Avatar m tn i am male 51 went for a stress test conclusion was Exercise induced ischemia at peak levels in lateral leads doctors said that at 150bpm there was a negative result of -1.75 which was bad an earlier test done five years back had no indication of this , what is the interpration of this result and how serious is this? i do not smoke or drink and do not exercise . help This discussion is related to Stress Test Interpretation.
Avatar n tn My nuclear stress test results were as follows ver batim. I do not know what it means, are the results acceptable, good very good etc. What does this say about the blood flow to the heart muscle ? "injection of Myoview nuclear tracer & resting images obtained excercised on a treadmill for 5 min 34 sec. to 10.
Avatar n tn baseline ECG is normal. On Bruce protocol she could walk for upto 2 min on treadmill. There were no ECG changes during test, but during recovery phase she developed ST depression with T inversion in II, III, AVF , I, aVL and V2 to V6 for 10 min. She was not having chest pain at that time. She is undergoing Cor angio shortly. What is the probability that she can have Triple vessel disease?
Avatar n tn I can produce a numbert of different opinions what is the appropriate heart rate and so on with exercising. The best method for someone with a heart issue is to have a stress test. A stress test is oftened done for the purpose of learning the degree of tolerance/risk one can safely do. The rule of thumb stated is not recommended for someone who has heart issues. You will be safe to engage in exercising according to METs.
Avatar n tn Just had a stress test here are the findings, but I"m not sure what they mean, can anyone help? Baseline ecg revealed inferolateral ST sagging - there is one further mm of ST depression at peak exertion being 7.7 METS. This test was positive for inducible ischemia, however, baseline ECG abnormality makes predictive value of this test less. They are now sending me for nuclear perfusion test in a couple of weeks.
Avatar m tn these would be firefighters and police officers performing a routine Bruce protocol test to pass their physical exam- can a midlevel or RN interpret and sign off
Avatar m tn Stress tests are standardized so most likely you were administered the same test as all of have had, The Bruce Protocol Stress Test. If that is the case, 10 minutes isn't too bad, but if you made it to 15 minutes, it would be perfectly normal to be panting and sweating profusely..... And most likely you'd be a world class athlete.
Avatar f tn on a bruce protocol treadmill test standard ( no dyes ) do you get results for Ejection fraction ?
1285040 tn?1438934858 Clinically positive and electrically negative Bruce protocol exercise treadmill test. Fair exercise tolerance. Test stopped due to dyspnea. Chest pressure at peak exercise. Occasional PVCs. No ischemia. A nuclear stress (only) test showed decreased perfusion in the anterior and inferolateral walls. ECG gated LV wall motion study revealed normal wall motion, normal wall thickening, normal systolic function, with a calculated ejection fraction of 58%.
486822 tn?1208800499 Could you help me understand my stress test findings? I am scheduled for a heart catherization due to these findings. I'm am a 45 year old female with obesity and Graves Disease. Exercised for 6 minutes and 30 seconds of a Bruce Protocol. Heart rate increased to 151 which was 86% of her perdicted maximal heart rate. Blood pressure was 124/92 at baseline and peaked at 160/78. Had slight chest discomfort during exercise which resolved with rest.
Avatar n tn I (57 yo male) just received the results of a stress test (Bruce protocol). I thought my heart was healthy, but asked for this test before starting an exercise regimen after not exercising regularly for the past few years. The "borderline normal " results were: 1. Ischemic changes confined to a small segment of the interior-apical wall of the left ventricle as well as the septal wall. 2. Borderline ejection fraction of 49% at rest.
Avatar m tn This can be cause by a reversible defect or blockage in an artery and is usually verified by a nuclear stress test of a cath. Also, it would appear that your exercise and oxygen uptake tolerance were decreased as well/ What did your doctor have to say? Let us know.
Avatar f tn I've a lot of them, but mine usually last only 2 to 5 minutes, two minutes if they spot something right away, five if my heart is behaving. I don't have the healthiest of hearts, and at my age they only have to get my heart beating to about 110 bpm. They like to continue the test for a minute or so at your 85% rate. Google 'Bruce Protocol' and you will get a lot of answers. Good for you, seeing the Cardiologist.
Avatar m tn Maybe I should have not asked for the Stress Test and listened to my Doctor. He suggested we either redo the test or refer to a Cardiologist at teaching hospital As soon as I eft the office I went for a a nice 40 minute run no chest pain or shortnes of breath was noted. Should I increase my dosage of baby aspirin? do you think they will recommend another cardiolite test or angiogram? I think I might have to wait a while for the appoinment. What's your impression or guess?
Avatar m tn Hi, I am a 36 year old male - 1 risk factor (smoking). Cholesterol is excellent, no family history. 2 years ago I started getting chest and back pains. Stress test came out positive with 1.5mm S-T depression, (onset @120BPM) - this was a submaximal test; Modified Bruce, max HR of 165 BPM, max exercise T=7min. Given the protocol, I think this is about 5 METS (?) Since, I have exercise-phobia… A follow-on nuclear perfusion stress test was done - S-T depression of 1.
Avatar n tn I have had Bruce Protocol Method with treadmil test, and I was unable to complete after 7 minutes...represents about 7.0 Mets. I work out on the treadmil 3 times a week at 4.5 Mets, but I have a heart condition and take a nitrate prior to workout. Thanks for sharing and take care.
Avatar n tn The cardiologists ordered numerous tests, including the Bruce protocol stress test. During the bruce protocol, I went to the end of the 5th stage, at which point the doctor stopped the test because my BP reached 206/101 (an rather large increase from my resting BP of 125/66). I have 9 years of education in the area of Kinesiology and public health, and I had always assumed I was healthy because I exercise regularily and eat healthy... But now I am concerned... Any advice? Or suggestions??
Avatar m tn Published values of "normal ranges" for aortic sizes. Sinus of valsalva: 29-45mm Mid ascending aorta:: 22-36mm Descending aorta: 20-30mm Abdominal aorta: 15-29mm Common Ileac: 10-12mm There is no "normal value for BP response to exercise." We define exertional hypertension as a systolic blood pressure greater than or equal to 210 mmHg.
Avatar f tn Most treadmill stress tests use a standard method referred to as the "Bruce Protocol". The test is a combination of speed and incline. The treadmill used has this program built into it, so your test would be just like my test. The idea is to walk as long as you can. Your test will start very slowly, but will increase in speed and incline at regular intervals, The test itself is designed so most people eventually "fail".
Avatar f tn the patient was exercised according to the Bruce Protocol, for 12 minutes (stage 4) with an estimated workload of 13.4 Mets. The test was terminated because of satisfactory cardiac workload. patient did not experience chest pain with stress. The heart rate was 96 bpm at rest and reached 196 with exercise which is 108.3% of predicted maximum. The blood pressure at rest was 126/86 and reached 150/90 at peak exercise which is a normal response. The resting ECG demonstrated sinus rhythm.
