No. NST's are normal at this point. They just want to make sure they baby isn't having any issues.
With my first I went 5 days passed due and had NSTs weekly from 38 weeks on.
With #2 same thing only they didn't like what they saw the day before the due date and induced labor due to erratic fetal heart beat. She was and is totally fine and healthy though.
Im 36 weeks & 1 day today . I have to go for the stress test Friday at 8:30 am , what should I expect?
There is a non stress test AND a stress test.... There are different reasons for both. During a non stress test they hook you up to a monitor and just keep an eye on baby's movements and heart rate... During a stress test they hook you up to a monitor but they induce contractions to see how baby reacts.
My non stress test was basically getting hooked up to the same monitors the hospital has. There's a Monitor to watch frequency, duration, and intensity of contractions, and one to watch baby's heart. My baby wasn't stressed but I'm sure they'd probably induce immediately if baby is showing signs of distress, especially since your due date has passed.
Thanks ladies. When the doctor was telling us about the test she left out the movement part only saying the heartbeat, which sent him into a tailspin of planning to take off every appt. I appreciate the insight.
No it won't cause you 2 have early labor, but don't over due it either. Try 2 keep calm. Hoe far along are you?
Uhhhg almost went Into labor today because of my nerves and stress I think .....my mom who usually doesn't ride motorcycles was in an accident on one today while with her boyfriend he was life flighted and broke multiple bones while my mom got away with just some bruises and road rash.....thank god!!!!!! But anyways when I got the call we didn't know what condition she was in and I started crying and instantly started back cramps and contractions for like 2 hours but they went away .....

Can preterm labor be caused by an extremely stressful event? We may be losing my grandmother and this Friday I will be 37 weeks. I wanted her to meet my son terribly bad and I am becoming extremely distraught. Could I cause myself to go into labor?

Had anyone had a bad non stress test. I got news today that my baby girl is not moving like she should. Her heart rate us low and the Dr said I need to keep and eye on her movements. Said if they don't pick up I have to call them and see what they want to do. I'm scared for my baby girl now I want her to be happy and healthy.
I know stress isnt good for my little one, but lately all im doing is crying. I had to put my dog down yesterday that ive had for my entire life, today i started crying over my boyfriend calling some stupid actress cute and now i cant stop comparing myself to her, im struggling to graduate high school because im on bedrest for preterm labor. I dont know what to fricken do to relax myself anymore and stop beating myself up...
I was so highly strung and stressed with my first I was worried about that too. I didn't go into labour infill 39 weeks though and baby was such a chilled relaxed little dude.
