Stress test heart rate

Common Questions and Answers about Stress test heart rate

Avatar n tn What the cardiologist is looking for on a stress test is achieving 85% of you max predicted heart rate. Once that is met, the test is usually terminated. In you case that would be 133 BPM (220-age)*.85). Mets is simply a calculation used to determine the amount of energy expended to calculate calories burned.
Avatar f tn t transfer my medical records over from CA when I moved to IL and because of that, I get 2 a week til I give birth. They monitor my heart rate, his heart rate, his movements and I have to click a button every time I feel him move. They want to make sure that he's progressing properly and the placenta is providing him with all he needs. If something was wrong then his heart rate wouldn't go up 10 to 20 BPM twice in 30 to 60 minutes, thats what they check.
Avatar m tn I only walked twelve minutes before my stress test was stopped. But I reached my target heart rate. I felt extremely exhausted until my pvcs surpressed at a heart rate of 150 and then I felt GREAT until I stopped and as my heart rate went down then the pvcs started again. Your doctor should have explained anything that may have been concerning during the stress test.
Avatar n tn Coreg is medication that helps lower the heart rate and bp. The stress test will evaluate one's physical condition a peak heart rate unmedicated, and how quickly the heart rae returns to normal within 3 minutes or so. Other phases of the test considered as well.
Avatar f tn The etiology can be the fast heart rate has caused low blood pressure. With a fast heart rate pumping ventricles do not have enough time to fill sufficiently with blood before the each contraction, and the cardiac output decreases in spite of the faster heart rate. Other abnormally rapid heart rhythms such as ventricular tachycardia also can produce low blood pressure. A hole in the heart can cause hypoxia.
Avatar n tn A stress test reaching your projected heart rate is only one part of a big picture. And even additional tests may not show much but your signs may continue. You are a woman and if I assume that 1953 is your birth year then I'd be paying close attention and watching lipids, blood pressure, and taking control of listening to your body. Joan.
212161 tn?1599427282 you are referring to had nothing to do with you walking barefoot (I had them too up to the point were the ECG became unreadable and I have as yet found nobody that could/would explain this to me) and they stopped the test because you had reached your prescribed heart rate of 140 BPM - so nothing wrong with that.
Avatar f tn ughhhh im so ready to have my baby girl :) has anyone had to take the stress test to make sure baby was ok before they went into labor or got induced... I go on monday to get test done to make sure my baby is ok... just wanted to know what they do, and how long it takes.......
Avatar f tn re saying, but the Cardiologists I have worked with usually try to keep the heart rate during a stress test at 85%, which is enough to get sufficient information even when they are looking for arrhythmia, even more so as a higher heart rate could be dangerous in such a scenario. The fact that they offered to allow her to go on would make me think they were not concerned about any findings of an arrhythmia.
Avatar f tn I just turned 37 weeks today and I've had 3 done already...and I will continue to have one until I deliver the baby (my dr. procedure for all clients)....it's really nothing to worry about.....it's just a test to check on the baby movement and heart rate to make sure he or she is not stressed....
Avatar n tn My nuclear stress test results were as follows ver batim. I do not know what it means, are the results acceptable, good very good etc. What does this say about the blood flow to the heart muscle ? "injection of Myoview nuclear tracer & resting images obtained excercised on a treadmill for 5 min 34 sec. to 10.
Avatar f tn I am supposed to have a stress test for my baby in a couple days . I am worried its going to hurt. Has anyone has this done??
Avatar f tn Usually if there is a pituitary problem causing a heart rate problem, the rate is always high even at rest. keep in touch and let me know how things turn out.
Avatar f tn Don't know your medical issues but your age is an indication for twice weekly antenatal testing.
Avatar n tn Can you tell me what it indicates if a person could not get their heart rate up to the desirable number during an echo stress test during the treadmill portion. It is a male age 36 with insulin dependent diabetes since age 6. He has a tendency to have slow heart rate and could not exceed the mid 150's during the treadmill no matter how they kept making him work harder. He is 5'7" and weighs about 155 and is very active.
Avatar f tn There is a non stress test AND a stress test.... There are different reasons for both. During a non stress test they hook you up to a monitor and just keep an eye on baby's movements and heart rate... During a stress test they hook you up to a monitor but they induce contractions to see how baby reacts.
Avatar f tn after a minutes rest we carried on at 3 minutes my oxygen went from 100 back down to 84 and heart rate went to 146. When returning to test, my heart rate dropped to 44 and my oxygen level went to 96.This was not a strenuous test just a walking test, I have had a problem with breathlessness and fast heart rate when i do little exertion ie:- walking up stairs for around 10 months now, kept complaining to my gp who was not remotely interested.
Avatar n tn You do need to get back with the cardio and get an explanation of a one minute stress test terminated at heart rate of 144. You do not state how you felt at the time of the test termination. You are still not out very far from your heart attack; I'd go back and get some guidance.Let us know. Joan.
Avatar m tn I just completed a tread mill stress test and a nuclear stress test. Briefly, the results are: 1) attained 100% target heart rate, no chest pains, no arrhythmia 2) LVEF is 56% 3) Moderate size infereior ischemia 4.) ECG is positive for ischemia at good workload (reached heart rate of 143). I've formed a preliminary impression from my research on the Internet, but I would appreciate professional feedback. I am scheduled for a heart catheterization. Thank you.
7136384 tn?1390142888 Stress test or non-stress test? During a NST they just hook you up to a monitor to keep track of baby's movements and heart rate. During a stress test they actually stimulate contractions and monitor baby's response to those contractions.
Avatar f tn A stress test or a non stress test? Because they are different a non stress test is just a monitor that they put on you to measure the babies movements. A stress test actually induced contractions and is used to see how baby reacts, like if there is movement or if there is a drop in heart rate.
Avatar f tn I have mine today. I was told that the ultrasound is to check fluid levels to make sure he still has enough. The non stress test was something I had to look up. They are going to measure the babies heartbeat while sleeping and while moving to see if they are different and also check to see if you are having contractions and how they are effecting the baby's heart rate. If they are causing your baby's heart rate to drop, they could induce you sooner.
Avatar n tn I don't know. There were no displays on the treadmill when I did my stress test. They mostly judged my "success" on my heart rate and blood pressure readings compared to how long I lasted. I never had to run; it was just a walking speed with some incline increases. I did about 10 minutes I guess and then had to lie down for the recovery part. I think I did just fine.
Avatar f tn Just after the test started, I started getting very severe pain in my legs. My heart rate only went up to 112 beats per minute when they injected the thallium. I had to stop the test within 3 minutes of starting it because of the pain in my legs (approx. 30 seconds after injection). I got the results of the test on Saturday.
Avatar m tn I had a tread mill stress test and a nuclear stress test. Briefly, the results were: 1) reached 100% target heart rate, no chest pains, no arrhythmia 2) LVEF is 56% 3) moderate size inferior ischemia 4) ECG is positive for ischemia at a good workload (143 heart rate). I have formed a preliminary impression from my research on the Internet, but would appreciate feedback on the above 4 items. I havel scheduled a heart catherterization. Thank you.
