159619 tn?1707018272 s time for my annual physical here in a few weeks and was wondering if it is necessary to request a stress test or echo again. My last echo was last September and was normal as were my echos in 2005 & 2006 and I had Thallium stress tests in 2006 & 2005, both were normal. I am a 50 year old male, about 50 or so pounds over weight but have lost 70 since Jan 2007 by life style changes and daily exercise.
Avatar f tn My non stress test was basically getting hooked up to the same monitors the hospital has. There's a Monitor to watch frequency, duration, and intensity of contractions, and one to watch baby's heart. My baby wasn't stressed but I'm sure they'd probably induce immediately if baby is showing signs of distress, especially since your due date has passed.
Avatar m tn Is there an agreement at what frequency this test should be performed? I had one in January, 2011 and the cadiologist suggested to have another one in January of 2012. I had a Calcium Score of 1217 - that's why I went in the first place - and no Angina. The first test came out normal with LVEF of 74%. Shouldn't it be rather every other year or even in three year intervals?
Avatar f tn Assuming cardiac tests are normal,at what frequency should one get tested again? The doctor told me once a year, another said every 6 months.
Avatar f tn Hello! I am having too much high frequency.. I go nearly 30 times a day to toilet. At worse 40 times sometimes if i drink too much water or other drinks especially cold drinks and juice so i have stopped drinking them a long time ago. I have constant feeling of pressure in the bladder.. Just horrible pressure.. I have only one thought the whole day that i need to pee.. Every second.. The urge become high when i drink something.
Avatar n tn There are a number of reasons for why this may be happening... stress, diabetes, pregnancy, etc. It's hard to say what it might be for your specific case because I don't know a whole lot of info on your background. If you think it is a problem, then talk to your doctor. They can do some testing and find out what is going on.
Avatar f tn I am 41 years old. Had a stress test today. Went 19 minutes on the treadmill got heart rate to 180 bpm and when she slowed the treadmill down shortly after I felt a etopic and look on the monitor and saw the pvc. She said it was the only one I had during the test. However every once in a while when I am working out I will fell a couple either durning exercise or recovery.
Avatar n tn Prior to pregnancy, I had the same issue, which I thought was a result of severe work related stress. I was prescribed Prosed DS, which eliminated the frequency. As I am breastfeeding, I cannot take Prosed. Is my body merely flushing fluids, or is it something more?
Avatar n tn A echocardiogram (doppler) is the test I have every few years and I have moderate to severe mitral regurgitation. Echo (doppler). Also, there is some reliabilty based on shortness of breath symptoms, and I was told if I get shortness of breath a valve replacement or repair would be considered. The doppler provides a visual view of the size and shape of your heart valves and chambers, how well your heart is pumping blood and whether a valve is narrowed or has backflow...
Avatar f tn The medical issue is electrophysiology so investigation remains mostly with EKG. A treadmill stress test can determine if blockage can be provoked by observing ekg output under stress. There can be a rhythm issue associated with abnormal postassium concentraction and blood test would be appropriate. You don't provide much information such as your symptoms, if medicated during test, what was the heart rate during test, etc. Any other medical issues?
Avatar m tn Kidney stones on the way to the bladder can cause urgency and urinary frequency and even burning with urinating. Bladder tumors can cause frequency and urgency. Stress can cause frequency and urgency. Strictures in the urethra can cause frequency, urgency as can problems with the nerves that enable your bladder to function. I suggest that you see a urologist to try and get to the bottom of all of this. S.A.Liroff, M.D.
Avatar n tn I have had ongoing problems with urine frequency for over a year. Had a few UTI but they are gone now. Was on gelique which helps for a while. Then Im fne for a month and the frequency returns. Went to my gyn and she said my bladder has dropped(but not bad) and did a urethal stretch. My problem seems worse now. Don't think I am emptying fully as in the morning I have to go every 5 minutes. Im really at a loss as what to do. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn I'm 67 years old. I've been having urinary frequency and I had a post void retention test done and it was 50ml. My urologist told me I'm not emptying my bladder completely but isn't she wrong. Is a 50ml a normal value?
Avatar f tn I'm a 20 yo female and I've been having PVCs off and on for the past half year. I was hit by terrible anxiety and was practically bed ridden because of it. I've gotten used to the fact that I'll have to deal with these stupid PVCs for the rest of my life. Every test has checked out . The only test I have left is an echo. I'm sure it'll be fine though. Right now on my bad days I have about 250 PVCs but in my good days I have a handful or even none!
Avatar n tn I've had these miserable things my entire life. I've mentioned this before, but I can remember having these as a very young child, learning that if I laid still and in the right position I could feel my heart skip. Most of the time I can't feel them except when I'm taking my blood pressure or laying on my side. Many of mine are transitional PVC's which occur when standing up or getting up from a chair, they are the most uncomfortable ones for me and feel like a flutter.
Avatar n tn I had 2 yeast infections. A few weeks ago had the frequency so bad along with a sore stomach and felt terrible. Went to urologist and he said it was a yeast infection. Sent it for a culture and it was negative. Went to gyn and she tested my urine and said it was a uti. Sent it for a culture and this came back negative. She also removed the pessiary. About 3 years ago the Dr did a test to rule out cancer and said I had cystitis.
Avatar n tn My internist said that there was not mention of this in the report. I am just shocked. My echo, stress test and ekg are all "normal". Whatever normal means.
Avatar m tn t thrilled w/ the doctor in general but she said it was just anxiety and stress. I decided for a 2nd opinion at a urologist and she agreed stress was the biggest culprit but thinks I could also have an OAB. Mind you I had a clean UTI at all the doctors, a good exam at my gyn but she sent me for ultrasound which was normal, and I had blood work done for all things including diabetes. Although my glucose came in at 101 and under 99 is the norm it wasn't cause for concern.
Avatar n tn Hi, i'm a 19 year old male, and I started having feelings or urinary urgency and frequency in the month of july. The problem has been going on since, and has steadily worsened. (i've been to the ER twice.) It's a very strange story, because I'm yet to find out whats really wrong. I first was sent to a urologist, who gave me a CAT scan on my kidney and bladder. Nothing showed up.
Avatar f tn If I will have an ectopic pregnancy or a miscarriage there is nothing the blood test will do but stress me out. When/IF it happens and I feel pain, blood etc I will go to the ER of course but until I wont go through the stress again since it wont prevent anything. I am going for a vaginal ultrasound in week 6 though so I guess that will show any abnormality. I am so sad.
Avatar n tn Do not share this medication with others. Lifestyle changes such as stress reduction programs, exercise and dietary changes may increase the effectiveness of this medicine. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about lifestyle changes that might benefit you. Have your blood pressure and pulse checked regularly while taking this medication. It may be best to learn how to monitor your own blood pressure and pulse. Discuss this with your doctor.
Avatar f tn It was " suggested " that I have a stress test. It's not mandatory so I'm wondering if I should have one done at all. Has anyone had a stress test? If so what did the results reveal?
Avatar f tn I have an apt today to do a stress test since am over due. I want to go in there informed, does anyone know what it is or whats going to happen?
Avatar f tn In a low risk pregnancy a non stress test or stress test would only be warranted if their was a concern. However diabetics (both gestational and non) have a higher rate of stillborn babies (still rare, but better to be safe) so its common practice to keep a closer eye as the pregnancy nears the end.
8818986 tn?1406114699 So I have to go now every week for a stress test that they are going to be doing on my baby because I have extra fluid. Does anybody know how they do it?
