Avatar m tn http://www.euro.who.int/__data/assets/pdf_file/0009/127656/e94500.pdf It helped me by understanding a little more about HIV reality and how "real" it is on my society, and of course how my situation looks under this statistics. For example I just found out that there were 382 new cases of HIV in my country in 2009. From this 382 new cases, 189 were heterosexuals, 143 were homosexuals, 40 drug users and 10 got it from their parents.
Avatar m tn they are one of the best labs in europe and i see they have very advanced tests not available elsewhere like oxidative stress tests or test on microbiome have a look to all the tests they have http://www.synlab.
Avatar f tn your hbsag test is a fraud it says titer but the titer is of the reagent used, not hbsag, infact the number has no units to quantificate, it is just an index of the regent used this test is very common in the philippines, never saw this crap in europe and is of course useless on a chronic carrier
Avatar n tn A echocardiogram (doppler) is the test I have every few years and I have moderate to severe mitral regurgitation. Echo (doppler). Also, there is some reliabilty based on shortness of breath symptoms, and I was told if I get shortness of breath a valve replacement or repair would be considered. The doppler provides a visual view of the size and shape of your heart valves and chambers, how well your heart is pumping blood and whether a valve is narrowed or has backflow...
Avatar n tn 2) I would like to do Combo test now and not wait for 7 wks. Is there a rapid Combo test? I believe this is available in Rotterdam at a private place. However, they use a finger prick with immediate result and I know from English websites that Duo tests offered in London take a tube of blood and results take 20 mins-4 hrs. Are we talking about the same test? What is accuracy? 3) Will all the chlamyd medicine affect accuracy of HIV test or hide HIV symptoms?
11849443 tn?1441302841 I don't know how it is in Norway, but in the states, I've noticed that an echo stress test is a step in the direction of an electrophysiology study. Anxious4ever is losing sight of the nature of the test. The "test" itself is the ultrasound of the "stressed" heart. The part before, that is the treadmill portion is to get the heart beating hard and fast. The imaging part is what is the meaningful portion of the test, and that you can't train for.
Avatar n tn I was also in Europe once and had to call in as I was having a rip roaring AFib event. I packed the extra meds so I was able to take the right amount when instructed by my EP when I phoned him Europe. Upon my return from my trip, I was back in his office for medication adjustment. The pill in the pocket is not the standard way to treat AFib but only a way to help you through the event. You need to follow up with the EP as the current meds you are taking may not be doing the trick.
Avatar f tn t think a normal Ultrasound is likely to prove much. I think you need a stress induced echo. They need to see your heart when running in stress mode, to see how it copes.
Avatar f tn t allow me to receive more than a 6 months supply before I leave for a year in Spain. They said to have someone in the US pick up the refills and mail them to me in Spain. But I've heard horror stories about Customs in Spain holding onto packages for weeks. I had a TT and thus needs my meds for survival (this is the only thing about my condition that freaks me out...the idea that I might not have the meds available for some reason).
Avatar f tn so I guess the hibiclens is used in the vagina of gbs positive women in labor in europe. Here in the us they do iv antibiotics (which can kead to antibiotic resistance in the newborn but different soap box for another day!) Well upon read in it states if you do a hibiclens of your vagina/rectum 6 hours before your gbs test it will cure gbs colonization if you have it thus giving you a gbs neg test! Have you ladies heard of this?
Avatar n tn HIV 2 is rare I believe, though I have seen it is prevalent in Mediterranean Europe. This exposure occurred in Portugal with a female who lived there though was British. I am just concerned re having these symptoms. I see the test would detect Would a fourth gen test detect the vast majority of HIV strains?
Avatar m tn nl there are two labs one in europe and one in US.all the tests are made in europe but blood samples can be sent to new jersey US too just check all studies on cancer and gcmaf since there is a 100% cure rate on the small human trials made in the 90, this was for early stage 1 and 2 tumors of any type/organ.on terminal cancers stage 4 the success rate is less but there are some on gcmaf.
Avatar f tn in fact, by the why the test kits are designed, it would be impossible to use the same one twice. Further, perhaps it will help you to know that in the US and Europe in the past 20 years, probably there has not been a single case of HIV infection occurring as a result of drawing blood, or by use of a finger-stick lancet. So you can absolutely rely on your negative test result and should not be at all worried about being infected during the testing process. There's simply no chance of it.
Avatar f tn Nor MRI was even discussed - in fact the heart catheter is the normal (in my experience) test done if the stress test is not conclusive. This has been the case fo me in past years.
Avatar n tn I have had two sets of chest xrays done and they show nothing as well. I went in for a stress test and it appeared to be "abnormal". I went in for an angiogram and the doctor assures me that my heart is in excellent shape except for a very small blockage. I continue to have the tightness in my chest and the feeling of being flush. I have a blood pressure of 100 over 60 and a pulse of 72. I have had no other problems in the past. I am at a loss as to where to go next.
862553 tn?1239060736 Of course i had the ct with my heart at rest before the stress test and then after the stress test... But am wondering what you would think is possibly going on. My maternal grandfather died because his heart actually exploded and my father himself has had bypass surgery... so there is a hitory in our family all my sibling's take meds for high blood pressure and one sister takes heart medication already ... Could you please let me knwo what your thgouhts are on this ...
Avatar f tn I have a stress test today they put me stripes in my belly to monitor the babys heart rate. They did it for 20 minutes and they said everything looks good they said if they see something weird you can be there for up to 2 hours.
Avatar m tn I have A Fib and I could not do the stress test with the treadmill so the doctor wants to give me an injection (dobuytamine hcl/250 and sestamibi(2) in order to race my heart to get it up to a certain speed and I am concerned since I have the A. Fib and take medication for it (Diltazam). Is it dangerous for me to have the test??
1822306 tn?1330522629 Does everyone have a stress test before starting treatment? I am 56 and in good health, weight, and somewhat athletic. Is a stress test necessary? I am Genotype 2b; I only have to do six months SOC and was hoping to finish treatment before summer.

The only sympton I have is some chest pain once in a while. complete exhaustion, headaches, feeling like I have no energy. Could this be all tied in.
Avatar n tn She gets sweating wlile walking app 200m distence for last 5-6 years. so her stress test was done. baseline ECG is normal. On Bruce protocol she could walk for upto 2 min on treadmill. There were no ECG changes during test, but during recovery phase she developed ST depression with T inversion in II, III, AVF , I, aVL and V2 to V6 for 10 min. She was not having chest pain at that time. She is undergoing Cor angio shortly. What is the probability that she can have Triple vessel disease?
Avatar n tn I can produce a numbert of different opinions what is the appropriate heart rate and so on with exercising. The best method for someone with a heart issue is to have a stress test. A stress test is oftened done for the purpose of learning the degree of tolerance/risk one can safely do. The rule of thumb stated is not recommended for someone who has heart issues. You will be safe to engage in exercising according to METs.
