stress-test

1822306 tn?1330522629 So even though the PCP said the EKG did not indicate it, he deferred to the gastroenterologist because he knew how badly I wanted into this trial and ordered it anyway. The insurance DID pay for it, the stress test results were excellent and all is good. One of the issues here is recency. In light of more and more information on patients, doctors change their assessment procedures.
Avatar f tn Is if nyboby is using private insurance and Medicaid at the same time.... My insurance deductible is so high that I can afford it so I went and applies for Medicaid and guess whatThank God got approved now my ? Is do I use both or just Medicaid any experience in this topic ladies......
Avatar n tn Went to family physician who was concerned and suggested nuclear stress test or CAT angiogram and gave me a choice. He ruled out blood work to look for enzymes. He told me the CAT would require prior insurance approval and recommended nuclear stress test. Like the EKG's I am sure that nothing will show up on the stress test. Should I save the insurance co pays etc and go straight to CAT angiogram? This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.medhelp.
Avatar m tn I recently had a nuclear stress test with imaging and while recovering and resting on the the table my HR was coming down from 180 during Bruce level 5 to 110 and that is when my symptoms appeared. I started having PVC's here and there then bigeminy, trigeminy, couplets and as many as four to five PVC's in a row. Of course I could feel them and this lasted for 10 minutes. No intervention done at the time. No change in BP either.
Avatar n tn I have had no pain, or shortness of breath. The stress test was ordered, because I was on medication for Afib. That was what had put me in the hospital. Even then I had no chest pain, only a feeling of flutter. I don't know what to think. The local hospital, is a for profit hospital.( HCA ) as are hospitals in this area. They had said that further admittance was dependent upon my ability to pay, or medical insurance. I had been dropped, for a pre-existing condition.
713012 tn?1229536099 but no health insurance. the symptoms have been pretty consistent for the past three months and at times mean tripping to the bathroom 40 times per day but usually not for much more than the mucus, the urgency is there but not a lot of actual elimination. so without health insurance what gastro intestinal doctor will work with me? i have not the means for medical help. I just moved to Berkeley and called the free clinic but they have not the resources to test for this kind of disorder.
Avatar f tn SOOOO my doc has referred me to a cardiologist and he said the cardiologist will order the stress test and then the insurance company will pay for it....so I will see the cardiologist on Friday instead of getting the test....I know all of my other tests have been normal but I can tell you these last two weeks have been awful...last week I had panic attacks EVERYDAY....I think I am glad to be going to the cardiologist...sort of a second opinion and a specialist who only deals with heart issues.
550591 tn?1214928218 As I know of in the early 1980s, wpw was performed by open heart surgery. I refused so they put a pacemaker in. In 1985 they did the His bundle ablation. I think they want to see how active are your pathways. If you failed the stress test, the doctors still can perform a cardiac catheterization to find out. I think the doctor tried to save money for you to find out the pathway type on stress test rather to perform a catheterization.
Avatar f tn Its called PCIP (pre-existing condition insurance plan) Its a Federal program for those of us that get denied insurance because we have medical issues. They paid for a surgery and Hep C treatment. https://www.pcip.
Avatar m tn I had an abnormal stress test last week, and I had a heart attack many years ago. My cardiologist said he thinks I should have a Heart Cath, but is leaving it up to me. He said something that was confusing to my husband and me. He said my heart performed good during the stress test but that was bad. Sounded contradictory to us.
Avatar f tn Hmmm having trouble getting approval for much needed cardio tests for interferon approval. Has anyone else run into this problem and does anyone know how long these test are good for before hep docs want new tests. If and went I get it approved I doubt I'll ever be able to take the test again. Something wrong in insurance land.....Private insurers...
503607 tn?1275671579 I had my stress test today and true to form I had an anxiety attack as soon as I walked into my cardiologists office, My heart rate was at 136 without doing anything, I got it down to 117 and they started test, I did the 9 minutes without a problem got my heartrate up to 175. My blood pressure went to 208/100 too high, my cardio is going to put me on bp meds, I am so upset with myself that I allow these heart issue to upset me like this.
Avatar f tn Thanks everyone. I will be applying for medicaid this week.
Avatar m tn I have to agree with Flycaster, an angiogram would certainly be almost 100% accurate, but I doubt your insurance company would cover it. Also, most cardiologists will not do an angio until they have an abnormal nuclear stress test result as there is a risk with an angiogram, small as it may be. I have had 2 nuclear stress tests without any bad side effects. Nuclear stress tests are between 85 - 90% accurate without being invasive.
Avatar f tn Its been almost 7 years since my last child. Yesterday my doc. Offered me the 1st trimester screening test where they draw blood and screen for down syndrome and trisomy x syndrome. I don't remember doing this with my first two kids. I thought they only screen for that if you are over the age of 35(I'm 29)? Curious to know if anyone has had it done?
Avatar n tn I can produce a numbert of different opinions what is the appropriate heart rate and so on with exercising. The best method for someone with a heart issue is to have a stress test. A stress test is oftened done for the purpose of learning the degree of tolerance/risk one can safely do. The rule of thumb stated is not recommended for someone who has heart issues. You will be safe to engage in exercising according to METs.
Avatar m tn and one other thing if there was something wrong with my heart would it have shown during the stress test?
Avatar n tn Had a nuclear treadmill stress test done while taking the test the whole time the nurse held me up from behind 2 hands on back because i stated i had back problems and as soon as test started she began this procere is this comman practice?
Avatar n tn thankyou for responding, yes had the test reached my target heart rate , but didnt feel like i had exerted myself enough to give my heart a real test, thankfully nothing showed, but wish i had some answers to the chest pain that goes down my left arm, and cardioligist says its nothing, well its not nothing its very disturbing actually put me on lipitor as bad cholestrol is 7 oh well if i cark it least i know nothing was wrong..
Avatar n tn My doctor has ordered a non stress test for me if I go over my due date. I think they just want to make sure that the baby is doing well because the placenta starts to age at the end of pregnancy so they monitor the baby's heart rate for a bit to make sure the baby is getting enough nutrients and oxygen, I think it's routine.
Avatar f tn Do they do stress test for everyone? If so when do they do it?
Avatar n tn I have had two sets of chest xrays done and they show nothing as well. I went in for a stress test and it appeared to be "abnormal". I went in for an angiogram and the doctor assures me that my heart is in excellent shape except for a very small blockage. I continue to have the tightness in my chest and the feeling of being flush. I have a blood pressure of 100 over 60 and a pulse of 72. I have had no other problems in the past. I am at a loss as to where to go next.
212161 tn?1599427282 If so, they can give you something for your anxiety. I had the treadmill stress test and I was able to take a xanax. If it's the other one that's a medicine induced stress test where you lay on a table, then I'm not sure. Is your Dr. wanting you to get this test done? Has the chest pain went away since you started using your inhaler? You know anxiety can give alot of us shortness of breath and chest pains.
Avatar f tn Anyone know?
