Avatar n tn An Echo Stress Test or a Nuclear Stress Test, if the doctor is suspecting coronary artery disease. However, a regular stress may be sufficient in stable patients or those with a low suspicion of coronary artery disease who are being assessed for exercise tolerance (for example, prior to undergoing a structured exercise or rehab program). If you are/were experiencing chest pains an EKG Stress test is not reliable and probably should have had a Nuclear Stress Test.
Avatar n tn My nuclear stress test results were as follows ver batim. I do not know what it means, are the results acceptable, good very good etc. What does this say about the blood flow to the heart muscle ? "injection of Myoview nuclear tracer & resting images obtained excercised on a treadmill for 5 min 34 sec. to 10.
Avatar f tn Has anyone taken a stress test ? My doctor got me so worried. I told him today at my appt that my baby doesn't move as much as he use to everyone else told me it's bcuz he's losing space. So I wasn't too concerned and now my doc wants to make sure everything is okay so tomorrow I'm going in for a stress test . Has anyone done this? I'm pretty worried now :( I just want everything to be okay.
Avatar f tn Let's see, chest pain, exhaustion, headaches and a positive stress test.... yes it's necessary! Go, if nothing else you'll get some peace of mind. Remember, knowledge is power to control your future.
Avatar n tn I've just had a SPECT stress test. The cardiologist report stated that I have apical ischemia. The size is small, the severity is mild and the reversibility is partical. I'm a 51 year old female ~ on the tread mill for 8+ miniutes, at 172 HR (100%). I'll be speaking to my cardiologist. How serious is this? It doesn't sound so bad?? The only other peice is that I've got a heavy feeling on my chest - not always and not painful.
Avatar n tn Usually a cath procedure is done after a stress test to open any blocked vessels discovered with a stress test as well as measure any gradient pressures and intra-chamber, vessel pressures, etc.!. Are you having chest pains that can not be relieved with medication? Pain with exertion and relief with rest?
Avatar n tn I can produce a numbert of different opinions what is the appropriate heart rate and so on with exercising. The best method for someone with a heart issue is to have a stress test. A stress test is oftened done for the purpose of learning the degree of tolerance/risk one can safely do. The rule of thumb stated is not recommended for someone who has heart issues. You will be safe to engage in exercising according to METs.
212161 tn?1599427282 am so stressed about a nuclear/stress test friday i have thrown myself into anxiety over it . not sure why i have to come off my timilol pills for my pac thursday been on them for 15 years or more that scares me.
Avatar f tn I had the stress test done before my surgery. I could not cross the street without getting out of breath and having chest pain. I was unable to complete the test on the treadmill so they gave me drugs to increase my heart rate so that I could complete the test. You can ask them about it before you have the test.
Avatar m tn Did you have a stress test with imaging? If so these things are about 97% accurate in finding heart disease. The next test would be an angiogram which carries a very real risk of complication and I doubt anyone would do one without additional symptoms. You may be best served by getting a second opinion.

Avatar n tn can a stress test reveal something that the other tests did not?
Avatar f tn I recently had an abnormal EKG that showed a LBBB. I was sent for a Lexiscan stress test and this was the conclusion: Calculated post stress LVEF 51%. There was a medium sized mild to moderate, fixed defect in the basal anteroseptal, mid anteroseptal, apical anterior, apical septal, apex segments.
Avatar n tn Can you tell me what it indicates if a person could not get their heart rate up to the desirable number during an echo stress test during the treadmill portion. It is a male age 36 with insulin dependent diabetes since age 6. He has a tendency to have slow heart rate and could not exceed the mid 150's during the treadmill no matter how they kept making him work harder. He is 5'7" and weighs about 155 and is very active.
Avatar f tn I have uncontrolled hypertension and began having nagging ache in my left arm, and occasional pain in my upper back, and ocaasional discomfort in my chest...so I had a thallium stress test...during the period in the test when they sent me home for a couple of hours and told me to return later, I had severe pain in both arms, was nauseated, and slept until time to go back...i told them about it, but they were not concerned...when i got the reults of the test, it wa normal...
Avatar n tn I would like to mention that I had recently had chest pain and was put on beta blockers which gave me bad side effects including worsening chest pain and low heart rate and tingling in hands and feet, it has since been reduced but still have symptoms. I also had an echo which was apparently normal but mentions trivial regurgitation in both the mitral and tricuspid valves.
Avatar n tn t agree on why I did so well on the stress test. Q. Can some one do this well on a stress test, ie 13.5 minutes and still have major heart problems? What's next?
Avatar m tn I just got a stress test because of some pains I had in my chest. On a followup appointment with my cardiologist, he indicated that my test results were normal. In fact, the first pages summary of my results looked ok. Here are conclusions: 1. Normal exercise dual-isotope myocaridal perfusion study. 2. Normal gated SPECT left vetricular wall motion study. 3. Normal gated SPECT left ventricular ejection fraction. 4. Negative exercise electrocardiogram. 5. Moderate exercise tolerance. 6.
Avatar m tn they have called it angina. but I have No blockages found. Chemical Stress test is fine. But on the treadmill have thobbing back pain between shoulder blades, caused by activity, exciting. nitro doesn't not have any effect .Blood pressure soars when attacks starts. what could it be. Have saw 3 cardio doctors Had the pain for 20 years. 70 years old. triple bypass done in 1998.
Avatar f tn test with myocardial perfusion imaging revealed mild to moderate ischemia involving the basal anterior septum and mid anterior septal walls. He is status post recent (4/7/08) four-vessel bypass graft with a LIMA to the LAD. My husband has been labeled a walking piece of plaque by his cardiologist. With his open-heart surgery being so recent, with him being diabetic, and he has never had any symptoms of his illness - should this recent test be looked into further by your opinion?
Avatar m tn m not a needle guy and I actually passed out and hit my head on the wall when they were putting the IV in - prior to the stress test. I freaked the nurses out. I insisted on getting the stress test done after that and the cardiologist agreed that it would be a good "worst case" scenario. So I still got up and ran on the treadmill for them. I want to say that I ran for 15 minutes. But they're monitoring you BP/HR etc so don't worry. They're not going to kill you!
Avatar m tn I had a tread mill stress test and a nuclear stress test. Briefly, the results were: 1) reached 100% target heart rate, no chest pains, no arrhythmia 2) LVEF is 56% 3) moderate size inferior ischemia 4) ECG is positive for ischemia at a good workload (143 heart rate). I have formed a preliminary impression from my research on the Internet, but would appreciate feedback on the above 4 items. I havel scheduled a heart catherterization. Thank you.
Avatar f tn Had a stress test there is a large sized anterior walldefect extending to the apex and septal wall. There is a samll sized distal anteroapical defecdt extending to the septal wall. Small sized fixed distal anteroapical defect textending to the septal wall consistent wiht myocardial scar. What does all this mean. I an 70 year old female with family heart history.
Avatar m tn I had severe chest pain and 2 wks later went to see Dr, he orderd a stress test which came back positve and he said it was isschemia and sent me to a cardiologist the next day...cardio did an EKG in office and came out positive too, by this time i was extremly nervous...from there they sent me to get a nuclear stress test and that showed everything was fine, so my question is why did 2 out of 3 test were positive, should i believe that everything is fine...I am a 56 yr old woman...
