Stress test after ptca

Common Questions and Answers about Stress test after ptca

stress-test

Avatar m tn It means that the supply of blood (and thus oxygen) is not sufficient during the maximum stress test, but that during rest it is (so the effect is reversible). The position where the heart blood supply is sometimes not sufficient is part of the wall of the left ventricle. The left ventricle is the part of the heart that queezes out the blood from the heart to the whole body. The pumping efficiency of the left ventricle may suffer from the lack of blood supply.
Avatar n tn To answer your question regarding return to work ,etc. is patient specific and requires consultation with a cardiologist who has your medical history, current condition, etc. My experience with a heart disorder going on 6 years now is almost identical to your present situation. I had hypokinesis from a prior heart event and CHF; the RCA 98% was stented, circumflex 72% (not stented), and the LAD is/was 100% blocked.
Avatar m tn When was your EF measured? Before or after your PTCA? This is important because sometimes, if the PTCA was done shortly after your heart attack, a lot of the heart function may recovered after the procedure. For example, if your EF is 30% before the PTCA, it may be 40% afterwards. It may takes time to see the improvement, ranging from days to weeks.
Avatar n tn About a year later, I started having PVCs which went up to about 9000 every 24 Hours, though LVEF was 65%. A Myocardial Perfusion Imaging Stress Test with TC 99m, did not show exercise induced ischemia, except for a fixed perfusion defect caused by the earlier heart attack. Probably, after long therapy with Sotalol, my PVCs now stand at 55 every 24 Hours.
Avatar n tn Repeat procedures are required less often after LIMA-LAD than after either PTCA or STENT. Long-term mortality was not statistically different, but the trend was for the lowest mortality with LIMA-LAD, a somewhat higher mortality with STENT, and the highest mortality with PTCA. There a different opinions regarding stents, cabg, and medication to treat blocked arteries. I am successfully treated with medication by a non-interventional cardiologist.

Avatar n tn A nuclear or Thallium stress test will show the distribution of blood to the heat muscle. If there is uptake with stress, you most likely have collaterals forming.
Avatar m tn LV contracting well, good LV FUNCTION,normal valves,no clots/effusion.Dr.advised an angioplsty to O.M,after angioplasty again done an echo, normal sizes cardiac chambers ,good LV systolic function,noRWMA,normal valves,noPAH,no clots/effusion.Now i taking Rampril 2.5,concor 5,clopivas 75,asprin 150,avas 40 each daily. When i can stop this medicine.Actually attack time i have no feelings.I have only 34 yrs old, thats time my cholostrol level also normal.
Avatar m tn Hi! Are you checking to see if the test results indicate that a bi-pass is needed? Are you worried about the bi-pass surgery?
Avatar m tn LAD: Type III Prox LAD has eccentric 80% stenosis, Left main: Short and normal, LCX:Dominant Normal, OMs and Diagonals- normal, RCA- Non dominant Normal.
Avatar m tn 35 old men,i had an recentCAD ACS-NSTEMI AND DONE PTCA TO OM.MT ANGIOGRAMME RESULT IS,LMCA IS LONG AND NORMAL.LAD:Type 111 vessel.Mild luminal narrowing in LAD at the orgin and D1.Distal LAD and diagonals are normal.Lex:ostium has a mild plaque.long tubular narrowing in the major OM with slow filling distally.Distal Lcx is normal.RCa Dominant amd normal. My echo result was,Distal Anterior IVS& distal anterior wall akinetic with mild thinning.
Avatar f tn Some cardiologists say that the regurgitation might get better due to the fact that ptca or stenting may increase the circulation in my heart. i am scared that after stenting I would need to go to surgery for the mitral valve.
Avatar f tn I am scheduled for a nuclear stress test on july 30, and an echo. I have had an echo but was wondering what the stress test was?? Anyone with info please help??????
Avatar m tn CORONARY ANGIOGRAPHY LEFT MAIN - :is normal LAD - is a type 3 vessel shows 90% proximal discrete stenosis With slow flow distally.D1 & D2 appears normal. LCX -: non-dominant vessel shows 50% stenosis in its distal segment. sizeable high OM shows 70% stenosis in its proximal segment. RCA -: dominant vessel showing proximal 50%long plaque.
Avatar m tn I had my one and only stress test when I was around 22 I think??I had to end up doing it right after I got off a 8 hour shift on GRAVE YARD...so you can only imagine!Well its not bad at all,I promise you..you may not have an IV either...I didnt ! They just hook you up to the machines so they can monitor you while running..it honestly doesnt go too fast...I wasnt active when I did it and I was still able to do the max 12 mins..
Avatar n tn added Norvasc to the regament, he is schedule for a stress test and was told to hold his coreg the day before, and can take the next days dose after the test. Why is this?
Avatar n tn hi i went for stress echocardiogram after i had a heart attack on the report it states at rest the mid apical septum and apical inferior segment are akinetic and the mid anteroseptum apical lateral and apical anterior segments hypokinetic ther was no response to dobutamine in these segments indicating irreversible ischaemia in the akinetic segments please what does this mean many thanks
Avatar n tn I've had this test twice. They inject you with a radioactive tracer that lets them image your heart and take pictures using a special camera before and after the stress test. The "stress" part of it lasts only a few minutes. It's painless, if somewhat time-consuming.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had 2 do this and if so what exactly do they do. Someone said it was stress test done on the baby but even if that is not really sure what that means.
Avatar n tn i was recently in the hospital, my blood pressure was very high, and i was having pain in my chest and my back left shoulder after running every test except the stress test, they said they could find nothing at all wrong. just got my blood pressure regulated with medication, and sent me home. the doctor however, still wants to run a stress test on me. question: can a stress test reveal something that the other tests did not?
Avatar n tn I have had two sets of chest xrays done and they show nothing as well. I went in for a stress test and it appeared to be "abnormal". I went in for an angiogram and the doctor assures me that my heart is in excellent shape except for a very small blockage. I continue to have the tightness in my chest and the feeling of being flush. I have a blood pressure of 100 over 60 and a pulse of 72. I have had no other problems in the past. I am at a loss as to where to go next.
