolic from around 140/90, I believe).
Avatar f tn Have they not learned their lesson with another pregnant person? Im not going putting myself or baby through that stress. Work is hard enough. Should I go to them and say Im not doing it before they put plans in place or what? Grrrr angry momma right here!!
Avatar f tn How do others handle stress at work? I work in an office and since ive been pregnant I've been unable to deal with stress. When I'm stressed out I lose all concentration. I mean I'm struggling to concentrate as it is and if someone pees me off I become idle as I can't string two thoughts together. Very frustrating when you have lots to get on with!
Avatar n tn Hi Guys, I work in a very stressful sales office and I'm already thinking of taking maternity leave early - I won't be returning to this job after baby. What's your opinions/experience on this ? I'm 12 weeks at the mo.

Avatar m tn An exercise stress test is often times involved in the work-up and evaluation of a patient with IHSS or hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Other tests usually involved in the evaluation include an echocardiogram and/or a cardiac catheterization (only if indicated). The decision on which tests are used for evaluation are based primarily on the clinical presentation of the condition.
Avatar n tn It is my understanding that a cardiologist must be in the department when a stress test is being administered. I'm sure that in smaller testing facilities they have specialists that are trained to respond in the event there is a complication. I have had one each of the past three years and there has always been a cardiologist present.
Avatar m tn I just had the Stress Echo Test and my doctor states I passed the test, however, he saw something with the EKG and recommended a Thallium Stress Test. I run 6 days a week and lift light weights daily. Sometimes, I run twice a day, once in the morning and a 15 minute hill burner on the treamill in the evening. I have always run since the age of 18 years. Nver shortness of breath, I am now 57 years old and 166 llbs.
Avatar n tn Can you tell me what it indicates if a person could not get their heart rate up to the desirable number during an echo stress test during the treadmill portion. It is a male age 36 with insulin dependent diabetes since age 6. He has a tendency to have slow heart rate and could not exceed the mid 150's during the treadmill no matter how they kept making him work harder. He is 5'7" and weighs about 155 and is very active.
