Avatar n tn Under the interpretive information, it states that there are non-malignant disorders that can elevate this level in women that have not been dx with OVCA, which is one reason it is not a reliable test for women with no symptoms or evidence of OVCA. And copied right from this webpage: "elevated levels have also been reported to occur during menstruation..." So, depending if you still menstrate and when you have the test drawn can affect this level.

198419 tn?1360242356 SarahL asked for a good list for patient medicine assistance sites. I came across pparx and tried it out. Type the name of your medicine you need help in the box (link should bring you to page with a box - I typed in Provigil in the search term using drug name), and it brought up the company's program, and I also tried it with Avonex.... Quicker than linking a whole host of individual websites! http://www.pparx.

190885 tn?1333025891 I wasn't required to fast - fasting is required for certain tests because of relative effects on biochemical ranges and best times to record measures against established baseline norms - I doubt fasting has any impact on genetic markers which I believe are fixed and not dynamically subject to environmental (internal /external) factors.
Avatar m tn First, the supplements used to treat depression aren't necessary for health unless you had a deficiency severe enough to cause it -- for example, a lack of B vitamins could result in depression. Your blood tests didn't show these deficiencies or your doctor would have advised you to take more.

Avatar m tn ) had an upper endoscopy due to persistent reflux, and it showed nothing particularly dangerous - it showed IM in the antrum and gastritis with some atrophy - by the words of my gastroenterologist, conditions which were very common. Also had an AFP test, it showed only slight raise with 5,36, the upper norm being 5,0 UI/ml. He alarmed me though, for what he thought was base of the tongue polyps, and I became worried that I have cancer.
Avatar n tn I can produce a numbert of different opinions what is the appropriate heart rate and so on with exercising. The best method for someone with a heart issue is to have a stress test. A stress test is oftened done for the purpose of learning the degree of tolerance/risk one can safely do. The rule of thumb stated is not recommended for someone who has heart issues. You will be safe to engage in exercising according to METs.

Avatar n tn My doctor has ordered a non stress test for me if I go over my due date. 1822306 tn?1330522629 I have had all bloodwork, sonogram, and biopsy. The nurse forgot to make an apt last month for a stress test the Hepa ordered so now it will be another month before the Cardiologist can see me. My question is: Does everyone have a stress test before starting treatment? I am 56 and in good health, weight, and somewhat athletic. Is a stress test necessary? I am Genotype 2b; I only have to do six months SOC and was hoping to finish treatment before summer.
Avatar f tn Do they do stress test for everyone? If so when do they do it?
Avatar n tn I have had two sets of chest xrays done and they show nothing as well. I went in for a stress test and it appeared to be "abnormal". I went in for an angiogram and the doctor assures me that my heart is in excellent shape except for a very small blockage. I continue to have the tightness in my chest and the feeling of being flush. I have a blood pressure of 100 over 60 and a pulse of 72. I have had no other problems in the past. I am at a loss as to where to go next.
